Applejack Diner reviews
15We went because they had a good offer on the Happy Hours for some of the drinks and cocktails which were good. The food was just standard or at least what we had. What we didn't like at the end is that they gave us a bill which wasn't clear and properly broken down and they had already included a 20% tip. I know in the States there is a strong tipping culture, but it is still not mandatory and it is something personal, depending on the food and the service that you receive. Doing it like this you feel you are being ripped off and you don't feel like leaving any tip in the end.
I really like the atmosphere of this place. We indulged in an early morning breakfast among rest of the diners. Service was great and food was ok although a bit pricy. Worth the experience! Highly recommended!
Food was terrific and service was outstanding. Great portions and reasonably priced for NYC.
An unassuming place with good food and great service. It’s a good place for almost anyone as they have a large selection of items and daily specials. Maria is a gem and very helpful.
I'm rating this as a diner and not a fancy steakhouse. I ate there twice in a row during my trip to NYC. First meal was a cheese omelette and the second time was lasagna. The omelette was cooked to perfection but honestly the highlight was the homemade orangeade. Nice and frothy and very refreshing. The lasagna was surprisingly very good. I grew up on Italian food and diners usually make bland sauce. Not here, the lasagna has a lot of flavor to it. The service was fantastic. They were always checking on me. I will definitely come back here again.
I was visiting NYC for a week and tried many places to eat. This is by far, the best place to eat. Service was the best, food was the best.great atmosphere and friendly staff. Reasonably priced and didn't have to wait a long time for food. This is the best restaurant in town by far!
We went there for 2 breakfasts in one week. Simple and efficient. Count 25 dollar per person which is often cheaper than the same service at the hotel. Impeccable Latin service. Thanks to the team for their welcome. I recommend. The quantity served is perfect to last a good part of the day.
You all know I a. A Diner junkie and I love breakfast. Well, this place will not disappoint you. The omelet was good, and the coffee was definitely on point. I was transported to the fifties and fell in love with the atmosphere, and the food was excellent.
This place was located around the corner from my hotel. Based on reviews I settled on going for breakfast. The staff was great, service was fast. Looking around I feel I have had a quintessential NY diner experience. Only sitting in one of the booths would have made the atmosphere perfect but we were a small party and had no need of a large booth table.
The menu had some neat offerings such as waffles with ice cream or a sundae. Food was typical diner fare. Not bad. A bit different than expected. Being a southerner, deli ham and sausage at breakfast were unexpected but the flavors were fine. If I have the chance to come back, I’ll definitely try one of their omelets or a Benedict.
During our week in New York, we went there twice. The food is delicious and plentiful! In addition the servers are really friendly and smiling. To recommend
This New York diner is one of the better diners around the Times Square area. The decor is traditional and the ambiance cosy and inviting. It seems to have been around for a long time so there is some history to this place with pictures of famous diners who frequented in the past. Definitely feel this is a place worth coming to if you want the experience of a traditional New York diner breakfast.
Excellent diner, typical American, good food, impeccable service and super welcoming MARIA.
The food was delicious and the staff were all so friendly and kind. Food and drinks were served very quick and we felt very well taken care of. Definitely would eat here again!
It's very close to time square, they have a menu of typical American food, I really didn't have faith in it, but it was quite tasty and with a generous amount. Some Mexicans served us so there are no problems for people who have trouble with the language.
That if they should improve the presentation of the outdoor tables.
