Antonio Prieto Salon reviews
20Loved Lawrence for color and Cristo for a blow dry that some how lasted throughout a hot summer day!
Cristo did an incredible job coloring and highlighting my hair. It is exactly what I wanted! I highly recommend Cristo.
Arlene's haircuts are always amazing! I can count on having a pleasant experience at this lovely salon.
I have been a client of Antonio since her arrived in NY - he is a genius stylist and Reni is a superior colorist - the entire team is amazing.
Received an amazing cut from Arleen! She gave so much shape and dimension to my long thick hair without taking off length. Highly recommend!
Phillip took a lot of time and patience to reshape my hair into a manageable style l love.
Had a haircut & blowout last Saturday with Arleen and could not be happier with the results! I can't imagine going somewhere else going forward. Highly recommend. Arleen was absolutely fantastic, and everyone else working in the salon was lovely.
I got my haircut from Antonio and balayage/color from Reni. What I loved most about the salon was that they leaned into my natural hair texture/shape and enhanced it! You could tell they were both super knowledgable about hair. I felt like I got a custom hairstyle that still felt like me, just 10x better.
Highly recommend this salon if you want a haircut and color with someone who can give you personalized advice and tailor a style that works best for you and your lifestyle. Thanks so much!
Philip is an incredible stylist! He was extremely kind and meticulous and gave me one of the best haircuts I've ever had! Highly recommend this wonderful salon.
My cut and color were extraordinary as always AND this time my granddaughter joined me.fantastic!
I have been visiting Antonio Prieto Salon for over 15 years. All the staff is lovely. Antonio, Brian and Lorelle give phenomenal cuts! Reni is the most skilled colorist I’ve ever had and is a wonderful human. Can’t recommend this salon more highly.
Best haircut in a very long time. Philip is very talented and intuitive.
Another great haircut by Philip! What makes it the cut superior is that I am able style it after I wash it. I have limited blow drying skills and Philip cut my hair with those limitations in mind.
I never write reviews, and I was really trying to avoid writing one in this case, but here we are. After a long hiatus, I decided on a whim to treat myself to color. At the recommendation of a friend and after reading a lot of reviews and perusing Instagram, I booked a last-minute appointment with Reni at Antonio Prieto salon for highlights. I was transparent at the beginning of my appointment that I had used boxed dye several months ago and showed a picture of the color I was hoping to achieve. Reni said my hair was too dark and because of that and the box dye, suggested something different, saying we should go "one to two shades lighter. " I agreed. Many hours, multiple comments about how bad it is used to box dye and Pantene shampoo, and $525 later, I had a color I didn't love and wasn't close to what I wanted, but I decided to give myself a few days to see if it it grew on me since it was a big change. It did not, and seemed very inconsistently applied with large patches in spots.
A few days after my appointment I was on Instagram again and happened to open Reni's page in which I saw she shared a post from someone else about the difficulties of lightening dark hair and wrote the following, in her own words, "Reminder to myself to be kind to myself, and this is the reality of removing dark color. I had a client w box dye the other day, & although I know (I know), I lost sleep over her hair. At the end of the process I did not like it. The client did however, but I just beat myself up so much over it bc it's not what I wanted. A moment of transparency and weakness that sometimes I don't like my work, but also even wizards have limits. "
I sent her a message on Instagram and she confirmed she was indeed talking about me. To say this is unprofessional and uncalled for is a major understatement. If she was not confident in what she suggested for my hair when I provided full transparency about my history and routines, why would she allow me to sit there for hours and pay for a very expensive service? This is akin to robbery. It's also a real head-scratcher that an Instagram page primarily used to document her work as a colorist is used to post things about not being able to achieve what she herself said she could do, not to mention it's a major disserve to the salon.
I sent an email with this information to the salon, and Antonio himself prompty called me. Antonio was appalled and apologetic, and did proceed with a full refund as well as made me an appointment with his lead colorist, but he also did not fully offer this service complimentary, instead he gave me the option to pay if I was happy with the color.
Yesterday I realized that Reni blocked me on Instragram. Personally, I couldn't care less; however, I sent another email to the salon to cancel the additional color appointment and ask them to confirm that she is not continuing to post negative statements about me, my hair or this situation. I cannot return to that salon when their employee is so willing to engage in unprofessional, childish, rude, and mean behavior.
If you want to be shamed for box dye and the hair products you use, be humiliated on social media, and pay a lot of money for sub-par color (by the colorist's own admission), then this is the salon for you.
Lorelle was meticulous and a master at her craft! I went in with long heavy hair and she transformed it with layers and created movement and breathable lightness without affecting volume. The curling also stay longer now that my hair is lighter. I highly recommend Lorelle for a graceful dynamic haircut!
I give Antonio Pietro Salon 5 stars
professional, thoughtful and do an amazing job on my hair for dying and cut
I have been coming to this salon for years. The space is wonderful and I love my hair colorist, John O. He is an artist with hair.
No wait, appointment was easy to make, friendly staff, knowledgeable. No rushing. They take their time and like what they do.
Saw ruth for a cut and she touched up my undercut as well! Unexpected surprise and it turned out great, better than most barbershops near me. She was super friendly as was all of the staff, would 10/10 recommend
I love this salon! Antonio is a real-life Edward Scissorhands, he is a total genius. And he trains his people so well, everyone there is wonderful. I am lazy and need a "wash and wear" style, and they totally accept that and give me a style that works for my hair and requires basically no work. And my cuts last a long time, they still look great 2-3 months later! I will never go anywhere else. The people here are top-notch and they really care.
I love Antonio. He’s the best stylist, his employees will make you look amazing, he’s totally keen with what works well for your face-and he’s incredibly kind.
