Caribbean Restaurant BK9 reviews
19 BK9 is a dope spot that is under a 5 minute walk from the Barclay Center.
The food is on point, the mixed drinks are definitely a staple, and it has this chill contemporary Caribbean vibe.
If you are looking for spot that can be upbeat for brunch on a weekend afternoon, or chill and laidback on a weekday evening, BK9 is to be put in your rotation.
FYI - you MUST try the Oxtail Hash.
Food and Star are Excellent!
Post pandemic we hosted an intimate affair and BK9 came through! They created an extensive menu with customized branding to make every moment of the night Special
This place will not stop texting me offers. I never even signed up for their mailing list. I have asked to unsubscribe 5 times already. This is ridiculous
First of all the service is. Excellent the food is very very good. The cook made the mussel it's very very very good the sauce is out of this world I drink my leftover ok go and try it out you will enjoy every bit of food thank to the chef and the young lady who works on a monday good job I will always come back thank you guys
Nice place decided to be seated outside which turned out to be great because there was a live band playing on the street.
The food was great as well as the drinks!
Drove a hour and a half to this place. Food was disgusting. Service was terrible the wait for food was over and hour. Definitely would not return to this place or Recommend it. The food was not fresh and had a foul odor. Terrible service
I live across from the restaurant and want to support them, but they have continued to violate NYC noise ordinances, particularly in the past year. It's mostly in the evenings but also during the day. I need to get to bed at a reasonable hour for work, and with a full band on the street playing past the allotted 10pm cutoff, it's difficult to do.
I hope BK9 can start being a better neighbor, and would support them if they were.
Hands down thr best burger I've had in a while seems to be a black own establishment great service good environment and great music highly recommended
Excellent food and excellent service. The food and were all that and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone
Enjoyed my experience. Ricky my server/bartender was excellent! Great ambience food and music.highly recommend
Magical ambiance. The food and culture will take you away, and have you looking forward to frequenting.
This is one of my go-to Haitian brunch spots I'm an addict of their Baked Tour d'Legume & Eggs (this is probably the 5th or 6th time I ordered it in the past 1.5 years). Their black rice and legume are off the hook. Must have a side of pikliz to complete the tour
The Brunch was average if that. The chicken and waffles was gross. The fries were grease logged. The french toast was okay. The turkey sausages were the same exact ones you buy from the supermarket - Caroline’s. Waffles dry, fried chick was terrible. And, to make matters worse the price was $100 which wasn’t worth the meal at all. Maybe the dinner is better. But, this wasn’t anything to write home about if you know what I mean. The Margaritas were great though! Spot is cute. Ambiance nice and music cool.
Had a nice time there with a great friend. Food was delicious but there wasn't much of an option for vegetarians that night, but went another time and I was satisfied. Looking forward to my next trip there.
I dont know if it was the place or my waitress. When me and my group arrived we sat right away. We ordered our food and drink. Our drinks came about 30mins later watered down melted ice etc. 20 mins after our drinks we get 1 of our appetizers which was cold. One person ordered fries never came out util we said something and once they came out the fries were cold and hard. Another person ordered the jerk chicken empanadas hards and also cold and very over cooked. Long story short everthing we ordered was cold except the vegetables. The waitress kept blaming the kitchen bein backed up but our food shouldn’t have been cold. So wat was the real issue.
As a South Floridian who loves all sorts of Caribbean food, BK9 is the truth. The Crispy snapper is amazing as is. Don't get substitutions for anything. Just enjoy. Drinks are yummy as well.
So, we entered and I couldn’t tell if I was in a club, or a restaurant. We were seated, then moved because they wanted to give the seating to another group, mind you the group did not even sit there. We waited and waited and waited some more until our waitress finally came over to take our orders. We gave her our order for drinks and appetizers, two minutes later, she came and asked if we will like to put in our orders for our entrees, we said no. We order appetizers and two rum punches. We waited about 20 minutes just to receive two rum punches. Mind you, the table that was next to us, who they moved us for, received all of their orders before us and we were there first. The waitress came to us about 5 times to tell us that she was still waiting for our food and drinks. I ordered the pepper shrimp and received a bowl of vegetables with a total of 3 shrimps that were hard and rubbery, the oxtail empanadas were tasteless and cold. The only thing we received that tasted good was the wings my husband ordered and the drinks. Other than that, it’s a no. I doubt I will ever be back. I wanted to actually order dinner, but the waitress was confused and I waited long enough just for a drink and appetizers, I could have only imagined how long I would have waited for that. I looked forward to visiting this place and was extremely disappointed.
If you’re looking a Black-Owned option that serves amazing Caribbean food & brunch BK9 is your spot! On the weekends, they have live jazz music which I love! They no longer do a bottomless brunch option, but you can purchase a personal carafe in multiple flavors for $15 which is still affordable.
Located in Park Slope, this location is right on a Main Street with lots of nice shops if you want to walk around before or after your reservation!
I always get the oxtail hash from brunch - AMAZING you will not regret it!
Nasty, straight up nasty. You see that spaghetti? Overcooked. I wouldn't feed it to my dog. Frozen sauce on spaghetti too? Disgusting. Fix it up.
