I am a professional ballroom dancer and a teacher for the past 35 years. These days a lot of dance studios got shut down, so I was looking and looking in Brooklyn for the place to teach and was not successful till I ran into a friend of mine who gave me an information of Balmir Dance Society studio. I am very grateful for Jessica and her studio!
I felt alive today after teaching my first lesson after 8 months of being locked up since the quarantine started.

Newly renovated. So proud of my dance home! I want our community to enjoy, share, and create art in this wonderful, open, 1500 ft space. A big thank you to everyone for all the love and support to make this all a reality and keeping us going! ️️️

Excellent place to learn to dance and have fun doing it.the teachers are very knowledgeable and down to earth.never a dull moment in class.the atmosphere is wonderful, and people just seem to be happy and having fun all of the time.that's just in the classes.the parties are on a whole other level! The staff and dancers at Balmir really know how to have a great time. If you're looking for a place to dance in brooklyn, Balmir is definitely for you

Jessica was my private choreographer/dance instructor for a few months (even during the quarantine the zoom meetings worked great!) She is knowledgable, friendly yet professional, very kind and patient, inspiring, uplifting, talented, knows the movements and the steps and prepares you from where you are to where you need to be. In a short time I felt I learned plenty of new steps and gained in confidence, speed, rhythm on moves I have never tried before. Looking forward to making Balmir my dance class place for a long time!

Love this place! They are under new ownership and working hard to promote new events and classes! I Would love to see them succeed- the teachers and classes are a lot of fun and it’s so nice not to have to Go all the way into a pretentious manhattan studio for a dance class. The teachers are authentic, friendly and very experienced!

I have never danced before in my life. I suddenly started with Balmir in April and cannot stop! I highly recommend this dancing school, because they have very talented, patient, friendly, RESPONSIBLE instructors who know their job and work with us very personally. I want to say big fat thank you to Marlene and Joel: thank you for your incredible job! I could not imagine that I will dance latin dances and not bad! Honestly! I improve my dancing skills with them every week! And also I like atmosphere in this school: during class time we have a lot of fun.
Also I like payment system it is very affordable and flexible (Jessica, thank you for that). And also schedule: it is pretty good for working people: they have evening classes during work week and Saturday classes. There are different levels from beginners to advanced, so you can create your own schedule. So, join us!

Very shady company. As a former customer I am disgusted and appalled, and others should know my terrible experience and take it into consideration before patronizing this company.

This company posted a "contest" on their social media page with the terms of entry simply being to repost a flyer on our Instagram pages and stories and claimed two winners would be chosen a few days apart.

I entered the contest and followed up after the first date they claimed they were announcing a winner had passed without any word. Someone else was named winner - ok. But when I checked the winners profile there was no post on their page.

So I waited for the next date the winner would be announced (July 5th) and checked in on the 9th when again no winner was announced.
Imagine my surprise when I was told there was no second winner. Huh?

When I called them out on their false advertising they switched gears and claimed a lot of people had entered (so a bunch of us got shafted) but all of a sudden they were determining the winner based on multiple reposts to our pages and stories and that we could delete and repost many times with them keeping track. Beside being super unorthodox, reposting multiple times was never mentioned in the contest rules and then they tried to blame me for not asking them about their odd rules.

Look if you don't want to do a real giveaway pay for promotion and don't try to switch the goal posts and rules when you are called out on it. And don't give legal threats because I let others know the real deal. It's not slander to tell the truth about what I believe is false advertising.

Interestingly enough they deleted the contest from their page when I told them I'd be sharing my experience. Nothing says "not guilty" like getting rid of the evidence, right? It's all good though because I have all the screenshots.
So if you are thinking of doing business with this company learn from my experience. I know I won't ever be going back.

Professional instructors and artists. Booking dance talent from this dance school makes us number 1 in NYC. Highly recommend.

This is GREAT studio. It is highly recommended! It is very spacious for classes. Great staffs! The studio is decorated really nice. I love the art on the wall. Very colorful and bright! You can probably fit a hundred people in there! Truly an amazing experience! -
