I could not recommend a doctor more highly than I recommend Dr. Akhavan. He’s an incredible doctor and I feel extremely fortunate to have found and chosen him for what we needed.

We brought our infant to see Dr. Ahkavan after a few visits and horrific procedure with a local pediatric urologist. While both docs felt he needed a pyleplasty for his hydronephrosis, Dr. Akhavan was able to do it robotically and with just 1 inpatient night whereas the other urologist would perform open surgery incl 5 nights in the hospital. Dr. Ahkavan is brilliant, thorough and kind and I feel incredibly blessed to have found him for my son. He is well worth the travel and inconveniences of nyc.

Dr Akhavan was polite, caring, thorough, knowledgeable, patient and confident - all characteristics that we were looking for in a provider. Strongly recommend him and feel very good about him caring for our child.

We love Dr.akhavan. What more can I say? We trust him completely. He is a very caring and personable doctor. He answers emails very quickly and doesn’t rush you in and out of your appts, answers all your questions. You can tell he really does care about your child. I wish we could see him for everything not just urology issues:)

Great doctor! Glad we saw him for a second opinion, explained everything in scientific terms, unlike the first doctor we saw and confirmed my suspicion about the need to have an invasive procedure recommended by the first doctor. Dr. Akhavan was absolutely amazing and extremely knowledgeable. We went to him for a second opinion for a surgery my son needed prior to turning 1. During the initial zoom session, he explained all details of the surgery and showed that he was truly an expert within his field. He eased our minds during a time we were most worried for our baby. He gave us confidence that we were making the right decision. Prior to, during and after the surgery he was there every step of the way. We would highly recommend him and we are forever grateful for the time, effort and care he provided us and most importantly our son!

Dr. Akhavan is an excellent pediatric urologist. He is very knowledgeable, listens carefully and takes your concerns seriously.

Dr. Akhavan performed a complex kidney operation on our child, and it was wildly successful! Throughout the process (nuclear medicine scans, ultrasounds, tele-visits, etc.) he kept us informed, set our expectations appropriately and was very responsive to some of our odd ball questions.
