20Yesterday, June 23,2020 at 3: 48 pm I called American Express to inquire about travel insurance if I were to charge an airline ticket through my every day card. I was told by the agent it was included and I am covered. I went as far as role playing and asked her if I were to miss my flight because I got sick, or into an accident on the way to the airport would my ticket be refunded and she said yes, I am all set. I asked her three times, if she was sure and she said yes. After that conversation, I purchased the ticket. Afterward I went on line, I wanted to see what else was covered, was I insured for a medical emergency etc? I could not find anything on line, other than rental car insurance, so I called back. Astonishingly I found out I was lied to. You can purchase extra insurance but it is not included as I was told. I asked for the call to be reviewed and to speak to a manager. I was told they will not do anything other than give me the chance to review the agent that lied to me. No manager will call me back and quite frankly they do not care about this misrepresentation as they called it. I believe this should have a legal implication. I spent money with them because of what I was told. I have a credit card with AAA but only get xtra points no travel insurance. I called a few credit card companies before I purchased my ticket and only used the Amex card because of what I was told. Shameful disrespect of their customers but from what I can tell on this site and also on Trustpilot.com, American Express doesn’t care about their customers and they made that very clear to me.
Does not post corporate number. Makes you jump through hoops to speak to someone at the corporate office. Increases fees without providing ample notification. Insensitive to the pandemic state of the World.
I had a American Express prepaid card for about 3 years I just had my tax deposit into my account $1200 plus $900 that I already had just three day ago they closed my account and they did not return my money they just told me sorry about your money I closed your account I don’t know we’re your money is I contact my lawyer and channel 9 news all I want is my money that’s it I want this resolved
Truly awful customer service and very rude when I've reached the India call center. I was finally able to get connected to a different team in the US though and had a great experience with the woman I spoke with. If you are getting terrible customer service, my advice would be to keep getting transferred until you can get to a team that is paid enough to care and is actually authorized to help you.
This company has no appreciation for their customers. As a worldwide company I assume taxation is where ever it pleases, but customers are divided into countries they live in. This means: Watch out for the perks they offer! It is very different from country to country, not all Amex customers are the same as their not so logical website might suggest. Even their high priced products do not provide, what they suggest. Customer Service is a terrible experience and none is willing to do one more thing than they are expected to do by management, leaving customers disappointed. I must emphasize, I have no financial problems, that make me write this comment. After several years of Platinum membership, I am just fed up with what is provided.
They outsource roadside assistance for card holders to dialog direct I know I work there and employees are taking security chips that access American express card holder info home and when they quit and neither company is doing anything about it i would be worried if I had a American express card thank God I don't
This company is a joke. They do nothing to protect their customers. They steal from. I have been fighting with them for two months so far and good lord none of the agents are helpful at all. They give you no information what so ever and this review team can't be contacted which I believe is a lie. And also if your card ever becomes stolen and you report it online they don't lock it until you call which really defeats the purpose of even having online service. At least make a disclosure or something. I will never use this company again. And I will be filing a law suit against this company due to their negligence.

Unhelpful personnel with poor language skills. Gold member for over 30 years. American Express is lacking in service. MasterCard is better.
They need negative stars-Customer since 1985- they totally messed up my travel plans my trip was showing the name and itinerary of another customer - Great security- I spent over 3 hours on the phone with 2 supervisors who were no help at all- no authority to compensate for THEIR mistake and I am supposed to wait 48- 72 hours for a higher supervisor to call back- supposedly nobody there on a weekend so not only do I have to wait 2- 3 days I have to deal with their mistakes when it is convenient for them not for the customer.
Unbelievable that they would treat their customers so poorly- will no doubt be cancelling my cards. They need to put customers 1st and have people working that can actually resolve issues.
Been a member of American Express Platinum for 13 years and I also have my business cards with them. Never had a problem, until I used them to pay for a move that was never completed. I've now fought this charge 4 times and not a single person has actually heard one thing I have said and they keep siding with the moving company which does not have proof of delivery.
Amex was once the best card and much like the other reviews here, they are losing their weight in the financial market and their customers are fedup.
Shame. Now what do I do with the 500K points I have? Lol.

How do we, the customer, resolve this? We continue to give bad reviews, but I never see anyone's resolution. I need help on how to resolve fraud chgs with CS, when you don't have your AMEX card to refer to and if you don't answer you ID questions correctly, and somethings do change over 10 years, they can't verify your ID.
Why is there no way to contact this outfit on the website? The CONTACT US link goes no where and there is no customer service link, there is no phone number. Who in their right mind would deal with such a useless outfit.

I worked here as an intern. Don't really like the super-corporate bureaucratical culture, but my experience was nice. This HQ is located in a very nice location.
They are ridiculous! I missed one payment for the FIRST time ever and the suspended my account AND decreased my credit line! Ridiculous! This the first credit card company that has treated me this way. AND the payment was only late by SEVEN days. Ridiculous!
The service on the Platinum Concierge is s shockingly bad-One might jsut as well call up the bendors for service. And to make it worse for overseas tours and tickets they send out pdfs which can't be read by users int he US. The latter is simply insane.
The worst company ever. The name needs to be India Express Nothing about them is American, nothing! I tried to ask to speak with a American person, they refused! Change your name you do not represent my country! They lie to you, tell you things that are unreal when you try to call you can't understand these idiots that are not from our country!
