Belasco Theatre reviews
16We saw Girl from thr North Country, which was spectacular. The theatre is small but beautiful. It is also clean, well organized and comfortable. The staff were knowledgeable and efficient.
Girl from the North country musical. The acting was great. The singing was great. The dancing was mediocre. What was really missing is subtitles. It was nearly impossible to understand the lyrics of the songs of Bob Dylan. Subtitles would also be useful for the play so that everybody can follow. The story was very convoluted. The title of the play refers to a Bob Dylan song supposedly his first girlfriend. So it was futile to try to identify which woman in the play was from the north. To begin with Duluth Minnesota is already in the north. The play takes place in 1930 for depression. The play itself very depressing. The final punch: retarded adult son sings from heaven after dying in lake superior. The best thing about it that we are having a good time writing this review.
Gorgeous, ornate theater with stained glass light fixtures and on the ceilings, wood and gold leaf panels, and frescoes! Saw an incredible performance there, Girl from the North Country.
Absolutely horrible horrible box office services. Called many times to ask if my tickets are confirmed. They hang up on me every time. Definitely rudest service ever exists in this world. If I could give negative star I would.
Beautiful theater with stained glass lights in the ceiling and ornate details throughout. It’s quite small which allows for a very intimate feeling. I really liked the cozier size for seeing a show.
Beautiful interior, a lot to take in while you wait for your show to start. Reasonable seat and leg room for an old theater.
Box office is closed. Tried to by tickets for to kill a mocking bird and hours listed state it open for 15 mintute on Sunday. 12: 15 to 12;30
Beautiful theater and friendly staff. If seating on the mezzanine, oddly row B has a better view than row A given the railing.
It's one thing to have the perfect performance space and quite another to have a space with the perfect performance. Well the Balasco and Girl from the North is just that.
Beautiful historic Broadway theater, lots of original architectural detail, from chandeliers to bas relief and ceiling art. The acoustics are magnificent. A truly wonderful venue to see shows. Most recently we saw “Girl from the North country” there- outstanding
Beautiful historical theatre. It a small theatre but has a lot of it’s original architecture. We went Girl From The North Country. Was really good and highly recommended it.
One of my favorite theatres ornate with lots of great light fixtures. Off the beaten path, always great plays or musicals give birth here.
Saw the show " The girl from the North country ". All about the songs of Bob Dylan.the show was ok.nothing to write home about.and would not probably see it again like some other shows I have seen before which were fantastic
Really nice theatre! We had mezzanine seats to watch the Girl from the North Country (not my favourite musical but it was interesting). The view and sound was great and we were seated swiftly and easily.
Staff were exceptional - my dad has limited mobility and they made sure he got to his seat quickly and easily and they arranged to store his scooter. Theatre is beautiful with classic design. Good view from all seats and great acoustics. Play we saw was wonderful and it was an easy walk from lots of nearby food options.
Saw, Girl From the North Country there. It was a wonderful show told to the timeless music of Bob Dylan. The theater is beautiful. Bathrooms on the upper and lower floor and two concession stands so you can get pickled in your seat during the show:)
Staff was friendly and helpful too. Highly recommend!
