Wow. We do travel whole lot and abroad. And only couple of places are memorable if we talk food. This place is amazing. Catfish was most flavorful as our lovely weitres Saima was telling us.
Beyond that, potatoes were great.
We Recommend this place very much.

I would’ve given it 5 stars and before I get into why I didn’t let me say that the reason they got 4 stars is because I love that it’s Black Owned & the atmosphere is laid back & they play good music. The decor is also beautiful. The starters were actually pretty good.

We had the chicken gravy biscuits and wings (great choice)

Brandon was our waiter … he wasn’t attentive at all. Seemed too busy on the computer or talking. He took so long to take our order his colleagues had to prompt him to do so. The guy bringing out the food didn’t know who’s food belong to who. Then when we asked for a refill he forgot because he never came back.

We asked our waiter Brandon for a refill and after he put our plates away he told the bartender to make our drink which was backwards to me.

The burgers oh my. We love burgers and this wasn’t one of my favorites. It was Dry. It needed pickles or more cheese (you can barely taste it) a piece of lettuce even the sauce was light it was so DRY the bread was falling apart.

The prices are fair. Maybe I just came on the wrong Day. I visit restaurants often and was told of this place by a friend. It didn’t disappoint badly. The other waitress was on point with the other customers. So it’s still worth a try!

I really enjoyed the meal I had buttermilk pancakes, chicken chicken wings.very tasty the buttermilk pancakes was excellent and the chicken had a different spice of sweet. I meant the manager David he understood very well the Dilemma that I had as far as my experience I couldn't make it up blessings to Bistro 116th Street 8th Avenue

Came here on a Tuesday afternoon and I wasn’t really impressed. The place has a good vibe but the service isn’t good and the food wasn’t worth the prices we paid.

We were seated at a table immediately and our sever told us that we could find the happy hour menu using the QR Code. After we told her it wasn’t on the webpage she brought us another copy of the same QR code and kept insisting that the happy hour menu was there (it wasn’t). I eventually just asked her what the happy hour menu was but she didn’t seem to be knowledgeable about that or the rest of the menu.

I ordered my eggs fried hard and they came out runny so I asked for them to be redone over hard at which point she tried to tell me that they were hard instead of just fixing the order right away. The peach mimosa I had wasn’t really good either. It tastes funny and was small. I would like to add that there were others in my party that enjoyed the food, so this place is worth a try. I don’t think I’ll be back though.

Warning: bad quality food, under staffed services that could not keep up with the number of tables they are seating, long waiting for seating and then once seated expect to wait 45 minutes to an hour to be served with food.

The star we are giving goes to the dj and his energy in creating a community and Black Excellence vibe. Loved the gogo music!

This place was packed with a lot of people waiting to be seated. Hosts seemed overwhelmed with the number of guests. We were seated outdoors at 2pm. In-part, we had ordered the grilled cheese sandwich and asked to replace the french fries for a side of veggies. Not only did it take over an hour to get our food, but when it did come the plate for the grilled cheese had remnants of someone else’s plate (spoonful of cold slaw slabbed on the corner if the plate) and the waiter tells us that there are no substitutes on Saturdays and we have to eat what we get. The plate overall looked dirty and the food was slabbed onto it. It looked sad and unappetizing. Being as hungry as we were, we decided to just accept the situation. The table next to us was seated at the same time as us and did not receive their food until a good 15-20 minutes after us.

The food we ordered was disappointing to say the least. Greasy, poorly presented, and definitely not quality food. The menu prices did not match what we ended up ordering. Sad to say, we are not coming back.

We had the fried chicken with pancakes and catfish with eggs and grits. The food was good but the portion was so little it was about 1 egg and one liddle of grits was not worth the price at all. The fish was skinny strips. I would Not order that again. The chicken was good the pancakes was good I had to send back they forgot the nuts and was like two slices of peach

Black owned spot with great vibes for brunch! The DJ was on point and the fried chicken is easily the best I've ever had in the city! It was also a nice touch to actually see the owner and for him stop by the tables to make sure customers were happy. The hospitality and fried chicken makes BLVD a top 5 for me

Waitress was very nice. Food was ok. The problem was the loud music. My phone took a DB reading and it was 90! I could barely talk to my wife. We didn’t look at reviews but noise was a complaint.

The decor inside looked great just wish the taste of food matched that same energy. The food had no flavor. Collard greens, soy garlic wings & fries was my selection to start off as a first time visit. Can’t mess that up right?

Met up with some friends for dinner and drinks. Great happy hour, karaoke on Tuesdays, delicious drinks and food. I had the watermelon and goat cheese salad as an appetizer and my friends had the chicken wings. Both were amazing. So were the cocktails. The vibe was awesome. I'll definitely be back!

