15 Delicious farm to table lunch in cafeteria style setting
I had the vegetarian option which was delicious! 4 mushrooms instead of beef
It really achieves the objective of serving great tasting food. The ingredients are the best tasting I had in US. The food is delicate and different from the overall American food it escapes from the traditional lots of butter/salt/sugar/pepper. I had the option for the cafeteria and the service is acceptable, could be better, especially considering the price point.
What a great experience. We walked the grounds before our dinner, maybe bring hiking shoes because the trails are uneven. Really nice. The food was very good but the tenderloin was luke warm, same for the coffee. The heirloom tomato dish was a little bland. We really like the squash. Staff are very attentive and helpful.
The food was amazing. I can’t get the bialy off my mind. Highly recommend the lunch option if you’re looking for an affordable treat.
What a fabulous dinner! The service was top notch! Alberto was so knowledgeable and he anticipated our needs. We started with a soft potato and rye bread with an assortment of cucumbers. Kudos to the chef who made another salad for my daughter when they saw that she didn’t like the tomatoes. We said it’s OK, but they brought her an apple, melon, and cucumber salad that she devoured. She loved it! We had the sweet seasonal tomato salad with the beet and tomato gazpacho. Each course came with wine parings. Dinner was roast chicken which I thought was under seasoned. The only seasoning was the sea salt on top. The tender sweet corn with cheese and fried shallots was great. Roast eggplants with tomato purée. Dessert was panna cotta with a blueberry compote and lemon thyme cream which was delicious. Over all a good meal. All in was $175 per person for the community table.
A real food experience through the lens of a future looking chef not satisfied with food inside the box. Nothing is wasted. Check out the wine list.to the end. Fun.
The experience was so unique, special, and delicious it's hard to put into words how wonderful of a place this is. Attention to detail, originality of food, knowledge from the staff, surprise visit to the kitchen. Everything was perfectly executed and 5+ hours later we left extremely satisfied and impressed. (And with a to-go loaf of some of the best bread we've ever had!)
A good restaurant in blue hills that you can have a food at the level of second michelin star in corner of a really good and silent jungle
Beautiful grounds and experimental farms, fields for pasture for animals and greenhouses. Kind, knowledgeable staff and exquisite dining. Can't recommend enough. The attention to detail and complete hospitality is what is so special about this place.
Absolutely stunning the food service. Thank you for such a unique experience in a beautiful setting.
In short, quite underwhelming.you pay $20 parking to walk around the property that you can do in 20 minutes.
We went to the cafeteria and had a coffee (that's all they had at their cafeteria) that wasn't good.staff was not particularly nice either.i didn't feel 'welcomed'.
Blue Hill at Stone Barn is an experience for every one of your senses. Visually, the property is stunning and deserved of it’s own time to walk thru the farm and greenhouse. The food is (obviously) amazing - but did you know there’s a cafeteria style lunch that you can reserve in advance and enjoy one of the freshest, tastiest casual lunches for a modest price? If you haven’t visited, make a reservation and dine here today. The experience will be absolutely worthwhile!
Food was underwhelming, not worthe hype-perhaps its because its lunch?
Also terribly rude female (young, blond) counter person, such an entitled bothered attitudy personality that ruined the entire experience. Maybe Ms.you should experience some Michelin service, then youd realize how vastly inept and unpleasant you are at your job.
Atomosphere, nothing special than atypical restaurant here in theNYC.
Took walk around the grounds and be careful, the other genius thing, perhaps its to keep it subtle and true working farm (but then you shouldnt have fancy super clean jdeeres that 5 keepers joy ride) - nothing is marked, youll end up deep in the preserve if you take the outer loop by swam lake. Best of luck Blue Hill, used to be better, now just worn down and run by attitudy kids.
Very good farm to table food. It's self service so we need to stand in line for a while to get our food. But all the dishes were very good.
This is the second year in a row that we have attended Blue Hill at Stone Barns Cafeteria. A delightful four course dinner with drinks (both alcoholic and non) included.
As previously, the service is wonderful: prompt and attentive. The food is delicious and service provided a great deal of knowledge about what we were eating.
