Auburn Obstetrics & Gynecology reviews
5I like auburn OB. I love all the midwives. Some doctors I’m not a fan of but some others might like them. The nurses answer every time you call, the on call midwives are extremely responsive and you get quick appts. And I feel heard here unlike other places I’ve been.
If I could give this practice 0 stars I would. When I was 32 weeks pregnant I was experiencing flashing lights in my vision, headaches, and extreme swelling. At this point it was a weekend so I called the on call to see if they would want me to go to labor & delivery to get checked out.was told to keep any eye out for it & if the flashing lights were to happen again to call. Monday came around & I get a call from the office saying that the doctor I talked to over the weekend wants me to come in to get checked out with their midwife Mary Lou. BIG MISTAKE. I went in & everything was fine till I got talking to Mary Lou. She pretty much told me that my swelling is caused by my diet.eating excessive amounts of salt (which I don’t & I rarely add salt to my food like that for it to be a problem) & that I need to drink more water (at this point I was drinking if not, then almost a gallon of water a day) didn’t bring up the fact that I was having headaches or flashing lights in my vision just dismissed it & pretty much talked about my weight and my diet the whole time. I ended up going to a different hospital the next day & when I was admitted my blood pressure was 160/116 and was told that I have severe preeclampsia. I was in the hospital for 2 weeks on blood pressure medicine before I had my baby 6 weeks early. Mary Lou almost killed me & my baby. I’ll NEVER be back to this practice.
This practice delivered my baby so I’ve seen all the midwives and doctors. Dr V is my regular OB. This practice is kind, compassionate and knowledgeable. I only wish they’d consider adding some evening or weekend hours for those who work. Maybe one evening a week or every other Saturday. My husband and I both had to take off of work for every sonogram because the last one of the day is 2pm. My work allowed me to make a new schedule for my checkups but not every employer is willing/able to do that!
Wonderful experience as far as an annual appointment can be. The staff is kind, patient and very caring. Dr. Paul is professional and makes her patients feel comfortable and safe. I highly recommend Dr. Paul and am grateful she was recommended to me.
