Black Pond Wildlife Management Area reviews
14 Black Pond has always been a great place to go to have a nice day. Its location, tucked away makes it even more special.
The beach, El Dorado Beach Preserve, is a jewel in its self. A little but of a walk but worth the effort. I've had the pleasure of enjoying the area since the 80's.
Favorite beach to go to. The walk reminds me of the boardwalks back in jersey and than boom. It's a beautiful beach with a great view
What a great hidden treasure! If you are seeking a private place to hike, then check out this place. The scenery is stunning, wild and untouched. There are boardwalks which make it an easy hike for families with strollers or those who use wheelchairs. It is wooded with shade and there are benches every few hundred feet or so to stop and rest if you want to relax and take in the peaceful view. I could feel stress melting away here. There are no public bathrooms or water though so come prepared.
Beautiful spot and very out of the way. Keep in mind, no life guards or amenities. It is a nature preserve and needs to be treated with utmost care.
The beach access is closed cause the DEC sucks, they closed it due to high water back in 2019 and rather than fix it they put in a new gate and parking area further away to deter people from going there.
I loved this trail, thick forests and all natural too, it's like walking into the animal world without glass. Literally a small piece of the wild America.
It is sad that vandals have damaged the walkway do that you can not walk all the way to the lake.
I would recommend coming here in the fall (October). Trails are nice and well maintained board walk. Great views of the pond and a very scenic area. The path leading to lake is still closed off and the ADA ramp leading down to the beach
has not been repaired. Use extreme caution if you trespass into this area.
This was a gorgeous place. The path was very short (10-minute walk) but worth the fantastic views. I highly recommend passing by if around the area. I went during fall so the foliage was changing creating beautiful gradients.
Beach is closed again this year. Fishing area is covered with thick weeds. Very disappointing after having to walk a mile to get there.
Such a beautiful spot to visit.
Walkway was closed today, but got this gorgeous shot from the edge.
CLOSED, CLOSED, CLOSED. Don't waste your time. Due to high water this year, the walkway over the swamp is underwater and there is no safe way around it. Wasted trip
The boardwalk area was really pretty and really nice. However, when we got to the beach area I was absolutely disgusted with the amount of trash there was. Obviously it washes up from the lake, but it was unsanitary. I wouldn’t swim there, let alone let my dogs swim there.
Looks good after hours spent cleaning it up today. Now I know why straws should be banned. There was also a large amount of plastic tampon applicators, shotgun shells, & firework remnants.
