Blue Ribbon Restaurant & Bakery, Schenectady NY

My family and I went just recently to Blue Ribbon, got my order wrong plus my food was cold. There was only 6 of us including myself and my sister didn't even eat her meal because it came out cold. While I was at the diner I felt a little ill and when I returned home I went right to sleep. Once I woke up I had to use the facilities. I did not have an enjoyable experience at Blue Ribbon and its been years since I've been there, I will not be returning. I only ordered 2 scrabbled eggs, sausage, Canadian bacon and toast. Didn't get my bacon and gave me hash browns, all cold.

Favorite restaurant by far. Wide variety on the menu, food always impeccably cooked, fast service, employees are very kind and treat you well.

Blue Ribbon is the best! I love a diner where there are 80 things on the menu (even though I usually get the same two or three- the Open Face Turkey Sandwich was my favorite). My kid went to Union College and whenever I was in town I tried to go to Blue Ribbon. The food is good, the service is good and everyone is friendly. The desserts are AMAZING. I have ordered cheesecakes a week in advance to take them back to Connecticut. Their cheesecakes are among the best in the country! I love Blue Ribbon and can't wait to go back!

Everyone already knows that this restaurant is the best in town but the customer service is absolutely above and beyond! Although we have been ordering takeout regularly, Zach, the manager and the rest of their staff have gone out of their way to serve my family! I can't thank them enough for the best food and service in the Capital District!

I've been going to Blue Ribbon my whole life. They've come a long way over the years. The wait staff is so sweet, and the kitchen is always lightning quick. One of my favorite spots to bring friends for breakfast.

Update 2: I always forget the free dessert offer but that’s OK. I actually went in to the diner a couple times in the past few weeks and the roast turkey, as well as a BLT were delicious and the service was excellent.

Update: Oh wow, thanks so much for your care. I will remember your dessert offer. BTW it wasn’t an online order, we called it in & I drove & picked it up. I didn’t wanna call the store because I didn’t wanna have to drive all the way back. But thank you for you good fare to a loyal customer family. 4 stars moved to 5 stars.

Great food and service but 12/9/20 7: 30pm order you forgot the mashed potatoes. If you were out it would have been nice if you subbed a baked potato or something. I wanted to shoot you an email but your website just has a phone number so I'm mentioning it here.

Our waitet was very friendly and the manager of the place seemed like a very nice lady. The food was good, decently priced, and the place was clean. I recommend this place

My wife and I ordered 2 salads for pickup; a Cobb salad with American Cheese instead of Swiss Cheese and no Onions, and a Classic Greek Salad with Pork Souvlaki which is supposed to include Feta Cheese, Olives, Grape Leaves and Pepperoncini and optional Anchovies.

What she got was her Cobb Salad with Swiss Cheese instead of American.

What I got was the Souvlaki Salad instead of a Classic Greek Salad which meant there were no Grape Leaves, no Feta Cheese, no Olives, no Pepperoncini (which is actually included even in the Souvlaki Salad). It did include the Anchovies. I noticed the Grape leaves were missing upon pickup and they went back and got them. We were still charged or should I say overcharged for a Classic Greek since when I added it up at home it came to 50 cents more than it should have.

It's going to be a while before we order from Blue Ribbon again.

Quiet, homey atmosphere inside. Waitress was friendly, but seemed overworked and didn't check to see how dinner was. Another thing that I appreciated was that she didn't ask us 50 times if we were ready to order, which is even more annoying than having someone not check in to see how the food was. Big portions that will make for great leftovers tomorrow, I would recommend this place!

Not only was everything great.food was delicious! Something should be said for the service. The waitress was so friendly and accommodating. The desserts were UNBELIEVABLE!

They used to have reasonable prices and nice size portions for the money. Now, the prices for meals and a slice of cheesecake is astronomical and the portion sizes have dropped in size immensely. That has nothing to do with the corona virus/pandemic as this has been that way for several years now.
