Bob Mims Heating & Air Conditioning, Staten Island NY

Installed furnace and AC compressor in oct 19'. There is clearly something wrong with the AC unit. It is very loud and sounds like an air tool compressor. It gets louder the longer it is on. You can almost hear it 4 houses away at the end of the block. 2 neighbors complained, and one of them keeps complaining. They came and replaced the fan, but it is still loud, and hasn't changed.

It's nice that after spending $6k, and still under warranty that I will have to call somebody else. Think twice about going to this company.

I decided to leave this review for the woman who answered my call today. Her name is Angela and she was so pleasant and patient with me especially during this hectic times. I've been in Fla all winter and wanted to make my contract payment, at first I thought I wouldn't get anyone on the line but the lovely woman was available immediately! She took my credit card information and within 3 minutes I received the receipt in my email from her. Made my experience very pleasant. I asked her why she was in the office with all this madness going on but she told me she is working remotely from home today! I am very impressed with the clarity and response of her taking my call but most of all I am also relieved that she is working safely, I let her know this. A+ for Bob Mims in my book!

Joshua and James were prompt on a Monday morning before the holidays to replace our water heater. Professional courteous and clean. Even configured our pipes for more efficiency! Been a customer for over 30 years

! *Beware*!
This company charged us over $220 for a part (thermocouple) that usually costs around $20. That’s over 11,000% which is just ridiculous. On top of that they charged a diagnostic fee as well, ($130) which is understandable. They are taking advantage of older folks that don’t know any better. We also called them up to ask about the invoice as to why it was that much for a part and they were just negligent about the situation. I don’t recommend this company at all they are not honest and we will never use them again.

James M & Albert B installed my new A/C unit today. They were professional, did a neat, clean installation. They explained how to use the unit and left a happy customer.

Joshua S came to my house on Tuesday to perform the annual maintence on my two furnaces, per my maintenance contract. He was very thorough and found a dangerous situation with my main furnace and a problem with my main humidifier. Today Albert B. & Richard T.came to install a new furnace & humidifier. Thery were very neat, organized & knowledgeable, and answered any questions that I had pleasantly. I am very satisfired with their work & would request them on any future jobs I needed from Bob MIms.

James M and Albert B and their team from Bob Mim's just finished installing a SPACEPAK central air system and Mitsubishi heating/cooling system in my home (built in the 1930s). Within 3 days they were able to install the Mitsubishi split unit in our basement, install the air handler in the attic knee-holes, exterior unit, and run lines to 10 rooms throughout the house.

The team was punctual, professional, neat, and were eager to answer any questions my wife or I had throughout the installation process. Before they would make any decision regarding return vent positioning or small cuts to run hard to reach lines (which was unavoidable in one room given the floor plan of our home), they made sure to consult us and lay out several options. When it came to running the copper tubing and wiring along the exterior of the house, the team did a great job encasing the piping in a plastic housing that looks almost akin to a downspout, essentially blending into the house.

After installation, the team walked through the entire system with me, included me in the testing process, and did a quick walk-through of the thermostat programming. I would highly recommend Bob Mim's, James, and Albert for A/C installation to any family or friends. I will most definitely be contacting them in the summer to replace our old hot water furnace system as well!
