A few months ago, I decided to finally learn bachata for real, and signed up for an all-inclusive monthly bootcamp from Steven and Kasia. The classes are well run, progressive, and focus on building blocks that we can stack together to form our own dances and patterns rather than simply learning advanced choreo to keep the class engaged. As the classes progress, S&K push us to more advanced technique, footwork, and timing. In just 2.5 months, now on my third bootcamp in a row, I feel so much better going to socials than I did before when just faking it with basic steps and salsa turn patterns.

As a bonus, S&K own the studio where there are classes, so we are never rushed to get out by the end of the hour. In fact, sometimes they are extremely generous and allow for small practicas before and after class to build muscle memory. 10/10 would recommend.

Best studio for learning bachata sensual! Kasia and Steven are not only great dancers and teacher, they also put in great effort in creating a community. Although I've only been learning for 2 months, I have fallen in love with the dance and the wonderful people here. Looking forward to learning and dancing more!

Since Day 1 of joining Bachata Classes with Steven and Kasia, I have been satisfied with what has been taught. The focus on fundamentals, and building up on that is what I needed. I recommend the classes to anybody wanting to learn Bachata Sensual.

I've been predominately an on-2 salsa dancer for much of my dancing career and previously would only go to salsa lessons and socials, until I met Kasia and Steven and started taking their sensual bachata classes. Besides being two of the nicest, good-humored, and pleasant humans I've met, Kasia and Steven are some of the most technical, knowledgable, and fun teachers I've had. They know how to dance bachata (and salsa) and they know how to teach what they know. Sensual bachata has its roots in traditional bachata, which started in the DR, and Kasia and Steven emphasize this fact: that you have to know traditional bachata before moving onto sensual. Rather than focusing on learning patterns and moves to showoff, Kasia and Steven teach us how to understand movement - meaning, understanding your body-weight distribution, your body height, angles, prep, execution, finish, other aspects of timing, and how to listen and understand your partner's movements. Sensual bachata is a beautiful and very technical dance, and Kasia and Steven break down the pieces like legos (as Kasia would say) and enable us to put the pieces together creatively with our dance partner while having an amazing time. I learn something new every class about movement and become a better dancer in not only bachata, but in salsa and other dance styles, as well. Kasia and Steven's sensual bachata classes have become an essential part of my dance curriculum. They've created and are continuously building a warm and welcoming community. Come try out their classes-you'll have a wonderful time and make friends while learning sensual bachata in a safe and respectful environment.

I had an amazing workshop and social here. Both instructors were explaining the fundamentals on both sides of the dance instead of just telling the class to copy the move. I really appreciated the pace of the class. Although there were a few more men/leading attending the workshop, there were helpers joining in, and everyone was so friendly.

What I was most impressed with was that most leaders were attentive to the followers and they made sure no one was getting hurt. I appreciated that and it made the social more enjoyable.

I also enjoyed the music! The floor was great to dance on and the locations was super convenient for me.

I'd definitely visit again when I'm in town.

I was looking to learn bachata and found Ktown Dance Studio - Art of Sensual Bachata. They have a few levels from beginner to intermediate-advance classes. Steven & Kasia are great instructors who invest their time making sure their students know the proper technique and go through the proper levels before advancing. They teach respect and boundaries in partner dancing which helps when it comes to social dancing. Their Saturday evening bachata socials are also very fun and lively with a free lesson included!
I like their unlimited monthly group lesson packages which is great if you want to join the different class levels. Everyone is friendly and it’s a great bachata community to join and dance together in! The studio is also very spacious and very new.
I highly recommend for anyone looking to learn bachata sensual or a regular bachata dance social to go to.

My sensual bachata journey began approximately two years ago at Art of Sensual Bachata, K-Town Studio, where I had the privilege of learning from exceptional instructors, Steven and Kasia. As a complete beginner, I had little understanding of the 1,2,3, and a tap count. Determined to fully immerse myself in this enchanting dance style, I eagerly enrolled in both private and group classes.

Additionally, I had the opportunity to validate my bachata skills in Seoul, South Korea—a vibrant city known as the Asian Barcelona, with advanced dancers and regular visits from top Spanish artists. And I could confirm that the technique is universal.

I've been dancing for over a decade and spent the last few years traveling the world to learn proper bachata sensual. I've been dancing with Steven and Kasia and their student instructors for about 3 months now and I absolutely have loved every single class! They teach at a great pace, make sure that they have you understand and utilize the fundamentals (especially if you're open to perfecting your basic), they are extremely patient and kind when answering questions from students and they host Saturday bachata socials! The teachers are funny, nice and you can tell they care about the students since they always give great tips and demos. I'm so grateful to be learning bachata from them because it inspired me to go to socials and I can honestly say that thanks to them I feel more feminine, sexy and confident and more importantly, that my basic has gotten so much better! Kasia and Steven take a uniquely nuanced approach to teaching bachata sensual, that really emphasizes a deep understanding of foundational movements and be able to connect with your partner.

Their approach is tailored to making sure leads really know how to lead and follows can really follow, by encouraging leads in the class to deviate from patterns, and see if the movement can still be understood.

I feel like when I leave class I have a much better sense of if I am actually able to lead the move, and that it’s not just being anticipated by the person I am dancing with
