My husband & I have taken private and group lessons from Dance Obsession for many years. It is the best experience-not only because we have learned to dance and enjoy every minute of it, but also because Barney & Debbie and all of the staff treat everyone like family. They take dancing seriously but make it fun to learn and it is nothing like the "cookbook" technique of a chain studio. It is the best social and health investment you can make for yourself.

All I can say is you will learn from the best at Dance Obsessions! My husband and I badly needed dance lessons before our wedding and luckily Jeanine was there to help us. Every instructor is extremely professional and takes time with each student to make sure they are learning the moves correctly. I personally can not thank Jeanine enough for making sure we didn’t look like fools during our first dance. We are beyond happy with what we learned and will 100% be back for future lessons and dance outings!

Can't begin to describe how amazing this place is! The people are always so friendly and inviting, and their instructors really know how to take you through the steps at your own pace. I've always loved to dance but had never tried ballroom dancing; this place is the real deal! Not only do they show you the moves to groove, but they make it fun to learn them. Don't get me started on their Friday night parties! Man can this group party! Between instructors and students there are always people on the dance floor and always fun activities to do. There are no such things as "wall flowers" in this studio. Also, the private lessons give you a real opportunity to see what it is like to be a competition dancer; but don't take my word for it, go get some dancing shoes and head over! Ask for Jeanine, she will not only give you the work out of your life, but you will laugh and dance your way through the hour!

Thanks Dance Obsession for making me love dancing again!

Since you’re reading a review for a dance studio, I already know what you're thinking. How the heck do I pick a studio to learn a few moves in time for the wedding? Well look no further! My now wife and I decided on Barney & Debbie’s Dance Obsession after reading a few reviews online. We took the initial 4 class wedding package with Jeanine and knew that we found the right place. We then proceeded to take a 10 class program with her to fully learn our “wedding program” aka The Dance. We went roughly once a week until our wedding and I can say that we felt so comfortable with our routine on our wedding day thanks to Jeanine. Did it go off absolutely perfectly? By no means. But, did we have a fun time learning the dance and ultimately impress our friends and family? Absolutely!

Now allow me to give you a little background about my wife and my prior dance experience. It is wholly comprised of watching Dancing with the Stars and So You Think You Can Dance. Our instructor, Jeanine was incredibly patient with us, walking us through the very basics, time and time again. She gradually added on steps and moves as we could tolerate and never once showed frustration with such novices.

Although I can only speak to working extensively with Jeanine, and once with Rosalie, I can definitely say that I saw all the instructors at Dance Obsession work with dancers of all levels and everyone seemed to be having a great time.

I would wholeheartedly recommend Dance Obsession without any reservations. Yes, its not necessarily cheap but then again, what part of a wedding is? The instructors will teach you, but more importantly make you feel comfortable dancing your first dance. They will prepare you for that moment on your special day when you may forget a step but you’re so comfortable with the routine that you can pick it up right away. The studio is also extremely flexible with scheduling which is critical to a couple planning a wedding while working full-time.

Thank you to our friends at Barney & Debbie’s Dance Obsession!
