Most unprofessional dealership ever. Do not do business here

I was supposed to get my car in beginning of October and was excited about it. October came and passed no phone call no updates of any kind. I’ve called over 5 times so far and dealt with different associates each time telling me “it’ll be here soon”. I don’t even want the car at this point.

* update on my review. I ended up getting my car from here because everything was already ordered. If you’re looking to purchase, come with a lawyer or go elsewhere. Subarus are great cars, but I hope this specific dealership closes down.
The guy named Roy helped my family and I and he was blatantly rude toward us for asking questions. You should ask many questions when buying a new car; especially at this specific dealership

Great staff and quickly attended when entering. When I made the appointment they told me 2-3 hours for work to be completed and it was closer to the 2 hour mark

Friendly service staff. I have been coming here since 2014. No issues. They keep me informed of the status of my service and repairs.

Expectations:
1) This is a dealership. You will be paying MSRP plus retail markup for parts. You will be paying premium for labor. They will recommend repairs based on Subaru repair manual. Subaru repair manual will state that everything gets replaced.
2) Time - You will be spending time waiting for your car. For oil change, I suggest dropping off the car and going for meal. For anything else, drop it off and wait for the call to pickup your car. If they have to order parts, expect 1-2 day delay.
3) The multipoint check is a joke. Oil change and other low end jobs are not done by the experience mechanics. Always check your tire pressure after oil change service.

Why get oil change at the dealership? Price for synthetic oil change is very competitive. But you will have to allocate 2 hours of you time. The only benefit is you avoid potential disaster like someone draining your transmission fluid at a quick lube.lol

Any other major job, you can save money on parts or labor in local repair shop. Personally, I can afford the prices. I have had mixed results going to local repair shops. If I can find a reliable local shop that knows Subaru, I would try them.

I actually went to a different Subaru dealership and didn’t end up buying a car. The folks at Bay Ridge Subaru however make you feel like part of the family from the moment you walk in. Tom was there with us every step of the way, helping us build the right Subaru for us. When it was time for pick up, it felt like we were celebrities- Marc came out to congratulate us, Ben took us through every feature of our new car Mike even put on our new plates and registration. The car is amazing just like they said.

I had my vehicle 2017 Forester recently serviced in 7/31/2023.service advisor told me I had a low oil level and recommended an oil change (not top off) which I agreed to. Yesterday I took my vehicle to a private mechanic for another issue who identified high level of oil on dipstick. I proceeded for an oil change. Upon draining, it turns out this dealer filled my engine with 6 quarts of oil instead of the recommended 5.1 quarts. This could have damaged my engine. I will not be coming back here for oil changes.

Do not go to this location for service. I made an appointment today October 4,2023 for a wheel alignment and a car inspection for 7: 30 A. M. When I arrived there I was told my car would be ready by 11 A. M.that would be 3 1/2 hours later with no other people there yet at 7: 30 A. M. Marc D'Ottavio the service supervisor turned my car back around because I did not have time to wait 3 1/2 hours for a wheel alignment with a car inspection. I wasted my time and energy and never going back there for anything.

I have been buying foresters (5 so far) from bay ridge since 1999. Once I went to another dealer, but realized I get better service from bay ridge

I called this dealership last December (2022) for assistance with a Subaru Equity Shield warranty for tire protection. The person who answered the phone treated me like I was asking her to personally give me five hundred dollars out of her pocket. She acted like she had never heard such a thing, and she just wanted to get me off the phone. I've never been treated so rudely by someone. This is the closest Subaru dealership to my home, but after that phone call I will not be stepping foot into their offices.

After speaking directly with Andrew, , the service manager, my husband and I both felt much better about our experience at Bay Ridge Subaru. Andrew took the time to thoroughly explain both the scope of work, and the bill to my husband. And he graciously listened to my concerns, without dismissing them. The 4 star rating is because of Andreas’ graciousness and professionalism.

Totally dishonest. Don’t trust anything they say. Took my car in for a recall for a parking brake connector that was hanging off. I had to zip tie it up to get it there without towing. I told them that I secured it when I brought it in then they decided that the recall was not covered because I put the connector back on myself but still charged me $180 diagnostic fee when they did nothing.the zip ties I used were still on the connector. They could have told me that before they took the car. Totally dishonest. Use at your own risk.

If i could give this dealership 0 stars i would. Unfortunately I cannot, lucky for them. My first lease with them every issue i had they couldn’t help me, I had the base package so i was like wow, that sucks. This lease i have the bells and whistles and every time i have an issue it’s oh we can’t do anything you are wasting your time. God forbid you deal with who ever talks on the phone with you. I’ve never communicated with a nastier human in my life. If i could legally terminate my lease i would, There costumer service is shot, when you get a free oil change their people are like well your Doo hickey filter for the super caborator maximus needs to be changed and that’s 130$. Every time i visit this establishment i feel like I’m being slighted, Taken advantage and treated like an idiot. I can’t find a single redeeming factor and i have tried so hard. Bayridge Subaru has lost a customer and has created a voice that will speak negatively about them when their establishment comes up. When someone ask where they should buy a car I will say anywhere but bayridge subaru.

I was experiencing jerkiness with the pre-owned Forester I recently purchased. Andrew sat with me to diagnose the problem. After the first attempt to fix the problem wasn't successful, Andrew took care of it the second time around. Andrew took the time to listen to my problem and suggest solutions to fix it.

We have visited many subaru dealerships but let me tell you, when it comes to exceptional service from every single one, this one comes up to be NUMBER ONE. Corey/Cornelius was our sales guy and he did an impeccable job showing us our options and was patient to answer every single question we had at all times. Roy also was a big help explaining us everything about leasing/buying and differences. We have been doing business at this location for the past 5 years and every time we get to go there for whatever we need is a pleasure. They make it very easy. Highly recommend it if you're considering getting a car, Corey is your man! Thank you again for all the help given.

Bay Ridge Subaru repaired a part of the transmission that was under recall. While under repair, they sold us an additional $2k worth of incidental upgrades. Then the transmission failed within 24 hours. The transmission failure totaled this 2014 Crosstreck. The failure is not covered under the recall warranty. Bay Ridge failed this dedicated Subaru driver and sent us out on the open highway with a faulty transmission that failed hours later. I'll never go back to this dealership.
