I told a friend I was jokingly thinking of getting a makeover and she literally steered me into this salon where Lina gave me a free consultation. She played with my hair and told me what I should do with it. I went home and thought about it, I agreed with her and came back for the cut. It was fantastic! She totally transformed my look and I have never had so many compliments. Thank you Lina!

Amazing customer service, such a fun team. I see Georgia for my haircut and she is wonderful. I called on a Tuesday and was able to make an appointment for Saturday. Could not recommend this place enough!

I NEVER LOVED MY HAIR THE MOST! Thanks to everybody, you guys are great? You have to always believe that you know what you’re doing! Thanks to the teachers and Demisha (I’m sorry if I misspelled) ?

This salon is a tad expensive but I keep coming back because Krystal is the best. The girl literally does it all there. She is an incredible colorist and cares so deeply about her clients. If you go, ask for Krystal!

Totally deceptive and ridiculous pricing. I went for a color correction and it took 5 hours. Didn’t tell me the $328 price until I was about to leave. Worst experience of my life. Never coming here again.

I went with an idea and came out with what I always wanted but didn't know how to convey it! My hair was a mess and Georgia (I hope I spelled your name right!) Fixed it right up! Each snip of the scissor changed my hair and I saw how beautiful my hair was slowly transforming. I feel like a new person! The service was impeccable and Georgia, the stylist, was sweet and awesome! Highly recommend going to her!: D thank you!

Nick Arrojo has been cutting my hair for over 20 years and I'm still getting compliments from people (including other hairdressers) on the cut! Nick is world class!

I had the best experience with Kimberly at Arrojo! She was incredibly patient, thoughtful, and considerate as she cut my hair. She consistently made sure to check in with me, had a gentle touch, and cut my hair exactly how I wanted. It was overall a great experience and I can’t wait to return.

Messed up my root retouch and didn’t know how to style curly hair. Damaged my hair so much. Someone saw me coming out of the salon asked what happened to my hair and how a salon could do that to me

I came to get my haircut here a few months ago while I was a student at their cosmetology program. I wanted to see what it was like on the other side so I set up an appointment to what would be my worst haircut I had in my life. While making the appointment the secretaries had to let me know that they would have to see which stylist would want to take me as my student discount would "take from their paycheck". I ignored that comment then, but I should have just backed out. Dumb enough I said ok and got set up with someone. During my appointment the woman was nice, however I asked for a mullet and had numerous reference photos. Additionally, as a student I had a feel of what methods they used for it. The reference picture showed a shaggy mullet with long square layers that reach the shoulder, with the layers on top reaching the brows and ears. Tell me how she confidently goes in and cuts me a pixie that doesn't even go down my neck. I was so shocked at how inexperienced this person was I just sat there and let it happen, after all, she can't glue the hair back to my head. She already chopped my hair off by the time I could tell she had no clue what she was doing. I don't want to say she sucked because as a student myself I know it can be hard. However, there is clearly something wrong if a very popular hair trend cannot be achieved in a salon that prides itself on discipline and prestige and providing advanced education to its staff.
For a lack of better words, I was taught that every salons attitude will represent their primary clientele. I know hold that with me forever. Only go here if you like long layers, bobs/lobs, etc. I would say they specialize in classic cuts only.
I am still growing out this mistake to this day. It is now the length that I asked for to begin with. I still had to pay too. It was like 50 something with my discount. Imagine paying full price and tip for a mistake, yikes I would never. Go somewhere else there is so many other quality salons that offer a variety of styles than this one.

Went with my friend to get her hair glazed. The end result was nice but the people. I just need to state that 1st of all she was supposed to be taken at the student salon (according to the woman on the phone) but was then taken to the other professional one. 2nd of all the woman who greeted us at the student salon was by far the rudest person to encounter behaving so judgmentally and glaring.

Lindsey did well with the hair color but if it were not for Cynthia coming in at the end the hair would have looked awful because she seemed to be the only one who knew how to style curly hair. If you have curly hair ASK FOR CYNTHIA and the prof salon!

