I adopted an emergency placement pet. They have Behavior and Medical notes. The application was mostly online. I placed a deposit and made an appointment. Overall I'm happy with the adoption and so is my pet.

The adoption process at this place is truly horrendous. Went there to adopt a cat and even though I had applied online still had to be placed on a waitlist. Waited 2 hours to be led upstairs to be told the cat I was interested in was given to a group. Why send them to be overwhelmed somewhere with other pets instead of letting the pet be adopted into a loving home? I’ll tell you why, PREFERENCE Beforehand, no one answered the phone but when I got there the phones were being answered. A lot of staff just walking back and forth not being helpful in the slightest. I WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE TO ADOPT A PET. Not until this process is fixed and remedied.

I spoke to Melissa regarding a food pick up and she was so so wonderful. I didn't catch the young man's name at the door but everyone here is so warm and friendly. Please come adopt from acc and save a life!

My son took his pitbull/chocolate lab, 2 give her up 4 adoption. It broke our hearts because it turned out that his daughter had allergies. He tried 2 find her a home, but was unable. Praying that this place found her a good home.

The women in charge (The Very Ellen DeGeneres type / Grey hair). @ the event on 7/15/23 at Columbus Circle. Manhattan. Was very rude. & Also she was cherry picking people. For the best pets. I would never adopt from Acc. Ever again. That bull dagger needs mental Counseling.

They were amazing and nice. Helped us out and made sure we were happy with our choices. Gave us first hand information about the cats. Highly recommend!

Asher and I came home on Thursday June 22 at 4: 45 pm. I was so excited to introduce him to his new home! I opened his box and it took him only 2mins.to get out of it and start looking around! I fed him immediately, Asher has a great appetite! I showed him where he will eat, drink and where the cat pan is, after an accident of stool and urine at the front door, but that was it and from then on he was scratching in his pan! He has the full run of the apartment, and has established his favorite places already and he sleeps with me every night and we play as often as possible. Asher is the Perfect kitten for me! I pray for good health and a long life for him, so we can be best loving friends!

I Do not recommend this place at all. I Have been looking to get a cat/kitten for a while and was going to buy. Ran across some news articles online about how nyc adoptions centers are bombarded by a record amount of cats and dogs so I decided I would take a look at some since I live a couple blocks away. It was a hour wait on a Sunday. The volunteers are not very personable. The lead volunteer upstairs was intolerable. I did not catch her name. She is probably the most arrogant person I have ever met. You would think with all the animals here you would make the process more positive and seamless. It was as if she didnt want anyone to adopt any animals and was making the process as hard as possible which is the oddest thing ever! No one guides you! Your just on your own to look at the animals. This lady was so distasteful it wasnt even worth the hassle. So unfortunate! Because a prospective cat or kitten would have had a great home with me but you guys push away prospective adoptees! Work on the customer service and lets be more personable and kind to prospective adoptees. My advice go elsewhere.

I surrendered my dog I ended up getting him back 4days later, thank God they let me get him back. Since he been home he been sick bad I don't know what happened while he was in there. Plus he had a scratch near his eye, my dog never been sick until I got him back from this place I am so upset. I want to know what happened to my dog and I'm gonna call them tomorrow and ask a few questions. I been trying to call since I notice my dog got sick but I can't get a hold of them.

The city shelter, What’s to rate? Please, please Stop by or tell a friend to rescue as many of the abandoned pets that are available. Since the pandemic, many people bought pets and realized they couldn’t commit. So decided to flake out and abandon these poor animals. These people should be ashamed of themselves. Again, please come on over to your local shelter and help out. Thx

Really great staff! Demi was super helpful and informative about which cat would work best for us. You can tell the staff really cares about what they’re doing and really want the best for the animals. Thank you guys for helping us find Fuzzy.

The team from Community Pets by way of The Toby Project’s mobile clinic was awesome, especially Jessica. They really care about the pets and their owners. My family and I am forever grateful!

My kids and I lost our dog 1-5-2022 and never stopped looking for him. I filed a missing dog report with ACC and to our surprise he was brought to shelter 6/23/23. I saw his profile on line and was never contacted. I took a long train ride to animal shelter in 326 and he was not there. According to the office he was shipped out 6/28/23 to ASCPA. ASCPA contacted me
Several times and he was never sent to their shelter. All my kids and I wanted to say good bye to our beloved Gizmo AKk moon. I know he was a older dog and by now major health issues because it’s over a year. I felt he was put down and no one wanted to admit it. My 10 year never got over Gimzo and only wanted to say goodbye.
Thanks to all the people ASCPA who kept checking in to see if we found him at ACC where he was last. At least if we can get Moon’ death certificate for complete closure.
To young lady at ACC who was very nice over phone and in person thank you for trying. If my information was in the system why we were not contacted.

Very crowded/hot shelter, staff seems kind but sadly overworked, animals are adorable, smooth adoption process!
