Ambassador Theatre reviews
15 The musical Chicago is an extraordinary spectacle.
I have seen it in several cities but the level of Broadway is the top. Excellent cast and live orchestra.
Front-row tickets cost $280 per person.
The Ambassador theater is quite old but cozy and with great acoustics.
Beautiful theater venue and the Chicago show was fabulous. Super easy to walk to if you are staying near Times Square. Smaller audience size puts you close to the stage no matter where you sit.
Only downside was that the theater only has 1 bathroom.
I went to this theatre with my husband to watch "Chicago" in celebration of our 10th anniversary and, even though the performance was absolutely amazing, an employee named Leonard completely ruined our night. During intermission, he came to me in na authoritarian mood, pointing and saying "You need to leave". Apparently, I was staying in a place where part of the staris was being blocked – which I completely understand. My point is that he shouldn’t be talking to me as if I was some sort of criminal. When I pointed out that, on the other side of the bar, the line of people was already completely blocking the stairs, he just replied "That's not my problem because I'm not in charge of that other area, but I'm in charge of this area and YOU have to leave". At that point, he was already raising his voice, so people started looking at us. I can't stress enough how disappointed I am in being treated this way. I have to say that I was wearing a yellow turban that night, so it was pretty obvious to everyone I was a foreigner - and I really think his reprimand was so aggressive because he saw me as a foreigner. I couldn't even get his full name. I only saw his first name was Leonard, but then he covered his badge when I tried getting his surname (and again started yelling "Why do you want my name"?). Again, people started looking at us. I felt discriminated against and humiliated. Not to mention powerless. The only thing I can do is make bad reviews on every single possible platform to advise people to think twice before going to the Ambassador – particularly if you’re a foreigner wearing ethnic clothes.
Nice theatre. It was quite small and no matter where your seats are you’ll get nice view. However (I suppose due to the size) there weren’t any special effects or amazing features on the play.
Went to see Chicago and had a great time. The show was awesome and the theatre had a ton of charm.
Old theater with history. The seats are very small and close together. Uncomfortable. In between, long lines for the small toilets.very good location
My wife treated me to performance of Chicago. I really enjoyed the intimate feel of the theater and the performance and the crowd was great!
The theater belongs to the rather small side, but if possible, it is recommended to avoid the 2nd floor and watch it from the front seat in the middle of the 1st floor.
Beautiful old theatre with all the quirks one would expect! This theatre is on the smaller side for Broadway but from what I could tell there aren't any horrific seats (besides box seats but those are bad everywhere). I did notice the theatre seems to be quite dusty as I became a sniffling mess after getting in here, so if you are sensitive to dust I'd recommend popping a pill before attending your show! They are really good at getting you in and to your seat very quick, once the door was open it was only a few minutes before I was in my seat. Overall a gorgeous theatre (take time to appreciate the main chandelier it is a very impressive piece of art)!
Saw Chcago here. It was a lot simpler production than what I expected from broadway. That being said the show is almost 50 years old. The fact that it's still being performed on Broadway says something about it.
The musical "Chicago" is beautiful, recited, sung (sublime voices), danced impeccably and the audience is an integral part of the show, with enthusiastic and engaging participation. Beautiful and talented protagonists: this is the real musical! Places are not famous by chance. Highly recommended and there is also air conditioning inside the theater.
Just saw Chicago with my family. Mezzanine seats comfy ones and the sound was perfect as well as the play.
There’s cabaret now starring Eric U as the emcee and his understudies that performed the mc for the first time they are Jack S Ben horwitz Ricky berwick and Phillip beavers Chicago just closed thanks

Chicago seems to go back and forth too much depending on the casting. It's always fun to see the original version
The stage view is really good as this is not a large theatre however seating is not comfortable. The leg room is very limited and your legs are almost hitting the person sitting in the front you. The seats are also close to floor which makes your knees curl up which also makes sitting uncorfortable. If you have experienced sitting in the third row of a small SUV, these seats feel like that.