I went to Arrojo today as a model client assigned to Nicole Berger. I have fine curly hair that can be hard to cut/style for definition and volume. Nicole gave me the most wonderful haircut I’ve had in my 28 years of life. She was talented, kind and took expert care of each one of my curls. I left feeling so happy, pampered, and grateful. Thank you Arrojo and thank you Nicole!

I had a very nice experience with a hairdresser. She was amazing, my haircut is just what I had asked for. BUT then I spoke with a colorist. I am letting my hair go grey and was looking for a transitional color may be a grey wash something to blend in my hair with my roots. Her comments were “wow your hair grow really slowly, ” “I’m not sure you are going to like what’s coming” “it’s really going to age you” “with your skin tone you’ll need warmth” (I’m a white middle aged woman like there are millions with salt and pepper hair) “I could do highlights but then they’ll be blond and that wouldn’t go on you” and she concluded “there is nothing I can do for you” with a face like “gross” what was that about? I was happy with the haircut but left the salon feeling really down about my hair.

I’ve had an excellent experience with a men’s haircut and highlights. Definitely a great spot for experimenting and getting style advice.

I have been going to Arrojo studio’s for fifteen years. Outstanding customer service and friendly staff. Lina cuts my hair and I can’t say enough about her. She is a master in the art of hair styling I have never been disappointed. I recommend Arrojo salon to anyone who is looking for an extraordinary experience!

Wish I could give this place negative five stars! Used to be a great place, but they are now scamming you! My wife went in to get a haircut and highlights (~$500 total), with specific instructions on the style that used to work like a charm in the past (she was a loyal customer since 2013). Except this time they did an awful job - and that's right before our vacation in Miami! They offered to fix it once we'd get back, but refuse to do so now that we have just arrived, claiming that it's past their arbitrary two week fixing period. Neither the colorist, nor the manager agreed to help. This place went downhill and deserves to shut down. Do yourself a favor and don't bring them any business. NYC is full of absolutely amazing and inspiring stylists, but you won't find them at Arrojo.

I've been a client at this salon for years and loved my old stylist and colorist but the place has definitely changed for the worst. It appears that they not only let go all their better stylists and colorists, but the customer service is also awful.

I didn't have my hair done for all of 2020 because of COVID and finally made an appointment for the end of April 2021 to have my hair cut and colored before a trip to FL. My normal stylist and colorist no longer work there so I was assigned 2 new people. My hair is black and I wanted ombre hair color which is fun but easy to maintain. During my coloring session, I showed the colorist a dozen photos, indicated on my head where I wanted the color to start, and that I would never want color all the way to my roots because I would never want to maintain it. I didn't think I could be any more clear and yet instead of ombre going from my natural hair color to lighter ends, she gave me highlights all the way to my roots - the same color top to bottom. As I let the colorist, stylist and receptionist know I was unhappy with my hair when leaving, they all assured me I could come back and have it fixed after my trip to Miami. At no point did anyone tell me there was a limited window to do so. I ended up staying in Miami for the whole month of May and when I called about coming in to have it fixed, I was told it's too much past the 2 week window and I would have to pay for a whole new color session because my hair would have changed too much from the original color! I wish that were true but it's still the same color from top to bottom as opposed to fading from dark to light like I'd asked for.

The worst is the manager's decision to uphold the 2 week window despite the failure to inform me of that window by all 3 of the salon's staff who were present (colorist, stylist, and receptionist). That's an utter failure in management for not taking responsibility for the failures of the team and a failure in customer service overall.

As a final observation, the salon was quiet when I was there - operating well below capacity and now I understand why. They've lost the talent and the customer service is terrible, coming from management down.

This is a nice place, it’s just that some employees can ruin the experience for the costumers. There was a time when i had asked the hair dresser that i had an appointment with, what was the best way to keep a person’s hair looking as though it has alot of keratin, to make it look bouncy and awesome. The hair dresser replied in a fed up manner saying just don’t wash your hair. Keep in mind though i was not being rude or negative. I was actually very concerned because i like having alot of hair. Also on some days, when it’s almost time to close the salon, some of the employees throw their professionalism out the window. I kind of feel sad for some of the women that work here though. It seems as though, sometimes, they don’t have enough strength and/or energy to work thier shift for the day.
