Such an amazing place! I instantly fell in love with a fluffy loving cat and now he has a safe and loving family that he keeps entertained with his shenanigans.

Such a wonderful experience! I instantly fell in love with a pair of kittens and put in an application and heard from Gail the following morning! They truly care about their animals and check your vet and two friends as references to make sure they are placing their animals in the BEST home! Their communication is amazing and Gail and Amanda were incredible to go through this process with! Thank you all for everything you do, I cannot reccomend enough!

I adopted a kitten from there - the volunteers were great and I have recommended a few friends there. They are also loving their new pets. There are a lot more great animals there, if you are looking for a pet you should check there first!

Very nice facility. They are VERY strict about their adoption policies just to let you know.

RIDICULOUS. $325 for a dog. Last time we adopted a dog from here, it was in between $50 & $75.too many animals WILL DIE because of these Prices.its quite HEARTBREAKING. OUR PRAYERS ARE WITH THE ANIMALS & THE WORKERS.
I'm going to check out NEWBURGH pet adoption center. They've ALWAYS had REASONABLE PRICES. (Beacon is taking advantage of people's $$, just because people from the city are moving there. And that's Exactly what I & the community are seeing & dealing with PERSONALLY.)

Great place! One of my favorite places! You can take a dog for a walk by a beautiful creek!

We just got a dog from here. They were super nice and professional and the process was smooth. She is a beauty and we are already in love.

Unfortunately some signs point to "rescue hoarding" - a term you can Google & decide for yourself. I hope I am wrong.

But it seems like just a fraction of the animals get adopted for all the ones that the manager labels "unavailable" or "lifers. " Reasons are not forthcoming & it is common to see the same animals after returning to the area years later. One spent literally 18 years as she denied applicant after applicant his entire life.

Heartbreaking experiences- not ok. I pray there is intervention or new management so all animals there can experience families & homes.

This is a lovely 100% volunteer based animal rescue. I live in NYC and managed to come visit the rescue to speak with the long-time volunteers about how to help out. These wonderful people have been doing this for 30 years and should be given as much support as possible!

A place full of wonderful animals and loving volunteers.

I highly do not recommend. Applied for a kitten a month ago. Followed up a few times. No answer. After reading the bad reviews it made sense to me that this place is being run by some crazy cat lady who doesn’t have time to get back to people or doesn’t want to.the vibe of the shelter is very off base. The staff/volunteers are nice which is the only reason I’d even give one star. Meanwhile we decided to go to Hi Tor animal shelter in Pomona and were approved for a cat in less than 24 hours. He’s very happy in his new home, unfortunately that can’t be said for the cats at animal “rescue” foundation

We adopted a pup three years ago and although she’s perfect and wonderful now, she came with a very contagious to humans parasitic infection which our vet had to treat the moment we adopted her and it caused us distress and was expensive.
Despite this experience, in good faith, we went back recently to ARF to adopt a pup and immediately fell in love with one but we were put through two agonizing weeks of application, numerous calls and phone interviews and being toyed with. Despite being returning parents (twice) we were denied based on excuses that are intolerable. We feel that the decision to deny us was made the moment we walked in.
Based on my experiences, I would highly recommend going to other shelters.
