Didn’t get anything but this place is beautiful! Very organized and eclectic in terms of styles.color coding means that you have to sort through your size urself tho.the price is also reasonable.would recommend it a lot better than buffalo exchange or crossroads 10mins away.

The thrift store I needed in NYC! The interior is large, with plenty of choices for men and women, sorted by color and type of clothing. The prices seemed reasonable to me (compared to France for example) in view of the condition of the clothes. I recommend!

If someone wants to spend time to look after second hand or vintage clothing, this is one of the places in Brooklyn. Impressive but I have no patience for this. My daughter did have patience…

This is the final straw with beacons closet. I have been four times to try and to sell and the wait is always ungodly long (2-5hrs). Unless you live in the neighborhood and can drop off your stuff and go home. This is inaccessible for most. Today I was told it was only an hour and a half wait. I come back at the hour and a half and they tell me it's another hour and a half.

I asked to speak to a manager.

I wanted to be seen now or within the next half hour. Told her I have never had anything but bad experience here and have been 4 times but never actually had my clothes seen cause the wait time is awful!

She was not able to boost me in the line but offered a $25 gift card for the discrepancy in time. This was generous but I declined cause I am done with them!

She said they're under staffed and social media famous and so it increases their traffic. I think they really need to rethink their infrastructure/business model because this is not sustainable, accessible or acceptable.

Can't share in-person experiences but they're my go-to online shop for finding cheap second hand clothes from designer brands and small brands. I found a Carb Studios overshirt that is usually over 100 dollars for 25. Several other great deals on more niche brands, and a lot of curated vintage stuff as well. Very cool store.

Always enjoyed shopping Beacon's closet when I would visit NY and was surprised to find out you could shop them online. I had a great first experience buying from across the country and will shop online again

I always stop by when I have some time to kill in Brooklyn, I always find something interesting there for under $50.

I got hooked on Beacon's Closet when I was a New Yorker, and since moving, I've discovered I can still shop with them online. Their online collection is spectacular-I find unique, standout pieces by emerging brands or vintage labels often, at great prices! They ship quickly, too.

For anyone who hasn’t been here in years, it’s definitely not the same as it used to be. The
girl working in the selling department literally asked if i wanted to be there when they go through my stuff and i said yes. She said they will text me in an hour. I waited for 2 hours and decided to go see how much longer and saw another girl going through my bag of stuff lol when she was done i got the text.the pricing doesn’t make any sense. $69 for new rachel comey shoes? Just go sell your stuff on poshmart.

Did not have a great experience selling in store have purchased before in store and online. So there's some people in the selling section that are rude, condescending will not sell to this store again. Will be going to Bogart the Bushwick store for now or W 13th. I was warned about the rudeness in Greenpoint but that was crazy and not necessary.

The store is big and has a lot of clothes.
The Asian female employee who paid the bill yesterday was very kind.
The attitude of the black man who made the payment today is completely disapproving and crumples the receipt.

Beacon's has gone through many iterations over the last 15 yrs and I do still go there when I'm around. Back in the day I never left empty-handed.
At this point many things are somehow both shockingly overpriced and others surprisingly reasonable (like some of the legit vintage.) If you sell your cool vintage here you'll get nothing; so if it's really special put it on one of those resale apps or Etsy/eBay.
I don't care about designer labels but you def pay too much for a hip one (I'm looking at you, worn, nondescript Alexander Wang sweater)
Other things are fast-fashion garbage and the price is the same as new (or more! I'm looking at you mesh crop top from Amazon or Pretty Girl.)
When I don't want to deal with posting something on Poshmark I bring it here, and use the store credit to buy something I might otherwise not.
It's worth visiting.

What an awesome clothing store. If you go through patiently, you will find some excellent pieces at affordable prices. I liked that things were grouped by color. Lockers at the front made for a hands-free shopping experience.

The vibe of the store is much nicer than your typical thrift shop however it’s much pricier. You’d think some of these items would be checked for stains and damage given the price - however you’ll walk away with something you like more times than not.

I brought a few items (Fendi, LV, Michael kors) to sell and waited for about 45mins. The staff who shared the price with me was 1.rude with bad altitude 2.unprofessional. He started by saying ‘for the LV bag we FELT like it’s authentic but we can only take it for this price’. If this business is evaluating items based on how they felt, I’m sure you do not want to sell or purchase anything here. I responded saying ‘It is authentic’. It felt like I was selling my items at a flea market where I need to reinforce my items are authentic!? I supposed they will have the capability to identify the items!? He looked annoyed when explaining the cash out/ store credit option in detail. This is my first time selling here and will be the last. JUST GO SOMEWHERE ELSE and don’t bother (especially if you are selling luxury items).
