Bakery Angela's Cake reviews
10 The cake was a work of art. That said, the experience was downhill from there. The red frosting that was used was practically indelible.
Had a weird after taste. It was a day or two before the RED was gone from my hands. Terms of transaction were not revealed until receipt was given. A certain amount will be kept by the bakery, no matter the circumstances. " BUYER BEWARE".
Way too dense and sweet. Over baked! Didn’t know that was a thing. 3 strikes and you’re out! Never again. El bizcocho estaba muy duro.
This bakery makes the best Dominican cakes for all occasions. Having a large party in 2 weeks? They got you! Have a small get-together and you need a cake last minute? They got you! Craving something small and sweet? They got you! Personal sized cakes with a variety of fillings with our without their sweet fluffy suspiro. They do not disappoint! The only thing is be sure to carry cash as sometimes their machines are down.
Packaged very well. Beautiful work always done here and the cake taste amazing. Just in time! They never fail!
Cakes are good but the customer service is horrible! Always answering the phone with an attitude as if they don’t want to take orders! They want to overcharge for every single detail or tell you one price on the phone and then ask for a different amount when you pick up!
You ask for a certain filling and get a surprise different filling inside! I definitely think they over book because cakes are never ready on time. After a few disappointing cakes i am finally done ordering cakes from them! I’ll spend my money where they appreciate their clients!
My cake was ready on time, no complaints there. They weren’t rude, so no complaints there. But I have to agree with other reviewers it’s very sweet, and the guava is a bit sour and not pure like it use to be. The frosting smelled super fresh from the box but it’s way too thick and the consistency is idk gooey or something. Makes it impossible to eat the frosting and let alone cut the cake. I prefer a thinner less sugary frosting. The cake itself inside was great.
Update: after a few days the cake was still great and edible. The masa was soft inside after being in the fridge. The frosting had that crunch but was edible and better that way. It was a personal cake so it worked out for me lol. I enjoyed the cake.
Hands down my new favorite cake place. Traditional Dominican cake made perfect it was so good. Everyone loved it!
Very beautiful cake and well done. Was a huge success in surprising my baby girl and the taste was fresh and tasty too. Will definitely buy again and recommend. Thank you
My friend cupcakes were really perfect and the price was good too lol staff was nice. Will be returning
First I would like to say I have been buying Angelas cakes since she started selling out of her apartment many years ago before she opened her bakery. Hers were the only Dominican cakes I would buy.
That being said It had been quite a while since I had gotten one of her cakes. I purchased one for my sons Birthday this week and was unpleasantly surprised. The bottom layer was over baked and dry as cardboard, the top layer was a bit more moist and the guava filling was not the guava filling she used to use. The filling was gelatinous and artificial tasting and overly sweet. The flavor of the cake was there but the over use of sugar made it impossible to eat without a large glass of water. I know Angela is not the one makeing the cakes due to personal reasons, and it very clearly shows. Everyone who was served cake was unable to finish it due to it being too sweet. Who ever is in charge of making these cakes now truely needs to scale back the sugar.
