15 I had Cevapi
The food was great. I made small sandwiches with the side sauce and cabbage it was great.
Next time I try to order my kebab more well done.
I went with a friend here for lunch for the first time as per recommendation of my good friend who is kumovi with the owners. The ambience was adorable, the staff hospitable and welcoming and the food was amazing! Will definitely come back again:) All the best!
Honestly very few places in this city have a 5 star rating, but when you go here you can understand why they do.
They hand make their dough (which you can see them do). They’re bureks are so light and fluffy, but so filling and yummy. It’s rare to be able to get something for 8 dollars and feel full in this city, but you can do that here. Their meat burek is a must have.
First time trying Balkan food and I absolutely loved. The MVP of the meal: THE BREAD! Highly recommend that. Some of the best bread I ever had!
I loved their beef kebab (ćevapi) and asked if it was gluten free (no breadcrumbs) and they confirmed yes. And they understood my question and answered it in a way that made me trust their response. I just got it without the bread. It was sooooooo tasty, perfectly cooked, juicy, fresh, high quality beef. I rarely eat out anymore because it’s hard to find quality meat and with my GF dietary restrictions - this place was perfect.
Delicious - ćevapi are better than most places in Serbia. This is the real deal.
Other than that, the staff is great, and prices are affordable.
In the hart of Manhattan, Balkan restaurant, amazing food, amazing service, and important.super super super clean restaurant
Excellent Balkan food! Reminded me of Kafana in Alphabet City. They hand pull the bread right in the kitchen window - delicious product. Will definitely return!
I had a potato and onion burek with small yogurt - like the potato knish of my dreams! That stretched filo dough is chewy and crispy in just the right measure. And the yogurt is the runny European-style yogurt that I love and can't ever find here (except at Trader Joe's!). The guy who served me was also super nice and we had a laugh about always being hungry! Highly recommend.
Food was amazing, the people that work there are great, and everything on the menu is worth a try:)
Really fresh and flavorful, at a great price. Great vibes too; obviously a lot of care is put into this place. Will return.
So glad we stopped by here, the burek (and everything else) was delicious. The owner was very friendly, you can tell he loves his food and is knowledgeable about it. He gave us side of Balkan cream cheese for our bread that was amazing. Good portions, reasonable prices, overall loved this spot ️
The best burek ever, cheese and spinach was my choice today.
I didn’t ask for a name of the guy who was working at the cash register but he was awesome, friendly and funny.
If you ever get anywhere near this bakery don’t miss a chance to go in and try anything on the menu!
Very basic menu but nailed every single item. That’s the way to go! You can’t go wrong here. I highly recommend.
Perfect place for a casual lunch or dinner, very authentic balkan food. Some of the best in New York City, with admirable prices. Highly recommend!
