I ordered the omelette separately and it was delicious!
It was a terrace across the street from the park, so I could feel the warm sunlight:)
I rested comfortably during my free time thanks to the friendly service.

Lovely place. Had a good meal and time for brunch. Great food, great service. Great decor. Although their kitchen closed between brunch and dinner they made us fill welcome all throughout. Highly recommended and will come back.

The people in restaurant are extremely friendly. I was there last night with friends and I was taking photos, the lady in front showed me the whole restaurant inside out. So I can shoot nice pictures. Good is delicious. I never know olive salad and cucumber salad can be this delicious. The waiter and the people in the kitchen are so nice. Wonderful place.

We checked out the menu online before going, but were told once we got there that the summer menu is quite paired down and that certain items were only available on the winter menu (which is not mentioned on the website). When we asked about the restaurant week menu, we were informed this was not available on Saturdays (also not mentioned anywhere on the website or social media). For the main we ordered the tomahawk for two, which was cooked very well but unfortunately tasted just like a ballpark all beef hotdog? Two shining points were the friendly staff & service, and that the red wine was perfectly chilled. Hope to come back to a better, more avast menu!

The space is really nice and great for larger groups. That said, my friends and I went for restaurant week and I was underwhelmed by the food. The price for the 3 courses was a good deal, but I probably wouldn’t come back again. Also, I got a *mocktail* and it was $18. The same price as an actual alcoholic drink.

When I arrived at the Blackbarn Restaurant, I was met with a warm welcome and superb service. Despite being early for dinner due to another commitment, the accommodating staff graciously attended to my needs.

Nestled across the beautiful Madison Square Park, the restaurant's location is picture-perfect. The alfresco dining experience and the serene park view were refreshing and calming. The weather was in my favor, and I chose a curbside table shaded by vibrant red umbrellas.

My dinner commenced with a basket of freshly baked bread and a small plate of butter doused in a tasty sauce; both were served promptly even though the restaurant wasn't officially ready for dinner service. The service was commendable. The waiting staff was courteous and professional, showcasing the restaurant's dedication to its patrons.

The food was nothing short of excellent. Each dish was meticulously prepared and presented in an aesthetically pleasing manner. My appetizer, Bone Marrow, was made with Manila clams, a lemon-herb crumb, and a shallot reduction, creating a harmonious blend of flavors. The main course, Grilled Amish Chicken, was tender, succulent, and served with white bean and leek ravioli, charred ramps, garlic crumbs, and parmesan. Each bite was a testament to the chef's craftsmanship.

The pricing was very reasonable for the food quality and the service rendered. Furthermore, the restaurant features an onsite bar that serves an array of alcoholic beverages, making it an excellent place for an after-work rendezvous or a weekend night out.

However, there were a couple of areas that could use some attention. The staff, while courteous, seemed unsure when asked about the specific culinary style of the dishes served. While it was eventually categorized as American cuisine, it would benefit the team to understand the restaurant offerings better. The Diet Coke was also slightly off, being a bit watery and less effervescent than expected for such a high-end establishment.

The superior elements of the dining experience quickly overshadowed these minor issues. The decaffeinated coffee I ended my meal with was a highlight - rich, aromatic, not too strong, and served with an array of sweeteners in a charming mug. The ambiance and layout of the restaurant also deserve mention, as the spacious interior and well-spaced tables ensured a private and comfortable dining experience.

In conclusion, my experience at Blackbarn Restaurant was a delightful one. The slight opportunities for improvement do not detract from the overall high-quality dining experience. I eagerly anticipate my next visit to sample more of their exquisite dishes. This restaurant is a gem in the heart of Manhattan, offering excellent food and service at a reasonable price point, complete with an onsite bar.

Had my anniversary dinner here the other night and the waitstaff was amazing and attentive. I have had branzino all over the world and at many Michelin star restaurants, however this was the best one I have ever had in over 20 years. I highly recommend it and cheers to chef Brian and his team for such a lovely night.

Great recommendation from a friend of ours. We ordered the shrimp and grits, Johnny cakes and the burger - all tasted great. Their cocktails were really good too. Would rate this a 5, except that even though we reserved a table for 3 (included our 3 year old) and we confirmed that on arrival, they still seated us at a table for 2. Contrary to the opinion of some, kids are also people and may want their own seat.

We has a reservation for the main dinning hall which, unbeknown to us until arrival, was closed because of water damage. Seating at the tavern -probably fun for drinks and a bite- is less than ideal for a family dinner.

Had a very nice time here. Great location.

Staff was very nice, had a nice summer cocktail and the salad was soo good. Chicken could have been a tad less salty but lot of good things to stay about the salad I had.

Will happily come back.

Food was really good. I came for a work lunch and the table had fish tacos, arctic char and other salads. The only thing that was disappointing was lobster roll. Everything else was great.

Service was slow which didn’t make sense since there weren’t a lot in the restaurant at that time. Took 10 min to get bill.

I think this space is better for evening than lunch. If you go for lunch, stay in front of restaurant or outside (weather pending).

We ordered sparkling water and it was brought to us 5 mins after we were served regular water that we did not order. Bread reached the table 5 mins after we were done with our appetizer. The butter, garlic and olive oil spread was unique and delicious. The elasticity of the garlic was perfection as an awesome tasting spreadable item. Our Lamb meatballs were delicious with its yogurt based dip. The tuna tartar was fresh with a nice mix of crunch and fresh avocado. The cucumber salad lightly seasoned and fresh. Both diner plates, bass & lobster along with Beef ribs were served at room temperature. Highly disappointing! Well, at least the fries were hot. The food was reheated and was very good. Despite being told that our inconvenience would reflect on some type of discount, that did not occur.
Good food, hospitable people but just not a good experience overall. Too many mistakes with no accountability.
