B&J Fabrics, New York NY

If you've been wandering around the storefronts full of random bargain bins, this isn't that store. B&J has a staggering selection of fabrics visible as samples neatly organized on hangars. If you're looking for just the right shade and just the right texture in just the right fiber, like I was today, this is where you'll be able to find it.

Staff has a nasty attitude and is more busy enforcing masks than helping customers

They have a great selection of very good and beautiful fabrics! But the staff that works there is not friendly and it kind of annoys them to work. They have no courtesy and are in a bad mood. That should be corrected! One goes there to buy not to ask for a gift. When I went I didn't buy, because they weren't nice to me! It is very unpleasant to go to a place where there is no courtesy and good customer service!

This is a place to go when you want to splurge on high quality fabrics or just ogle some.
They're located on the 2nd floor, and the building entrance is at the right hand side of Starbucks.
They hang the fabric samples which is much easier to browse than rolls. They carry top quality fabrics from Italy as well as more mid range ones.
I was worried based on the reviews of rude staff but I had a pleasant experience. They don't ask if they can help unless you approach them, true. But I personally prefer to be left alone so that I can browse the fabric in peace. And when I did approach the staff for help, they were very helpful and friendly.
I'd have spent a whole day here if I had time. Will definitely visit again next time I'm in NYC.

Im sorry but it is hell to come here they have great fabrics but everyone has the absolute worst attitude like its torture for them to work here they like actually hate you ive never even seen this sort of attitude at luxury stores from the sales associates lmfao like u cut fabric get over yourselves.

The older Asian lady who works here is incredibly rude. The other employees are always very nice, so it is a shame that she has put me off from returning.

They have a great selection, definitely on the pricier side, but great quality fabrics. Just a disclaimer for anyone who may be visiting, this seems to be a fabric store for professionals and/or people who know exactly what they are looking for and don't need a whole lot of assistance. If you are looking for assistance to help you find or select products, don't go here you will be ignored. No one even acknowledges you are in the place, or they just look at you and avoid speaking to you at all costs, haha.

Decent amount of fabrics. However, some of the staffs are rude as hell. I am a student and I shop here occasionally, but always disappointed of how rude the staff treat its customers. If you want a place that respects you, please change.

Still beautiful fabrics. Even though the samples are individually labeled, the sections are not always, so it feels a bit like thrift shopping. They still have champagne prices though. II liked it more when you could SEE the fabrics on bolts or hung in long sections on hangers.

One of, if not my top, fav fabric stores! I buy from all over but B&J always has the most beautiful, quality fabrics and the prices are amazing for quality. If you know fabric, this is the store for you!
Also, I live in Toronto so I regularly order online and the orders always get to me either the next day or 2 days after. It's the best service ever and makes ordering easy, and ordering swatches easy, too. Since I know I won't have to wait long for my order to arrive. Love this place so much!

Zero help. Even when I asked for help. I should have known better than to come into the city for help.

Yshai was quite knowledgeable, helped us connect with the right embroiderer and assisted us with creating a proper embroidered jacquard for our organization.

B&J has such a wonderful selection of unique fabrics. They carry common fabrics too, but the charm of this fabric store is their one of a kind pieces, and specialty fabrics.meticulously organized.super clean.friendly and helpful staff

I could spend hours in here! Oh, I just did. You'll find things you need and things you don't need and pretty soon your hands will be full. The people that work here are all really nice and helpful if you are looking for something in particular.

Love Purl Soho and the lovely patterns from Purl Bee. Have always enjoyed visiting the store and the website is easy to use. I love the B&J Fabrics line of yarns and Purl Soho's own line of yarns. Truly my go to location for B&J Fabrics.

The staff was amazing and the organization of the store is to die for as well as the high quality fabric for good prices. 10/10
