This place was marketed to me on zoc doc as being a doctor's office, but when I arrived it was actually a "neurological spa" offering things like Botox. I arrived 10 minutes late (because of F train issues) after leaving 2.5 hours early and was told I couldn't be seen even though the receptionist originally told me on the phone that I would be able to be seen because of their "15 minutes grace period. " Place lacks the compassion that an ACTUAL doctor's office or hospital would.

I can honestly say in my adult life this Women Dr. Jordan Shankle has to be the kindest, efficient, and overall really great spirited doctor I ever been to. She was so welcoming, didn't rush me out, and was very helpful in the results provided! I Highly recommend this brilliant black women for your next neurology appointment!

This place is so dirty, gross, and poorly staffed. Stqy far, far away. They have people getting ivs in the waiting room. It's a shame that zero stars is not an option. I see why they have such terrible reviews.

I made an appt with Dr. Kaur after a visit to the ER and upon arriving at the office, 25 minutes prior to my late afternoon appt, and having filled out 10 pages of forms prior to arrival, I was informed by the staff that the doctor wasn't there and I would be seen by a P. A.

When I questioned what had gone wrong, they said it was bc the person making the appt was working remotely and the supervisors, who were the only people made aware of the doctor's absence, didn't communicate with anyone else. Winnie, who is somehow a supervisor, came to the front desk and asked me about my medical condition. This is a person with no medical training, and she was asking me to speak in public about my condition. It was becoming clear where the breakdown in communication had occurred. When I refused to discuss my private health in public, she got very combative, had a terrible attitude, and continued to ask me to disclose private information to her. Mind you, I had already completed 10 pages of their forms explaining my condition. I became more and more agitated. Finally, when I said I would only speak privately, she took me to what amounted to a mop closet. Having just visited the ER and needing a diagnosis and treatment plan quickly, I felt stuck. I had waited all day for this appt.and I was back to square one.

They also demanded payment before even being seen by a professional, which I find really suspect.

I took a seat in their empty waiting room to try to make a new appt. I was feeling very lightheaded, so I a also trying to get my walking legs back. Winnie, the "supervisor, " resurfaced to tell me to leave. I explained again that I was dizzy, and she got combative again, telling me they needed my chair for their patients. There were roughly a dozen chairs and one other person in the waiting room. I told her I would leave as soon as I felt a little better, and she continued to try to argue that I needed to go outside.

Winnie, if you're reading this, I think you should try a job where you don't have to deal with people.

I had a very positive experience at this place.the PA I met with was very helpful and ordered some tests for me. They were able to do two of the in-house and they even did one the day I was there. I don't know about the other reviews I saw, but this place was really great!

DO NOT GO HERE!

This is literally the worst doctors office I’ve ever visited. To call this a doctors office when they refuse to let you see anyone other than the PA, even when you’re told you’re meeting with the doctor, is atrocious.

Everything Samantha said in her earlier review is my experience exactly (I won’t take the time to repeat). They made a mistake on the MRI order form. I paid $750 to get my MRI and then they said I needed to do it again. They told me it was my mistake and refused to pay for the second MRI, which would cost me another $750. It was clear from the two order forms in the system that I had been given an order form without contrast. They then updated my order form 4 hours after my appointment for with contrast. They never called me or told me anything about the change and I obviously wound up with a without contrast MRI for $750.

This place is a total scam. They are praying on people who are looking for any help that they can get - gross!

I have attached a picture of the front door so you make no mistakes.

Love Dr. Halpern & Nervana neurospa so much! After more than a decade of migraines, Dr. Halpern is the first doctor to have helped me find a solution! And the staff is friendly/helpful and facilities are beautiful!

I would not recommend this office to anyone for several reasons.
First, the office uses PAs instead of doctors. PAs may be able to advise on routine migraine matters/continuation of treatment, but they are NOT neurologists and are NOT qualified to be seeing patients who need to be diagnosed or have complicated issues. But the office will schedule you with a PA without even telling you that you will never be seen by the doctor again after your first appointment, if that.

Second, they are disorganized. They asked me to get several scans, etc.done for diagnosis, two of which needed to be done in their office, though I did not know this at the time. They only scheduled me for one of them, and then the ***PA*** blamed ME for not having the necessary diagnostics for my follow-up appointment. (“Remember you were supposed to get this test done? ” That’s curious, then why did you NOT schedule me for it at my appointment like you did with the other exam I got done in your office?) They clearly didn’t even review my exams before the appointment (though allegedly their whole team reviews patient information to come up with a plan of care), because the ***PA*** seemed to be going through the information for the first time. They made me come into an appointment just to tell me we had nothing to discuss without the other exam. Money mongering! And sloppiness! They could have called to tell me this, if they had even looked at my exams before my appointment.

Third, the office staff are friendly enough when you come in for a visit, but don’t call with a simple question about your care or they will quickly turn impatient and unkind. It’s not one bad seed—I spoke to SEVERAL of the staff, including the manager, and each behaved this way when I called with very reasonable questions. How sad! People are calling with very serious issues that are wrecking their lives, just seeking to understand, and you treat them like they are wasting your time and you couldn’t care less. Why are you working in a doctor’s office if you don’t want to answer patient questions? And why are you a receptionist if you can’t talk on the phone for more than 30 seconds without getting annoyed? Sad, sad!

Fourth, this office literally VIOLATES HIPAA! And doesn’t even care, gaslights you and tries to convince you they’re doing something normal! This reminds me I need to report them. I called to request my medical records (which is a patient right under the law) so that I could get a second opinion from another doctor. They REFUSED to release my records until I had another appointment with someone at THEIR office (i.e. Spent more money with them—more money-mongering!). And they also tried to lie talking about, “The information you’re requesting isn’t a medical record. ” Like what? This is illegal! I had to persuade three different people at the office to release my records.

Fifth, they are unprofessional! After this charade, the office manager apparently canceled all of my future appointments without telling me (I only asked her to cancel the appointment with the ***PA***, not the future appointment I had with the doctor) which I only learned today after calling about a payment matter. Unprofessional, petty, and actually really uncool because it is very hard to find appointments—I had set that appointment months ago.

The crazy part is, there’s actually more I could say, but this review is already really long. Honestly… I know some people will still end up going here, if only because it’s so hard to find an appointment somewhere. I would just say, please be aware that they care more about your money than about you. Frankly, they don’t care about you. Get what you can from them in terms of care, but do not trust them! They are not your friendly neighborhood doctors! (or rather PAs!)
