Barrymore Theatre reviews
17Beautiful Theater! Went here to see the play Piano Lesson. The play is a must-see! Wish I could tell u about it! The Theater was very clean and the staff was on point. We'll be back soon!
The theatre is very nice but I don't understand why people are allowed to bring large travel luggage into the theatre. The theatre is older so there isn't a lot of leg space. We had to wait for individual's luggage to get checked and that was ridiculous. Also the security guys are very rude. I didn't allow them to ruin my experience but the theatre should consider having a "no travel luggage" policy.
Superb production of August Wilson's the piano lesson. What was not so great was intermission bathroom lines and how poorly managed and directed they are by staff. Especially for people who were physically impaired. One lady was forced to go down the stairs despite having a walker. I then later found out there was a handicap accessible bathroom on the ground floor because my mother in law needed one at the end of the show.
I loved how quiant and how close to the stage everything was. It felt like I was in the play how close I was.
Small theater but efficient with entering and exiting. Didn’t get to part take in the concessions
My Dad took me and my sister to see The Piano Lesson and it was wonderful amazing and outstanding.
The Piano Lesson is an extraordinary production featuring a cast of #BlackExcellence. Danielle Brooks was spellbinding in her role as Berniece. And that John David Washington as Boy Willie. Simply superb! His acting, passion, and fire reminded me of his father when he was younger. I expect great things from him to come. An absolute must-see! I highly recommend everyone in the NY metro tri-state area to see it before it leaves Broadway.
It wasn't bad, it's an older theater in New York. The only thing is it didn't have an elevator for my father in law who is a disabled vet.
The piano lesson was excellent! Samuel L. Jackson, John Davis Washington, we'll, the entire cast was phenomenal! Go see it before it leaves New York! @
Saw a great performance of the Piano Lesson, but the theater seats weren't made for big and tall.
The Play was excellent as well as it's customer service. But I fortunately, l was very uncomfortable. The seating was not comfortable, to small a space for a person when space for circulation is needed, and it is tight to move legs, etc just a little bit. Too many steps, to have to take to use the restroom, it could use another one. Don't think l could return to the Barrymore theater again. Sorry, but I give Barrymore a 2**star rating.
We were there for their Christmas show The Piano…. I throughly enjoyed the show…the theater itself was clean and the staff was professional.
Michelle and George provided me with excellent customer service. Best seats and worth every price are in the orchestra. Also have sat in the rear mezzanine in the past, and found it to be unbearable, zero leg room and very narrow seats - which means you are sitting incredible close to the guest next to you. Orchestra is way to go! Great clean theater! Beautiful.
I dropped my apple watch there, and i am crying. I want to call but the line isn’t working.
It's was birthday gift and the piano lesson was amazing and to my suprise the seats are comfortable and spacious
August Wilson, one of my favorite Playwrights, The Piano Lesson, a first-class cast memorizing.
Just saw "The Piano Lesson". Great show! Latanya Richardson deserves a Tony for the direction.
Beautiful theater, however, I will never sit in the mezzanine again. No bueno for anyone with long legs.
