9Five Starts! If you like Sam's point of Minnewaska State Park, you will love this overlook, too. The trail is easy, short, kids friendly. The parking lot is small, probably only available for around 6 cars. I visited on 2022 Oct. 19 and the trail was all covered with leaves already.
Great trail with beautiful view at the top! Got a great hike in and then watched the sunset
It was so nice and tranquil and the view was unmatched. Will be back to explore some more and catch a sunset again!
DON’T GET LOST LIKE I DID— the real address is 111, not 117. maps took me on a maze & I started doubting everything. Please, if you want to go on this amazing hike, just type in 111 Dellenbaugh for parking.
Aside from that, the views are incredible for such a short hike! 10 minutes to the top and not much elevation at all.
Beautiful, easy and short hike with great views. We stuck to the new trail and took the old trail back.
For a first time hiking.it's was very very manageable. Clear hiking path, I didn't have to climb over any impossible boulders, or descend down a jagged steep path. I didn't run into any bears or rabid rodents. There was a steady incline, very doable. And nice view ontop.if it's wasn't raining much when i went, I'm pretty pretty sure my 68yr old mom wud be able to do it. Oh, I didn't bring one but a walking cane to poke ur surroundings n added balance n support is a handy useful tool. First hike, no one to really tell me wah to bring or expect or whatever but definitely happy for this experience.
It so beautiful and relaxing.
Be careful there lot of rock hidden with all those fall leaves on the ground.
I will always love this place and I should be giving it five stars but now they're charging so that's why they're getting four stars. I could see if they were up keeping and taking care of the trails but that's not even happening there's still so much later. Definitely worth going if you never been but the amount they want is incredible and even if you get dropped off there they want to charge you so it's not even a matter of parking!
Short hike to an amazing vista with some lightweight but fun rock scrambling. Not crowded at all which is nice. Be prepared to pay a $7 charge per hiker, but well worth it.
