Babylon Animal Shelter reviews
14I was there this morning the post f9r the kitten was listed last night at 5PM. They claimed it was adopted the day before I witnessed the employee move the kitten from viewing to adopted. Except they close at 3: 15PM so I know an employee was the one who took the kitten. Thanks for wasting my valuable time. There was also another gentleman there as well who had a similar experience.
Chris is a very rude human being. Has zero respect to customer they lie about when they call you and how they called you. And they won’t take a dog when you bring it to them for rescue but will find a roaming dog and claim it even when owners come with all proof. They give you the run around for days then say they tried reaching you I’m so disappointed in this shelter my second time dealing with them they are horrible and so are Chris employees they also lie and give you the run around. Our tax money is being wasted by this shelter
Seat there for 15 minutes they ignored me, someone came after me got attended before me and very disrespectful rude way.
Way to go town employees, all support will be cut and good bye donations.
5 people talking in the front office, potencial supporters seating and waiting, they have 1 person showing, 1 cleaning and 5 talking, way to spend the tax payers money town of Babylon
Thank you so much for making my friends wish's come true she lost her very dear boxer and got a puppy from you. You guys are incredible thank you for what you do!
Staff was very friendly, caring, and professional. The place is well kept and clean. I definitely recommend anyone who are serious about adopting a pet to stop by here first.
Chris is very rude. For the $12,000 a year in taxes we pay you would think you want to do his job however he feels like the money is coming directly out of his pocket. Talks down to you like you're some kind of piece of garbage when asking for help. How do you open from 10: 00 a.m. To 3: 15 and expect people to come and volunteer or be able to adopt an animal I hope you're not killing yourself with the extended hours you're working Chris.
I think that it is the best municipal shelter on Long Island. The staff treat the animals as if they were family.
I want to share my joy with this shelter. My experience was wonderful the staff was professional and helpful. I adopted a beautiful dog and I am so happy with her. I must say Barbara at the shelter was so helpful and kind. She made the process go smoothly. Thank you so much!
My experience at this animal shelter was a great one. From the time I called on the phone to them helping me in person. As I walked In the door I saw everyone being kind and the place was clean. I was taken care of right away.
The staff showed their love for these animals in the way they handled and spoke to them. I hope each and every sweet dog and kitty finds their forever home soon!
Please think adoption.your next best friend is waiting for you!
This place took my dog & refused to give him back & claimed he was unfit to live & put him down against our discretion. Yes our dog was older & had a few health issues but he got out the house & a spiteful neighbor had him taken away we literally spent a day & a half looking for him before knowing where he was. We call the shelter & the owner Chris is the rudest most disgusting guy ever calling us bad owners because of our dogs age & condition. Keep in mind we’re fully aware our dog is older & not in the best shape but my girlfriends birthday was in 2 days & she just wanted to spend her birthday with him before finally putting him down (He has been to the vet before). Worst experience ever so traumatizing & he made it just so much more uncomfortable than the situation already was. This shelter lacks empathy my girlfriend is destroyed about the situation. I don’t usually do reviews but this place struck a different nerve with me & my family. DON’T EVER SUPPORT THIS PLACE.
I am looking 4 my baby chief he is a gray white brindle pitbull last known the aspca of ny had him please reunite me with my baby if u know anything gmaybe someone can help. Me thank u sooo much
I take the one star away, because as I read in another review, putting this address into both Waze and maps took me to a dead end. Apple Maps worked. You pass a bus depot on Sunrise Hwy, look out for the New Highway sign, and turn. It is a slight right to get in. This was my first time here. It is very clean, and they have an abundant amount of volunteers, who know everything about the animals there. I came home with a kitten, and the process was easy.
I was there 2 weeks ago when my family's dog pass away. He was 14 years old.the staff were very helpful and made me comfortable as I had to say goodbye to my family's 14 year dog they took him in and paid the fee he will be sended to the creamatory thanks to the staff who did Thier jobs. I will miss my family's pet.the animal shelter is the place to take animals who pass away
