Aura Cocina, Brooklyn NY

Ok this place is very cute, but I feel they need to step up their game when it comes to service. Very slow. Food was good, but I also wasn’t creative so I can’t rate their other foods. Again service just took way to long and then they were kind of rushing us to finish since it closes after a certain time to open up as a club scene.

Loveeeeeee this restaurant so much we had dinner I order the salmon and it was absolutely delicious. The drinks were on point. The atmosphere was absolutely amazing. Live music, you can even get up and dance next to your table. Our server Jose Mario was on point super attentive and checked on us multiple times.

Needless to say I will be back!

The place has a good live music atmosphere. We spent 45 minutes sitting at a table waiting to be served. I only give the drinks 1 Star, they need to be improved. I ended up ordering a Cocacola. The appetizers were good very delicious. I ordered a fried rice with shrimp but the rice was very fried and with hard and burnt pieces of rice (it was not pleasant) we also ordered a ropavieja but it was still not to my liking! Very slow service in delivering drinks and food… Anyway, the place has an atmosphere but the rest didn't fill me up! I hope they can improve this for you

Came here on friday for my friend’s birthday, live music and atmosphere was amazing! Food and drinks really tasty our server Estefania was very attentive, she brought a dessert for my friends bday and a round of shots, thank you so much for everything aura cocina!

My family and I, a party of 3, were very disappointed by the way we were treated by the hostess upon arrival. We had an 8: 30pm reservation and we arrived at 8: 10pm. We were told we were too early and to wait by the bar. There were no seats and the bar was full so we waited on the side of the bar, in the way of the servers but there was no where else to stand. 4 tables opened up by 8: 20. The tables remained empty although the hostess knew we were waiting to be seated. When we asked, twice, if we may be seated at the open tables we were told no because since we were early there is now a grace period of 15 minutes we had to wait. That made no sense! I asked to speak to a manager and a head waiter then came out to speak with me. Upon explaining the predicament to him he said he did not know why we had not been seated and that there must be a mistake on the hostesses part. He went to speak with the hostess. At that point 2 other parties a table of 3 and a table of 7 were seated before us. The head waiter then put 2 small round tables together and sat us down. By this time it was 8: 50 pm. We sat down for 2 minutes and then got up and left. It was a less than desirable experience. Outside of the restaurant there was a sheet of ice and snow on all of the steps leading to the restaurant. One person in my party had a slip but thank goodness was not seriously hurt. They should really clean the outside area and make sure patrons can safely access the restaurant without danger of slipping on ice and snow. There was also garbage littered around the entrance. It is difficult to find the entrance to the restaurant and there is really no signage indicating where to enter. We traveled from Eastern Long Island which took an hour and a half. We would definitely not recommend this place at all based on the service we received upon arriving. Service matters! Your staff's professionalism matters! The ambiance is cute and the band was great but the staff seem like they are picking and choosing who sits where and when. We ended up at GUARAPO Latin Fusion Restaurant and sports Bar on N 3rd street in Williamsburg and it truly made up for the awful experience at Aura Cocina. The staff at GUARAPO was amazing. Super attentive and inviting. The owner even made the rounds to the tables. The Authentic food was DELICIOUS. There are many Puerto Rican delicacies to choose from as well as Cuban and Colombian dishes. Thank goodness we left Aura Cocina and stumbled upon this jewel! Some doors close so others open with a better outcome. Don't waste your time at Aura Cocina unless they get a new hostess and front door staff that does not scam people out of their reservations and skip others ahead! They lost out on a $450 bill and many potential future celebratory occassions for our family at their establishment. We will celebrate at GUARAPO!

Amazing time overall everything was amazing drinks food and the band…. I have to say I will be back next week!

I saw this place on Instagram, and believe me, music, food and service were beyond. Specially the last one. Our server was super nice a friendly, his suggestions were on point. I don’t know what we enjoyed the most our time at the bar waiting for our table (the place was super busy) or the time we were sat, cocktails were awesome and definitely hit the spot. I’m absolutely coming back. Ask for el Coco if you want that insta-video, and those sushi chef kiss! Thank you Aura! You all did great

New year’s eve party was pretty bad, they got the dj in the last minute and 30 min after the time they were supposed to start, btw the ticket cost 50 per awful service

I don’t generally write reviews. I get it restaurants have really rough moments but we were charged for food we never received, drinks we never received and double for shots. The server tried to apologize for the food not coming out in hopes that we would be ok canceling. He then proceeded to fix the bill by providing us additional shots. He then tried to charge gratuity on the original bill. Just asking not to be taken advantage of. Rough.

There's no organization or structure whatsoever. I purchased tickets to watch a comedy show and when I arrived with my mother we had to wait for a while just to get checked in. Then a bunch of us was asked to step aside and wait for a table to be available I waited for a while and noticed that the waiting area was empty and only me and my mom were standing, I approached the guy in charge and asked him if he can find a table because we where there before other people and they got sat, he told me to give him a minute that he was gonna look he “looked” came back and told me that he didn't have anything available this guy didn't even try he could've got us a chair or at least offer one to my mom who is disabled smh no humanity or compassion. I then walked back to my mom and told her what happened she told me she was in pain because she was standing for over an hour so we decided to leave. I was only trying to support a business and they ended up making me feel humiliated and discriminated against smh I can't support a business that only thinks about money and has no customer service at all. I will never return to this establishment.

Great spot! Came on a Friday night, had a live band, great music, great food and great drinks!

Terrible DJ, and very expensive, not worth it

When we arrived to celebrate New Year's they were not ready for the party, they didn't even have a DJ, we paid 50 dollars and it wasn't worth it, the drinks were 20 dollars and the DJ didn't count down.

I had such a blast, birthday weekend Flo. I need the recipe to those chips for the guacamole. The drinks were amazing. The service was Barun the best.

So my friends and I went for brunch. The atmosphere is lovely. They had live dj that definitely entertained the crowd. But the food had a few issues. My pregnant friend found hair in food and though they took it off the menu she was left hungry. I ordered well done fried eggs and came out runny still. The food looked better than it tasted.
