Astoria Barbers reviews
15I highly recommend Ruben (second chair)! Went in for a haircut and he helped me out - a very nice dude! He is really skilled with fades. Will be back in two weeks!
Easily one of the best barbers in Astoria. Aron and his team provide top-quality hair cuts and trims with efficacy and professionalism. I myself get a beard trim and a shape-up, which, for the value, is better than other competitors in the area. Will be going back and making this my local!
Had the barber in the chair farther from the windows, shorter side with glasses. He cut my hair with such laser like focus it compared only to what I imagine a Renaissance sculpture looked like when chiseling marble. I highly recommend, he did an excellent job.
Excellent barbershop, stopped by as a walk-in to get my sons haricuts and Ruben and Mark did a fantastic job. Very friendly and really know how to cut hair and give an excellent fade. It's hard to find barbers who can do both excellently. Will definitely go back.
Great barbershop. Aron is super friendly and the place is very professional. They finish cuts with warm lather and a staight razor. Also really good COVID protocols. They'll cut your hair around your mask and make sure everyon is 6ft apart and wearing a mask.
IMPORTANT: I have seen other reviews saying the barber doesn't take Covid seriously. This is not true. The barbershop is safe and sanitary and distancing occurs between patrons. All barbers and patrons are required to wear masks.
This is my go to barber in Astoria. Aron and the others are always great and give an excellent haircut. I go here exclusively.
I have been coming to Astoria Barbers consistently for years now. Entire staff is highly trained and very professional. Owner Aaron is a top-notch barber and operator. He always does right by his clients and makes sure every one walks away having had a great experience. He takes great pride in his work and it shows.
The shop is always clean, and during covid, all the proper protocols are in place to make customers feel comfortable.
Overall, always an awesome experience and a go-to for an affordable, high quality cut.
I can't in good faith go back to this barbershop, which is a shame because I used to get some okay haircuts (and some not great ones). Last time I was in for a cut, I was the ONLY customer wearing a mask as the owner wasn't making people wear them inside the shop. Not only that, but the owner and another customer were talking about how "the media has made too big a deal out of covid" and how "it'll blow over soon". I also noticed that they were taking customers BEFORE phase 2, just with the shop windows closed so you couldn't tell from the outside. I realize that these are tough times for small business owners, but if someone doesn't have a mask, supply them with one. If they refuse to wear one, turn them away. It's for everyone's safety.
Can’t comment on the whole shop, but I’ve had my hair cut by the guy in the middle chair 3 times. Always asked for the same thing, got 3 different cuts. Improved from 1st to 2nd cut, figured I’d give him another shot because I didn’t feel like waiting for someone else and he always did good enough. 3rd time I said I want a 3 on the sides, he asks if I want a 1, I corrected him, he says OK and then he proceeds to use a 1 guard anyway. Now I’ve got 2 different haircuts depending on which side of my head you’re looking at.
To be fair, the owner came over immediately when I started complaining and offered to take over. Just glad I caught him right away so I don’t have a bunch of wedding photos with an almost skin fade that I didn’t want.
Good service, excellent image handling, professional machines and excellent cuts, what a great experience
Really a much needed haircut, was greeted as soon as I walked in. Place is clean and everyone seemed cool. Cut was quick and my girl said it looked great.
There is a Barbershop down the block from me and another around the corner but the 4 block walk is worth it, I've been a regular customer for a few years now and that's not about to change, I can alway count on any of the barber's to give me a quality haircut or in my case buzz cut LOL and the fact that it is reasonably priced is the icing on the cake.
I had the dude farthest from the window and he was dope. No nonsense, just a great haircut. Make sure you bring cash
I forgot to get his name, but the guy on the right (chair furthest from the window) gave me an awesome cut, could not be happier with it. Got many complements at work! I got in line before closing but with several other patrons ahead of me, he didn't get to me until after closing. He still gave me a cut though, very nice and patient.
Fantastic, clean, straightforward but thoroughly professional barber shop in the heart of east Astoria (or, as a relative newcomer, I like to call Eastoria). It is well located near and just east of the N/W line. I popped in early without an appointment, and the barber quickly and dutifully tended to me. For $17, I got a simple (i.e, older white-guy) cut with trimmers and scissors, and the barber both trimmed my neck, then shaved it with a straight razor. It had been 15 years since someone did that, and the previous person, for all his skill, nicked my neck. The Astoria Barber did a great, clean, nick-free job. I was very impressed.
It is cash only, so bring that. However, it is well worth the experience and price. They are pros here. Additionally they have very nice sports swag and a laid-back ambience. To put a finer point on it, their professionalism is enviable. Consequently, I will be back in a month for a cut and neck shave just like this. An Astoria staple. I love this joint.
