Bayard Cutting Arboretum reviews
19This place is amazing! If you need a mental break the B. C. Arboretum is a great place to walk and take in the beautiful sights and commune with nature
I had an amazingly good walk down some of the paths. I'm looking forward to experiencing more of that!
Treat yourself to a beautiful walk through the property. The lake, trees, architecture, history and beauty are worth taking in.
This place is absolutely beautiful. Definitely a hidden gem out here on the island and highly recommend taking a nice long stroll through the well kept grounds. There's so many different types of trees. It would be really cool to know the age of some of them given how massive some of them are. Sitting near the water and looking out is also a nice thing to do while you're here.
Nice place for the outdoors to walk and enjoy nature. Absolutely spectacular!
And the restaurant has great soups, coffee and desserts. Awesome place
Beautiful, so much to explore. Check out the huge tree you can sit in behind the lodge! Chicken coup /garden is a cool spot too
Great location for easy walking, a lot of different areas - ponds, a large collection of flowers, shrubs and trees, the river (bald eagles, ospreys, etc.), the large chicken coop and the beautiful dahlia garden. Granny's Attic is a must on Saturdays. All kinds of donated items for sale. Oh and the Cafe! No dogs.
I love how peaceful and beautiful Bayard Cutting Arboretum is! The right place to reflect and give yourself some peace and quiet time. An ideal place for an intimate garden wedding as well!
A beautiful place that is lovingly and wonderfully cared for. A true paradise and great place to escape the busyness of Long Island for a while.
This place is epic and a must visit if you live on Long Island. Unbelievably well kept. Tons of trails, incredible water views, nature at its best. Trees, plants, and flowers you have definitely never seen. Easy to spend hours aimlessly walking around admiring your surroundings. Great place to pack a lunch and picnic.
I had a magnificent time here. I highly recommend the Riverwalk. There is also a fabulous dahlia garden maintained by the Long Island Dahlia society. Great place for picnics and to take children
So much to see!
For lovers of exeptional gardens and Victorian Architecture, this is a must see. While visiting in NY, my sister treated me to "tea" at the Arboretum. It was delightful but the most spectacular thing was the tree "you could walk inside of".
Though things in the mansion are " a touch shabby" overall the gardens are quite memorable.
Beautiful, well kept grounds. My kids are 9 & 11 and they both enjoyed walking along the water. There is no park staff working at the booth upon entering but you can pay for parking ($8/car) at the machine once you've parked. Don't forget to display the receipt by your windshield. It was not crowded at all when we went on a Sunday around 3: 30p, the arboretum closes at 5p and we explored maybe only a 1/3 of the place. Definitely will return again!
Always a beautiful place to stroll by the river and enjoy the lovely flowers and trees. The Hidden Oak Cafe is a great place to have a lunch special or other menu item. The staff is very willing to answer a question and are very courteous. A excellent way to spend the day plus free parking for seniors.
My favorite park on the whole island. There are various trails you could take and the grounds are beautiful. The cafe food is good and prices are reasonable. Also, if you have a NYS empire pass parking charges are covered.
A little gem - nice place for a walk - family friendly and quiet - the grounds are very well kept
They have a on premise cafe I have never tried yet but would love to!
I was brought to the Arboretum for the first time by my beloved only sibling.in the final stages of her battle against a rare & aggressive cancer
Her request was that she be remembered not by a cemetery tombstone.she wanted her loved ones to honor her memory by coming to her favorite place. A Waterfront bench in her memory is being donated. Many thanks to Nelson Sterner Director of the Arboretum who proved to be an
Beautiful but people tend to just get way to close! I come to relax, not to be chased when walking. Not the parks fault though!
Beautiful views. Keep in mind you can’t picnic here, but they do have a cafe with some baked goods & drinks! Bring bug spray as some areas have tick warnings
