Pros:
-Awesome location, 10-15 minute walk at most to the attractions, next to shopping areas, and subway stations
-Complimentary bar (soft drinks, water, chips/chocolate bar) that can be refilled everyday & complimentary wine hour at the lobby (5: 30 - 6: 30pm) for a nice cup of wine
-Rooms were nice and modern looking

Cons:
-Doors need better sound proofing, I already hear the garbage truck & sirens on my left, I didn't need to hear conversations/doors closing/dishes from room service on my right
-Although the rooms were nice, light access was not convenient, there were these touch screen buttons to control the lights and the bathroom lights could only be controlled from outside

Despite the cons, the hotel is well-kept and does a good job encapsulating the Andaz brand under Hyatt. I could see myself staying here again

My husband and I stayed here recently for 3 nights. Location was perfect just right across Bryant Park (Winter Village) 1 block away from Grand Central and few minutes walk to Times square. Every associate were amazing and friendly! I love the complimentary mini bar! Also they refill it each day. Free wine on certain days, delicious apple cider. Room service food were really delicious and fresh and lastly the bed were really comfortable. Our stay was just so perfect! Thanks Andaz Team for making our New York Christmas Vacation so memorable and enjoyable!

Great hotel in mid Town. The room was smaller side, but the service was outstanding! Very well taken care of and attention to the details.

I typically stay at the Andaz when visiting NYC. Very large rooms for NYC standards, friendly front desk staff and always clean. Recommend for business travel or a central spot for sightseeing.

Amazing rooms, amenities, and customer service. We loved hanging out at wine hour and talking with Pranay. Favorite part of our stay at Andaz!

Changing my rating from 3 to 1 stars. Was not a pleasurable experience.

1. Toilet did not work and it took the hotel 3-4 hours and two phone calls to have someone come look at it.

2. Valet was an hour late and I missed my appointment.

3. Was using award nights as a globalist and confirmed with the hotel a couple times that I would not be charged parking however, was charged after my stay - although this was later resolved I should not have to reach out to the hotel to dispute the charge when they have repeatedly stated that there will be no charge.

Just an awful experience, and after having stayed at this hotel for over 200 nights in the last decade and had good to great service, it is extremely disappointing to now see the poor state of management here now. Booked my room, a suite, weeks in advance, explained that I had dinner reservations and a reservation for a Broadway show the day I was checking in. I am a Lifetime Globalist at Hyatt, the highest achievable level. No accomodation for an early check in (3 pm instead of 4), and much worse the room is not ready 90 minutes after the promised 4 pm time. So dinner reservations shot and unlikely to make the show. I even asked for a lower tier room to use for an hour where we could at least get ready for the dinner and show, and that was refused even though such an a room was available. So management at the property has an available solution for the lengthy delay in getting my reserved room ready, but refused to make that simple accommodation. Needless to say, I will avoid this property and other Hyatt properties in the future and suggest others look elsewhere as well. But it's a shame that Hyatt has not been able to maintain its standards at this, supposedly a premier property.

We stayed here for the NYC marathon since the race shuttles pickup across the street at the NY Public Library.also very convenient for public transportation.the staff we encountered were great, friendly, and helpful.the rooms are large with very high ceilings.the bed, one of the comfiest I've slept in.materials / design feels a bit dated but ok.the fitness center / gym, although small, had plenty of equipment (cardio machines, peloton, kettlebells, dumbbells up to 50lbs, cable machine, foam rollers, etc).

minibar is free excluding alcoholic drinks and refreshed daily.unfortunately ours was not refreshed one day but asking the front desk to replenish it when we were out for dinner addressed that.and for some reason, our body wash was not full when we arrived and when asked for another one, we didn't receive it.but not really worth deducting a star for that.

I booked this hotel for 800 dollars a night and after spending all day traveling was told they over booked me and sent me to another hotel. You'd think for so much money they'd be more professional.

Stayed in May. Lovely staff; welcoming and helpful. Food and drinks were excellent. Great service in the restaurant. *The restaurant could use a few more options for meals (breakfast and dinner). Love that food was primarily locally sourced. Room was spacious (2). Bathroom was incredible. Loved the
programmable bidet. Great view of the old majestic old New York Library. The location is convenient to a variety of shopping, restaurants, bars etc. Only negative was that hailing taxi's should be offered from w/ in, especially when there is inclement weather. Yes, I will recommend you to friends /family.

Amazing place to stay for the NYC marathon, including the water coffee and snacks they provided to runners heading out in the early morning!

Andaz is conveniently located in midtown but away from the tourists and noise in times sq. I prefer Chelsea/ west village but Andaz is close to Broadway shows, Central Park and UWS, UES. To get to the west side, you can do 7 train that connects with 1 and ACE (and b train takes you straight to museum of natural history!) To get to the east side, just walk to grand central and take 456.

The staff is friendly. The view is great especially if you book the 5th ave suite:)

Really enjoyed this hotel. Great rooms and bathroom (dual sinks and amazing shower). Had a standard king and it had a separate "living" area separated by a small wall. Enjoyed the complimentary nonalcoholic minibar with Saratoga sparking and still water (thanks to Basil for keeping it stocked with what we liked). Really nice staff all around.
