Baiting Hollow Scout Camp- Boy Scouts of America reviews
10Spent a few summers here back in the 80's. Met some really great people. Beautiful campgrounds. Highly recommend.
Just had a great Thanksgiving feast with troop 349 it's a great camp for the scouts to stay overnight
Consistently awesome experience. Activities well organized by skillful, dedicated to staff
Great place to go family camping and scout camping troop camping and all the kids have a great and wonderful time.as they learn and work on merit badges also make great friends and memories
Considering the pandemic they are doing VERY WELL. Following all protocols and keeping everyone safe!
Great experience. I highly recommend you visit if you're interested seeing Andrew's lodge.
Had a wonderful day with the troop at the Sagtikos District Webelos Woods. Always enjoy ourselves at Baiting Hollow
I worked on the staff at Camp Baiting Hollow in 1965 & 1966. I really enjoyed my experience there. I lived and still live in WV. I never have been back but remember my time and think of the camp experience a lot.
My son and I camped at BHSC for a week about 20 years ago now, along with our local troop, Mike the scout master, and myself serving as assistant scout master, alongside a few other dad's with the same title.
We usually rented 2/ 15 passenger vans and drove 11 hours to the Adirondacks Upstate New York every year. What a treat Baiting Hollow was being 30 mins from home!
The Camp has a very unique topography for Long Island too. The elevation of this relatively small area compared to the rest of the Island that's flat, left me awestruck.
It's one of the highest points, or THE highest point, on Long Island. Once you turn into the entrance, immediately your overwhelmed by out-of-place scenery that looks like the mountains. Tall, old evergreen trees surround the entrance & parking area's. The hiking trails, some almost too steep to climb, lead to the camp site's. Then by continuing north downhill toward sea level the forest suddenly becomes sand dunes with incredible views of Long Island Sound and Connecticut's coast line.
I highly recommend this Boy Scout Camp, but book early there's usually a waiting list.
