Bear Mountain State Park reviews
11One of beautiful mountain in NY. Call them before you go there to know the pick is open or not?
Ive been coming here since ai was a kid and this place is just so relaxing! Wish they would of restored the skiing jump, I vaguely remember it. I’ve hiked the mountain to the top were the fire tower is and the views and peace are amazing!
When i visited, i found out it was closed and simply wanted to go to the bathroom before leaving. An employee gave me bad directions out of the park to a nonexistent bathroom just to get rid of me. Absolutely terrible.
Usually go bike riding to top of bear Mt wit friends time to time. Great place to bbq & hiking as well~
Beautiful place. Opened the day we visited for the first time after devastating storm. Would love to visit again. Loved the roundabout and environs. Great that it was under cover and can just imagine how warm it would be in winter with that great fireplace going.
Great place for a family. Phenomenal place to enjoy the outdoors. The park is well maintained with lots to see and do. The park keeps open the restrooms and they are very clean. Be sure to check out the river dock and the zoo as they are worth the extra steps.
Aug 28 2023. Partially open. Great job to all the widowhood made it happen. Thanks
New York. The magnificent mountains, diverse parks & preserved land, makes it the place to spend a day, a week or a lifetime! FYI, Before you go, make sure to verify if they're not closed (it was closed recently due to flooding in July '23)
I cycled from south Queens to Bear Mountain. Unfortunately the mountain is closed, I was not aware, for the rest of the year due to the rain and damaged it caused. I was sad I could ascend the mountain but I definitely felt accomplished getting there and the. Home.
Is not the greatest place in the world but it has some nice views and you can disconnect a little bit from everything
Amazing place for boating, barbecue, playground, lodge and a difficult hike from my perspective.