The service was horrible. I came in alone on 8/7/22 I placed my order and drink and was not served my drink never came not even a cup of water, I wasn’t asked how my steak was going to be cooked I didn’t receive my alcoholic beverage and everyone else around me had theirs. I’m disappointed in the establishment because I neighbor the business and now I have to seek elsewhere

It's a whole vibe! Loved the dj and the waiters! Did was good, too. I got the sandwich with turkey bacon, turkey sausage, egg and cheese. The rest of my party got fish and grits and loved it! The drinks were strong! I'd definitely return to try something else on the menu

Our visit was on Sunday June teen. The food was good, had better soul food. The fried chicken was over salty, the biscuit was good, pancakes was ordinary but good, mash was good.
One was my family members had the steak which was too large to to cut into normal size pieces to chew and under cook although they mentioned well done. The waitress was all over the place and we waited 2 1/2 hours to eat since the waitress forgot to put the order on time.
The place was over packed, forget social distancing that’s how much people was in there.
We addressed a few complaints with the waitress but the manager didn’t have the courtesy to come to the table directly to personally show their face but instead delegated the messages to the waitress, poor customer service.
Will not be returning me or my family.
If it wasn’t for the DJ playing good music and entertaining the crowd I would have gave this company 1 star. Thank you DJ for great music!

The place inside is beautiful looking and Instagram worthy. The drinks were cute and strong as well. The service wasn't the best unfortunately not the most attentive servers. Lastly the happy hour is too short only 2hrs and the food is ok. The biscuits were great. But the rest of the food for the price isn't really worth it. Still had a good time overall.

This was the worst restaurant experience. The food taste terrible. I got the biscuits, pure salt! They forgot to put garlic and butter on second biscuit and brought the last dish way after the others. I wouldn’t even be making this review if they would have taken the burger off like they said they would! We paid 14 dollars for some “okay” not good Mac n cheese! (And got three) The entre’s were small and overpriced! Black folk do better! We love y’all but if you gone charge a arm and leg for soul food make sure it’s decent! Southern folk that know soul food go to Popeyes. Get your bang for your buck. Music was excellent and decor was exquisite. You get one additional star for that.

Visited this location Sunday morning for an 11: 30am reservation. We were nicely greeted at the door and promptly seated. It was a pretty full house but a calm vibe, with gospel music playing softly in the background.

With the calm vibe came lackadaisical service. Staff members often crowded near the kitchen chatting or attending to other tasks. Our assigned waiter completely disappeared after taking our food and drink orders. I watched my drink (carafe of 116th/Frederick Douglass) sit in the bar service window for over 15 minutes with our waiter nowhere in sight. I eventually got up and walked over the bar to ask if I could collect the drink myself. We barely saw our assigned waiter again until it was time for the check (probably because he wanted to ensure that he received his gratuity).

The food was okay- The shrimp/grits ($32) were a bit salty but had good flavor. The blueberry Pancakes ($18) were very fluffy. My husband did not enjoy his burger ($18). Overall, the taste of the food did not match the price. The best item ordered was the carafe of the 116th/Fredrick Douglas moonshine cocktail! It was strong, delicious, and worth the $50 price tag.

The highlight of our experience was a server named CONRAD, who stepped in when our assigned server disappeared. He was very friendly and checked in on us throughout our meal. He appeared to be one of few servers moving with a purpose and putting the customer first. I'd say he deserves a raise. THANK YOU CONRAD!

Overall, I would not make any grand efforts to return to this restaurant. However, I might consider trying their happy hour menu if ever happen to be in the area.

Delicious food and great atmosphere. Stuff here is very attentive. They can also give best advice on the food. Totally enjoyed my chicken and pancakes. I am lucky to love nearby, will definitely come back!

Was there with a friend last week and had an overall pleasant experience. We had reservations and was seated rather quickly and everyone was friendly and accommodating. Nice vibe. We were there on a Friday evening and there was a DJ. The food was decent. Definitely enjoyed the sides.

This spot is live! Drinks were in point! Had a great time around my people in this black owned spot. I was with my husband, date night. Mac n cheese is good, greens decent, chicken delicious, fish good too. Yams on the money. Service great. The workers were dancing to the music as if they were not working, yet they were. They were just having fun doing it. We heard to kitchen laughing about something. Good energy. DJ gave us a Usher/Chris Brown versus. Everyone was in a debate with strangers like we knew each other over who is better. We say Usher hands down. Chris is dope, but Usher got hits on hits on hits yall.fun night. So fun I went the next weekend with my BFF she loved it too! Different DJ but atmosphere was a real good vibe. Too hot for the outdoor area, will try next time. Parking is not easy but possible.

I had a terrible experience today and I have eaten here several times before. It was quite disappointing because the owner was present as well. Our server forgot to enter our order and we watched several patrons who arrived AFTER us receive their food. After 60 minutes, my sister finally asked where our food was. The server blamed it on a new food runner. After another 15 minutes he finally brought us exactly 3 biscuits for our table of 3. My daughter hungrily ate 2 of them. Patrons who arrived after us continued to be served.
Finally, completely fed up we cancelled our order.
Our server brought us a $20 bill for my drink and My daughters tea that we had sipped
On for an hour and a half waiting for our food that never came. I left $20 and went home disappointed and angry.
I work in customer service and it was extremely frustrating to experience bad service, especially with inflation and post Covid.
