Blue Ribbon Sushi, New York NY

Came here for a late lunch with a friend and had a great time. Luckily it wasn’t busy and the staff were super kind and attentive. We ordered a couple rolls and also the shumai. It was all very tasty

Excellent sushi and service, felt authentic in every way. I haven’t had sushi this good since Tsukiji market in Tokyo. Menu is substantial, but they had a photo menu available that clearly shows what to expect from each item. Call me basic but when you pay this much for sushi, it’s nice to know what you’ll be getting. The waitress that served us was processional, classy, and stayed out of our way as much as possible which I absolutely appreciate. Fantastic meal to celebrate an important occasion and I highly recommend this place.

DO NOT GET THE BUTTERFISH SUSHI! I had no idea that this fish can cause digestive issues and Blue Ribbon really needs to take this off their menu. My coworkers and I went to Blue Ribbon for lunch on Tuesday and as of Friday as I write this review my stomach is still killing me. Please take this off the menu! Other than the butterfish (which did taste great, just not great for the stomach) the rest of my meal tasted wonderful. Just a very word of caution on the Butterfish.

Tbh the food is just FINE. Overpriced for what it is. Quality is equivalent of sushi that's half the price.

Went here for dinner last night and cancelled our lunch plans to come back here today. Incredibly fresh apps and sushi. Could not be better overall. 11/10!

Cannot say enough good things about this place. Food is incredible. REAL sushi and beyond fresh. Everything we got was amazing. We have tried so many sushi spots and this is by far one of the best. Small place but very homey. Zou, our server, was so nice and helpful! Will definitely be coming back

I've been there several times for lunch as I've started a new job nearby. Great spot! Quick service, delicious food. Not terribly overpriced for Manhattan. Nice ambiance (quiet, dim, basement vibe)

The ambiance is visually quiet and calming but the energy inside the restaurant is busy and fun. Service is fantastic and the sushi is absolutely outstanding. When looking at the prices I wasn't expecting to be as blown away as I was. The edamame is worth getting, even though it will ruin the regular edamame for you at other spots. The crispy rice app was so good, I could have had two orders to myself. Their seafood tastes really fresh and the food came out in a timely manor. Highly recommend.

Good traditional Japanese food. You will not find a Philadelphia roll here but that is for a good reason. I believe it's been around over a decade and that speaks for itself in this city. Great sashimi and sushi. Dragon roll is off the charts. Also staff is very nice knowledgeable and helpful. Hard to find bathroom is mid restaurant on your right side. You'll see them by their doorhandles otherwise quite hard to find. Also sign at very top.

The food is amazing. It is a bit crowded but not crushed.
We ordered omakase, ie chefs choice. I tasted new and wonderful combinations.
I can also recommend the spicy lobster roll.

Fish was so fresh straight from Japan, the service always blows me out for the water.
Love going to blue ribbon!

Quinnt was the best waiter I’ve had at an NYC restaurant in a long time. Recommend some of the best dishes we had while being attentive, funny and enthusiastic. WE LOVE QUINNT! The fish was fantastic and the whole place had a pleasant, calm, and inviting environment. Been on my bucket list for a long time and didn’t come short of expectations. Will be coming back again soon.

We ordered the sashimi deluxe and spicy scallop rolls, they are delicious! We also got mochi ice cream for dessert, highly recommended! Not too sweet and the mochi skin is perfect:)

Sushis and rolls are delicious. Sad not to have had the appetite to test the meat! A small inconveniance (but that a NYC classic) : the way too loud music.
