Black Seed Bagels reviews
17Below average bagel. Customer service is terrible, they got our order wrong and when we spoke to them, they condescendingly refused to fix our issue in a very rude way as if we weren’t paying customers and as though we were lying about what we originally ordered. I would not recommend this place at all, and would urge management to either train or fire the staff, especially the lady calling out the order numbers and handing out the orders.
Great hot honey, good service, a little over priced but that’s because bagels are half the price and twice as good back in Montreal. Would take this over a busy tourist spot up the road any day. Two bagels with schemer and tip was $15.
First visit and was delightfully impressed.
Great hustle and bustle atmosphere.
The service was structure of ordering works great.
Coffee on point.
Bagel was SO fresh.
Fast service and employees so nice, which is something you just don't see anymore.
You're doing a great job down there on Broadway! Keep it up!
Fantastic shop to stop at if your visiting NY and want great bagels and fantastic customer service. The man who was checking us out (I didn’t catch his name) was so kind throughout our entire experience. On top of the great customer service the bagels were amazing. I tried the Boca and loved it.
Amazing! Great customer service! Namnae (sorry if i spelled it incorrectly. But he gave exceptional service and gave off great energy! Love him and the turkey with avacado was amaaaaaaaaazzzzzzinnnnnggggg
Love these bagels which are similar to Montreal style - not the tall, fluffy and bready types you’ll see elsewhere.
Growing up in LA, I couldn’t understand the hype around bagels. Yeah, they’re good, but amazing? ! Life-changing? A must have? They never hit me like that…
Until a magical being recommended @blackseedbagels Being in the mecca for bagels (NYC), I figured I should give this place a try and it did not.disappoint. While I don’t have a standard for these glutenous lil delights, I know that these are GOOD! Their bagels are made fresh daily, they have so many options and their coffee is equally as great.
Today, I ordered the Fall special (whitefish salad with green tomatoes) and a chai latte (a MUST if you love chai). The salad was creamy, crunchy, and all the things you would want in a medley like this - think chicken, or tuna, salad with the fixings. The green tomatoes added a much needed extra crunch to the softness of the bagel and salad. I make sure to stop by this place every NY trip that I’m staying in the NOMAD area and I recommend you should as well.
SAVE this post for your next visit to NY when you’re craving some good bagels & coffee

I eat at Black Seed *way* too often. The gluten free bagels are so good. Chewy, fresh, with a great flavor. It’s so hard to find a great gluten free bagel and Black Seed hits the mark! (They also have a great iced latte)
Store can’t follow simple instructions. They always add something you didn’t order (cream cheese when you never asked for it) or forget something (bacon on a bacon egg and cheese). Highly suggest Ess a Bagel instead.
Very tasty veggie bagel with vegan cream cheese (scallion tofu). It was stacked with veggies and loved the capers. It’s has been a while since I had a vegan bagel sandwich and the vegan scallion tofu cream cheese satisfying my craving. My only critique was wish it had a flavorful sauce to take it over the top.
Shop was pretty busy, heads up!
I sent my husband to walk several blocks in the RAIN to get me a bagel with nova spread and I got disgusting scallions. Also note the place is chaotic.
Delicious, friendly and fast! They have this fab "order ahead" app that makes grabbing the treat bagel breakfast a breeze before the morning meeting!
Ok for breakfast, but nothing special. The everything bagel is essentially just poppy seed and sesame seeds, completely lacking in flavor. They ring you up pretty quickly, but it took a long time to serve up a simple bagel sandwich. There were 6 or 7 employees behind the counter, all seemingly busy, but just not very efficient.
We tried their egg and cheese bagel and hot coffee. The overall taste was decent. The bagels felt not so fresh but overall okay. Although a little pricey for portion and size of bagel.
It's good, it's worth eating quickly if you don't want to look for something better
Newly working in the area — Black Seed is my new fave — staff is quick and friendly, orders always correct, and authentic NYC bagels with all the options. (Cinnamon raisin is the ONLY fruited bagel, which is the only correct answer!) Go, Black Seed!
