AMG School of Licensed Practical Nursing, Brooklyn NY

Let me tell my experience from the beginning, I started the LPN program at AMG in November 2020, with no prior nursing knowledge but I genuinely wanted to be a nurse (that was my passion) AMG taught me everything I know today, I had amazing professors who explained concepts and were very welcoming whenever I had questions about concepts I didn’t understand even after school hours when I sent emails (they genuinely care about their students and for that I’m genuinely grateful). From not knowing anything about nursing, I graduated as valedictorian of the LPN class in 2021. The president of the school Dr. Guzman offered me a full scholarship to the RN program (I am forever grateful for this opportunity). I just finished and also graduated valedictorian of the RN class. I totally recommend this school. My advice is, don’t listen to what everyone says, people are always going to have different opinion and that’s life. Just do what you have to do, study, pray and treat everyone with respect (professors and fellow students) and the sky will be your limit. Wishing you the best as you start nursing school!

I wrote a review of AMG College two months ago. Going through the program I swear I thought things would improve but they’re only getting worst. You spend a lot of money on tuition but receive little help from your lecturers. Fundamentals AM Prof. Don’t give HW only 1 assignment. Therefore, if you perform poorly on tests, you will fail the class and have no way to recover. When a student fails an exam, she will make fun of them and ask, "Would you like to know who has a 34 or 24 in the class? I can share it with you, " which is impolite and against the law.

However, the story doesn't end there. When it comes to providing you with the goods you require and are paying for, which were meant to be covered by your tuition, they keep giving you the runaround. There won't be any instructors in the lab when you arrive, and they'll blame you. The teachers are frequently late, and they demand payment of $300 or $350 if you miss or arrive late for a lab. They'll put you under pressure and offer you tests on material they never cover in class.

They are more concerned with the money than they are with the students who are making it. The worst aspect is that despite all the complaints from the pupils, nothing is being done about it. Some students claim that after complaining to the director, nothing is done to alter their behavior. They send you class information inadvertently. Sometimes professors are just as ignorant as some of us students. Once more, they consistently forget that if you don't look after your pupils, you won't make money. It's challenging to balance education, family, and employment for most students, like myself, who pay out of pocket. We can't pay for education if we don't work. They act as though everyone is brilliant.

They don't provide classes online. I know online is not for everyone, however to some is the only way to get by specially if you have children and can’t afford a sitter. None of them will approach you or email you if you're struggling and say, "You're failing, how can I help you get there? " I've attended college before, but I've never encountered a setting or instructors like these. Why would they insist that you take another course with the same instructor after you flunk it? A classmate of mine dropped out of the fundamental AM course. They charged her for it and noted that she failed the course twice. It is unfair. She retreated.

Never in my life have I witnessed something like this. Because they failed, students are rushing and sobbing in the stairwell and hallway. Do you know why that is? Before the final, everyone believed they were doing so well. Most likely, you would flunk the entire course if you performed so well on all of your examinations but failed the ATI or Finals.

Additionally, everything in the lab is antiquated, occasionally unclean, and dysfunctional. They only have one excellent lecturer, lecturer Hossain, who teaches medical math. She most likely won't return. She was concerned about her pupils. We all wished she taught more than just math, but alas, she doesn't. God is my witness that none of them cared after that.

I would give this place 0 stars. The male staff is unprofessional specifically Keith Brotherson and the doorman. Instead of Mr. Brotherson giving pertinent information about the program and review the transcript he basically turned my sister away because she wanted info and didn't want to sign any documents until the information was given. This was a waste of time and travel. He needs to work on his professionalism and demeanor. He didn't excuse himself during the meeting and basically picked up a call and dismissed my sister while she was sitting in front of him.

See I was looking for a LPN program but once I heard Jamaican mean lady, unprofessional staff, money hungry people, people making learning hard, staff don’t know what their talking about, staff being unprofessional & the list goes on. RED FLAG! Nobody has time & money to waste as we all want to achieve things in life.

I was having some questions about the program. Whoever picked up the phone was very rude. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!

I went to cuny colllege. They didn’t want any of my general class they wanted me to take all my classes over, it’s all about money for them.

The worst college is AMG School of Nursing. Disorganize is what I mean.utter disarray, utter disarray. They hire professors who are completely ignorant of what they are teaching. The finest lecturers at the moment are Professor Andrews, who teaches Fundamental, Pharmacology, and I'm not sure what else. Likewise, the math professor. Her name might be Hassin, I believe. None are decent besides that. This college costs a lot of money for nothing. DON’T -WASTE YOUR MONEY! To reserve your place, they demand a payment of $600. The financial aid counselors are sluggish. They should be taught to fail these students, in my opinion. They will test you on material that was never covered in class. You can go for weeks without seeing a professor or a lab instructor, but they still hold you responsible for what they didn't teach you. They are obnoxious, and the teachers are slothful. Nobody wants to address the numerous complaints coming from students. Something like a petition is required. Along with your stethoscopes, etc, books are not included in the tuition. Why are we spending almost $10,000 a semester on this? This institution is a total fraud. Please, I beg you, DO NOT ATTEND THIS SCHOOL. Search elsewhere

I attend this school Right now. All the students in Rn program failed pharmacology and all LPN students failed pharmacology. Only 4passed. This school is purposely failing you to make you pay $2000. DONOT come to this school run!

WUAOO SO MANY BAD REVIEWS! MOST BE A REASON! THAT'S MESSED UP! PEOPLE PAY OUT OF POCKET AND THEIR GOING THERE WITH THE HOPES OF ACHIEVING THEIR DREAMS AND TO BETTER THEM SELFS! AND THEY ARE TREATED LIKE THIS! THEY SHOULD SHOT DOWN THIS SO CALLED SCHOOL! UNBELIEVABLE HOW CRUEL!

I called twice just for information on admissions and a lady constantly picks up the phone with an attitude as of you’re disturbing her. Then I get transferred to a guy that is also rude talks over you while you speaking and don’t let you finish your sentence! All this while just trying to register I will not be going here they have no respect

Hey guys, if you want a good LPN program, please look into TCI, its in college point. I earned my license from then in 2017.

I never wrote a review in my life so me taking the time to write this says a lot. IF YOU Do Not HAVE ANY NURSING/ health care experience please save your time and money. Instructors are rude and they offer no extra help or support. They are money hungry, and the tuition is around 30k to become a Lpn. That price is a rip-off with so little resources. They do not get you ready for the boards. Please don’t consider AMG.

One of the best and most important choices I made for myself. It was not easy at any token. As a practicing licensed nurse I have learnt so much more about my attributes. I have elevated in many ways and it has been proven the same for my colleagues. There is a reason the nclex passing rate is where it stands. We as students are well beyond prepared. Word of advice… “don’t let others around mislead you with their own insecurities”. Thank you for all the support from all the Ladies of AMG administration and all staff.
