Highly recommend…
Some of the PAs and doctors are fine, but the whole operation is incredibly poorly organized. Don't expect to see the doctor you made an appointment with, don't expect anybody to answer the phone, don't expect to see a receptionist when you walk into the office, and don't expect the doctor or PA you saw originally to be there the next time you show up (if you make the mistake of going more than once.)
I had an appointment for 5: 45 and this morning I got a message saying that my appointment had been rescheduled to 4: 45 for no given reason. I called back to see if it was ok to be a little late since it’s a last minute reschedule, the lady that answered apologized and said yes you can be a little late. I showed up at 5: 04 exactly, the nurse told me that I will have to reschedule. I explained the whole thing to her, she said that she never made it for 5: 45. I showed her the proof on my phone, she said that’s not possible and asked me to wait outside. I waited for 25 minutes just for her to come and ask me if I wanted to reschedule now. She went ahead to give me her hand and say “I don’t want to argue with you. ” Couldn’t see a manager and was basically sent off without a single care or concern. That was very unprofessional. You can’t treat people like that.
Update: They charged my credit card, which they ask you to give them for their “no show policy, ” $350 7 months after my initial disastrous visit. I didn’t authorize that charge and when I spoke to their billing department, they said they don’t see any recently paid bills or outstanding invoices. So not only they don’t offer good service, they steal your hard earned money just because they have your credit info which is illegal. I didn’t receive a single invoice for that amount to pay.
PA Yasmin Ashir is extremely knowledgeable and very thorough, I couldn’t be happier. She found my A-Fib from listening with her STETHOSCOPE! MD Patice is excellent at taking vitals and drawing blood-I didn’t even feel the needle go in!
Terrible experience this last time. I went in for my medical and I still don’t have my report or a response from the team as to the delay. I was told at the clinic I will get my reports in 3-4 business days and 10 days after I still don’t have them.
HEED THE WARNINGS OF ONE STAR REVIEWS
This place is absolutely a scam. You will receive small petty charges to your cards months after your visit. It is a violation of HIPPA laws to charge a patient’s card without consent or an itemized bill. The practice manager dodges calls and the billing department can’t locate why you are charged but at the same time says they can’t issue a refund without a managers consent.
I was charged incorrectly the first time I visited. Then got a charge recently for a visit I didn’t have a year ago.
Had to jump through a million hoops to get a refund…
Dr. Berbano is so very knowledgeable and he listens to you and your concerns. The nurses and staff were kind and accommodating. I traveled 3 hours for this appointment and I am so happy I did!
I’ve been charge for an appointment I didn’t have. I had to contact the main office, and two different billing departments. It’s evident that they are running some type of scam as I’m not the only one this has happened to.
Definitely reporting this is my insurance and my bank
The experience with the medical staff was great but I’ve been charged for incorrectly in person and remotely. Most recently they charged me for a bill over a year ago.
From the comments and reviews I’m not the only one who’s been randomly charged.
PA Yasmin Ashir is amazing, and all of the staff I met were incredibly caring and welcoming. The wait times were usually about an hour, even with an appointment, because the staff seem very booked, but the clinic is clean and friendly, and I am very happy to have gone to them!
Yeah.this place is a borderline scam. Can't really speak to the service, but my girlfriend went here and paid. Now she is constantly getting pestered with small double charges, fake bills, etc. The worst part is sorting through all this takes hours of work to get through-they make it really hard and send you down a rabbit hole of emails, phone calls, old billing companies, new billing companies, etc.just to avoid spurious $15 dollar charges.
I had my provider spend 30 minutes making sure I understood my bloodwork results, plus this place had given me the most consistently sensitive, weight-neutral care that I have ever received. I’m a flesh-bag full of medical mysteries, and they never make me feel less of a full partner in their care.
Received charges over a year after service with no explanation and charged my credit card without my authorization. The worst billing department and customer service and the clinic itself is horrible!
Billing department is useless, no help whatsoever. Overcharge insurance (of course). And tend to start meetings late
I'm echoing the complaints already made about this practice. STAY AWAY. They will charge you co-pay amounts YEARS (3, for me) after you visit them. It took me only 10 mins to look up my bank statement to realize they are double charging me for visits. Completely careless practice, and exploitative.
I've been seeing Dr Berbano since he was in the PA area. He's a great md that knows what he's doing.
This place charged my insurance incorrectly and kept sending me an invoice over and over again. Instead of taking my concerns seriously, they ignored my emails and just charged my credit card without my permission. DONT GO HERE! My issue was never solved with them and all they care about is money! I signed up for a PCP visit, didn't even see a doctor had a TH appointment with a PA and now they're billing my insurance for a specialist fee when I was told it was a PCP.
This clinic needs to be evaluated, especially their billing department and invoices towards health insurance companies. Anytime you receive a bill from them make sure that they are charging you and your insurance for procedures or exams that they actually did. This is just general practice with any medical bills. However, one quick primary care visit at this facility was double the cost of an emergency room visit where the hospital I went to (in Manhattan) did CT Scans, Ultrasounds, and provided me with medical attention in critical care.so again, read those invoices! I will not say anything further.
James Hansler PA-C is exceptional so this reviews is not reflective of my experience with him. This clinic has not provided any follow up service or even apologized for scheduling two separate virtual nutritionist appointments where the provider was a no-show and I never even received a link. They love to advertise those services so much but in my experience, didn't even get it. I never had any follow up regarding my ADHD treatment (I was diagnosed as a child so this is important follow up for me (I prefer therapy as the treatment), and it was never addressed).
Aside from that, here some PA-C's are very entitled. While I was in the exam room waiting to get my blood drawn, a lady (I don't remember her name, this was at the 31 st location went in to my exam room without even knocking the door (almost smacked me with it because I was right there) and kept repeating that she needed to draw blood from a different patient. Again, not even acknowledging or respecting that I was in a private space as a patient and that I was getting my blood drawn. She continued to speak loudly with the door open and the entire time. I guess that social awareness / cultural awareness/ and overall respect for patients was not a course in whatever medical program she completed.
I do like the portal, since you can easily message providers and the administrative staff. I like how it's easy to book in person appointments and the wide range of services offered. I also like how they're up to speed on women's health concerns and latest updates in medical research.
However, due to my poor interactions and general disrespect of my time, I have moved on to a different primary care clinic in midtown.
Thanks so much. (31 st location)
Please read the rest of the negative reviews regarding their fraudulent billing practices. I was just charged WITHOUT CONSENT for an office visit nearly TWO YEARS AGO! I checked my credit card statements to see that I had already paid this bill the day of my visit. Now I have to dispute with my credit card company.
