Birds of a Feather reviews
16 Birds of a Feather is my favorite Chinese restaurant around Williamsburg.
The environment is ok. It’s usually overly loud if you dine in. I can never have a conversation with people at this place, which is a shame.
The food, however, is FANTASTIC! I’ve tried the following:
Steamed Spice Coated Pork
Spicy Fish Fillet
Beef Soup Noodles
Curiously Tasty Chicken
Sautéed String Beans with Minced Pork
Sweet and Sour Baby Ribs
Husband and Wife Special
Ma Po tofu
Chungking spicy chicken
Snow Pea Shoots with Garlic
Super impressed with “Thousand-Year Egg and Tofu Rolls”!
“Braised Beef for 2” is a disappointment for me personally. Usually this dish should be the highlight of a Sichuan cuisine restaurant. They switch out the beef to thin-sliced hotpot beef, and it’s not as spicy and salty, leaving the oiliness really stand out.
There are a lot of new Chinese restaurant opening up in Williamsburg and Greenpoint. I have been sarcastic about this trend. Fancy interior and loud music doesn’t guarantee quality food. Birds of a feather is definitely a gem.
Came here for a Saturday lunch and it was delightful! I was impressed with how flavorful the food was and the whole experience was spot-on
The Kung Pao Chicken take out spoiled my dinner. It’s not the traditional one e.g, as you would get in KFChong Bistro. It’s doesn’t feel deep fried and half of it garlic and even cardamom. The whole thing is gooey! No utensils or napkins. No sauce. The place was packed when I was picking up. See the photo, it’s gooey and honestly repulsive. It spoiled my dinner and the night.
A restaurant employee gets into an angry fight with a grubhub driver which looks very awkward. Please be gentle with them!
Please be kind to local delivery guys in future. Otherwise you cannot do business here. -! -! -!
Excellent simple delicious food. We ordered pepper chicken, duck, green beans ands duck fried rice.
A must stop in Williamsburg.
The girl who works here behaves very badly. The girl does not know that when she takes an order from a customer, she has to give the customer some time to order according to the customer's choice. Please don't be so mad.
Ordered takeout from this place.found mold on the chopsticks and napkins included in the order.kitchen must be filthy.stay away
The restaurant has a great vibe, we did enjoy out meal, but not all of the food we were great. Scallion pancakes are really odd, doesn’t taste like it’s made from flour, pork buns are dry and not very authentic.
We love pork ribs and chili dumplings, although the dumplings are a little too sweet.
Would highly recommend! Amazing atmosphere and wonderful food - got the duck and ginger, short ribs, string beans with mince and some rice between two and genuinely loved every bite!
Loved this place, good service and cool vibes.thousand year egg was my favorite, wontons and dan dan were good but nothing special, mapo tofu was delicious but could’ve been much spicier, may have been bc we ordered it vegetarian
Im a huge fan of its sister restaurant: Cafe China.
The food here is very good but I felt like the dishes were not spicy enough. The staff here though was very nice and helped us order the right amount of food for a large group.
This place is amazing! You should definitely try to make a reservation if you plan to eat here, it gets packed, and with good reason. The food here is on another level. I couldn’t get enough of the crab soup buns (soup dumplings) I would eat it everyday if I could! The 300ml bottle of sake was definitely enough for 2 people but also you could go for more if you want. The service was excellent. The wait staff was able to offer us recommendations for our order, very helpful and knowledgeable. The steamed pork dumplings with chili oil is also fantastic and I highly recommend putting that chili oil into the soup dumplings if you want to take a quick trip to nirvana. Overall 10/10 experience and will definitely be coming back.
Delicious food! We ordered a variety of menu items to share, each and every dish was yummy! Highly recommend, the communal table gives a warm and inviting setting (:
Not as good as it’s sister location.
The braised fish lacked flavor and was overcooked because the meat was tough instead of smooth.
The other two dishes are mediocre.
Food was good, I’ll give it 4/5 stars. My fav was pork dumplings in spicy oil. The place was packed with people so I sat by the counter, not really great as other counter experiences I’ve had. If they offer counter seats, I think they should make the area look nicer. Most disappointing part was that the place was really noisy, so much so that the whole experience became unpleasant at some point. I wouldn’t go as a couple, perhaps better for groups.
