Atlas New York

Shaida was so attentive and helpful in my application and lease signing process. Atlas is such an incredible building with great amenities!

Building staff is awesome, but the senior Gotham management's policies are nonsensically rigid. Aside from the ridiculous Gotham policies, several downsides include:

• very cheap finishes - floors are the 89¢ /sq ft laminate floorboards, will see noticeable fraying on the edges due to the terrible quality

• the building is essentially on the outskirts of Times Square, so you'll be engulfed by tourists as soon as you walk outside; the sidewalks are coated in a layer of black/gray sludge due to the extremely high foot traffic, and your shoes quickly become filthy

• vagrancy - oftentimes there is an unsheltered individual camped out at the building's intersection at 38th and 6th

• due to it's location smack dab on one of the busiest parts of Manhattan, it's essentially impossible to sleep through the incessant random car horns unless you blast the fan/AC to act as white noise. I was on the 17th floor and it was definitely an issue

If you're reading this review, you likely noticed this building rents at a relative discount to its peers. The reasons above begin to explain what accounts for this markdown. Not the worst building, but absolutely has its drawbacks.

The building is great and has such a convenient mid town location. The staff and team at the Atlas have also been wonderful so far and we loved working with Shaida as our agent-she's fantastic!
