Beatifull italian family restaurant. Food and service is excellent, but italian. Do not compare it to US restaurant. Old maitre D was great personality and provided very good, old fassioned service. Pricey but worth it

If you're making a reservation over the phone- beware. I made a reservation 5 days in advance for a birthday dinner to be held in the garden, and when I arrived for the reservation I was told that the garden was closed for a private event. When I asked why I was never alerted, they said they didn't have my booking on their list.

The hostess told me they're closed on Mondays, and that there's no way I could have made a reservation over the phone that day (I did,) and suggested I may have spoken to their automated system, however I was well aware that I was not talking to a robot.

Moral of the story if you want to dine here- book on OpenTable so you have written proof of a reservation, and beware of sudden garden closures.

Food was great and so was the ambient, am not sure if all the drapes and green trees around the tables are clean often, but would be nice to know.
Food was great and so were the desserts.always making sure we had enough water and coffee or bread with butter.
Great service.

I took my 13 year old daughter and her best friend here for dinner before the theater. We ordered from the pre-fix menu and did not order any drinks. With tax and tip, the total was $250, which was way over priced for the quality of the food. None of us could finish our meals because they were really not good. The beef was very fatty. The beets were flavorless. The green salad was just a mix of lettuce. However, even though the food was really poor, the servers were very attentive and the atmosphere was beautiful.

Absolutely beautiful! We went on a quiet Wednesday night, and it was just heaven. We were seated in the garden, after making a reservation and we thoroughly enjoyed our food. Authentic, flavoursome, and well presented. The gnocchi was a standout as was the rabbit. Lovely and attentive service.

Great food. Good Location. The outdoor garden is very nice. I am holding back 1 star for the vibe. We went there Saturday evening over a long weekend around 8 PM and there was no one at the restaurant. The staff told me that they cater mostly to the theater crowd and once the shows start, they are usually not crowded. Nevertheless a completely empty restaurant on Saturday over July 4th weekend was very surprising. 2 other tables were occupied after we sat down. However, they have good wine choices and the food is excellent. Would recommend the outdoor garden if available. Personally, I like to eat in restaurants where there is a lot of hustle bustle and a completely empty restaurant in Broadway district didnt cut it for me. For that reason, I may not be back.

The service, the food, the gilded age era decor…wonderful experience. Tito and his team mates were phenomenal! Please don’t forget the dessert …I mean delicious!

Impeccable service and very authentic and delicious Italian food. We felt like we were transported back in time when waiters wore tuxes and tables were decked out. Don't let the older decor deter you from a fantastic experience.

Let’s start with some positive. The restaurant is beautiful and the presentation of the food is lovely. The staff however is snotty. Coat check tries to shame you for not checking and then asks you not to hang over the back of your chair (every other table had coats on the back of chairs). The waiter seems miffed when we only wanted water.

The gentleman who brought us bread (20 min later) was actually WONDERFUL the only bright point of our service experience.

Dinner took a while and was presented beautifully. I ordered the chicken (house specialty) and it was dry and burned. No one asked how the food was so I did not get a chance to provide feedback.

My desert was yummy but did not make up for all the negatives.

It’s their loss as I was researching places to host an event. Major let down

I went here for the 1st time Many years Ago as My husband and I stumbled upon the lovely restaurant before a Broadway show (Way before Covid). I happened to be the Best discovery for a restaurant I have ever had. I rave about their Gnocchi every chance I get, even refusing to eat it anywhere else we go. There is no comparison and soeaking of it makes My mouth Water. I am so eager to return, and when I tried some time last year I was bought to near tears knowing it was closed. My worst nightmare would have been that i couldnt visit again. Today again speaking of their amazing Gnocchi, I checked and quickly found out that they are very much open. The amount of joy this brought me is beyond measure and I really hope I am able to visit them soon. Thank you so much for the amazing dinner we had only 1x here but i plan to travel to the city and experience it again very soon.

I had an absolutely awful experience. I came during restaurant week and was told there was no more restaurant week as of "yesterday", but I checked some reviews and it seems they were saying that most of restaurant week. Oh well, at least I can enjoy my experience right? Wrong. The main server has no manners and is just plain rude. Very unprofessional, the other servers were so much better. The food was absolutely awful, everything was either bland or tasted microwaved. The dessert was good. NOT worth the price and especially NOT worth your time. If you have any taste buds or respect for yourself, stay away!

Interesting ambiance with lots of history in an old building. The food was ok while the deserts and service were fantastic. They are very efficient with their prix fixe dinner and will keep up with however fast or slow you want to go. From that perspective it's a good place to go before a show and would have plenty of time with a reservation about 2 hrs before curtain time.

Second time dining here. This time it was after a matinee Broadway show, so it was not super crowded. Love the ambiance of this vintage style authentic NYC restaurant just steps from the theatres. Coat check at the front of the restaurant & a full bar as well.

Had the restaurant week special & all of the food was quite tasty. The pasta was cooked very al dente however the sauce was just delicious! Ordered Vodka Stingers & if I could handle my liquor better, I would have ordered two more! Yum! Highly recommend.

The wait staff was attentive & multiple staff members checked on how we were doing. They also sang happy birthday to my friend, much to his chagrin & much to my great pleasure.

"Another Vodka Stinger! "

Came here before going to a show. Service was fast, but didn’t feel rushed. They have a pre fixe for before show times and the food was absolutely phenomenal. The staff were attentive and friendly. Definitely a must if in the city!

They put tips by themselves, and say this is same for every table. Did not see mandatory tip percentage on menu or been noticed by any waiters.

A theater district classic - stopped in for an early dinner after seeing Tina. It was restaurant week and we chose off of the limited fixed price menu for $39 and were very happy. Our food was good, the service was attentive, the red and white wine offered were both very good ($12/glass) and our meals were tasty too. No negatives, just didn't wow us enough for 5 stars.
