Janet and Robert expertly taught my wife and me everything we needed to know as first time riders. We were well taken care of and had a great time riding through the trail with nice views!

So, if I could give this place 10 stars I would. Janet is an absolutely lovely human being, and her horses have personalities to match. I was able to go on a ride just the two of us, it was wonderful. You truly feel like you're in a different place while out with her and her horses. Im a beginner, and I wanted to learn as much as I could. Janet was happy to help me in every way, and I felt how much she cared for her horses. I will absolutely be going back!

My 3 children absolutely loved Big River Barn! They got a hands on and unique experience of riding a horse and caring for the horse. Hand feeding, scraping out the hooves, sponge bathing, and rinsing the Horse with the help of the very knowledgeable and informative Robert. Be a champion parent and bring your family!

What a wonderful experience! Especially for beginners! My boyfriend and I had never gone horseback riding before, and Janet was such a wonderful guide and teacher! Beyond amazing.

I took my husband yesterday as a birthday gift and I have to say this place was nothing short of magical. My husband loves horses, and I’m very nervous with them due to their size and power. However, yesterday was something totally different. Janet and her nephew Robert were amazing and took the time to make sure we were safe, comfortable, and enjoyed ourselves. Both my husband and I being beginner riders (I’m like a real beginner beginner and nervous at that) we weren’t made to feel like that at all. Janet was able to match us with great horses due to our personality and comfort and it worked out beautiful. The horse I rode Muscalaro was the biggest sweetest guy and I loved him. All he wanted to do was eat and he was just so gentle and kind I really can’t wait to go back and see him again. My husband rode Frenchie, and she was also wonderful with him and he enjoyed her very much. The experience itself was beautiful the places we rode through were gorgeous and the entire experience was worth every second. I highly recommend this establishment it’s absolutely worth it.

To properly handle horses, you need to love animals, respectively, from childhood. It was a two hour horseback ride. Initially, there is an explanation of how to handle the horse, after that comes the walk itself. I love it. But it's not for everyone. Because every horse individual. But I will definitely come back, because I enjoy a lot.

Wow! Exceeded our expectations. Janet makes everything so easy along with her horses! Truly wonderful. The trails are so beautiful and the horses handle them so well. I am a first time rider and felt extremely comfortable. I am very happy to meet Janet and have the ability to spend time with her horses. My husband and I recommended 100%. We will definitely do again! Thank you Janet!

As a horse lover I have to say the best barn I’ve been to in NYC area! The horses are healthy and well taken care of. Highly recommending to everyone who likes to ride the trails. My horse definitely matched my personality and it was very fun to rid with her

We had a lovely time at the barn with Janet yesterday. The preserve looked like the Enchanted Forest! My daughter is in love with her horses.

Had a wonderful experience at big river barn, took my 8 year old daughter and her friend to visit the horses where they got to ride, brush and feed them. They were so gentle and sweet. Janet was great and helped make this an incredible experience we plan on visiting again!

Would’ve gave this place five stars but Janet doesn’t deserve it. She’s a nasty human being who is disrespectful and tries to justify her actions. She told my friend to take off her hijab. After she said “well can you tuck it in anywhere”. I texted her about it and she said that she was thinking about her “safety”. Janet, you should treat everyone with respect regardless of where they’re from or their religion.
