Can't say enough about how wonderful the instructors are at the Bay Parkway Brooklyn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu location. They are a perfect mixture of fun and discipline, and my son LOVES going to class. Not only is it a great workout but also the best way to teach young kids patience and understanding.

Thoughtfully designed space that's clean and functional: has separate locker room spaces for males and females, quality floor matts, good air conditioning. Was hesitant to join as I haven't been active in this manner for 15 years, but the instructors are super approachable, supportive and kind. The program has a good mix of kids through adults of all shapes and sizes in each class- somehow everyone seems to get paired up perfectly.

First off, this school has a great lineage. It incorporates tradition with an ever evolving art. The instructors truly care about and develop each student within their own capabilities.
This is not only a school to learn martial arts, but a family that grows together.
I recommend this to anyone at any age, or experience. Especially for families to join together.

Brooklyn BJJ is a great place to train. Started about 6 months ago, with absolutely no prior experience, and havnt looked back.

Instructors are very knowledgeable and make it very comfortable for all levels.

The overall vibe is great too. Everyone here is really friendly and helpful. We work hard but have a lot of fun too!

Definitely recommend to anyone who wants to get in shape, learn new skills, and improve themselves.

My kids and I have been training here for over three months, and we're very happy to be part of the dojo family. I have one child in the Junior Basic class, and my other children and I are in the jiu-jitsu and kickboxing classes.

The staff at the Bay Parkway location is great- Mr. Tanveer, Mr. Cancel, and Mr. Bagirov are very welcoming, knowledgeable, helpful, and supportive. Students are encouraged to help each other and ask questions. The instructors and the atmosphere are very inviting, and you feel like family when you are here. The instructors work hard to bring out the best in you and to help you find an inner strength you might not know that you had.

I highly recommend this dojo to families and anyone beginning their martial arts journey.

Putting my kids in BBJJ was the best decision I’ve made in a long time. They’re always excited to go and look forward to progressing and getting their next belt. It even got me started on my martial arts journey as I joined jiu jitsu. I have some injuries from an accident slowing me down but I’m in for the long haul. All of the instructors are great. Thank you!

It been about 2 and a half months since I started here. Honestly nothing but good vibes and good training. Should definitely try it out if you want to get into bjj especially after a long break.

The folks at Brooklyn BJJ are great. They are patient with beginners. They are friendly, open, and welcoming to the point where it's not difficult for me to participate as an autistic person. That and the coaches really know their stuff and know how to adapt their resistance to your skill level perfectly so you're always growing when they spar or roll with you. From what I've seen, they're amazing with kids too.
I'd highly recommend Brooklyn BJJ to anyone looking to learn martial arts, get fit, and be around some great people.

My daughter joined a month before turning 4. She absolutely loves her karate class. She likes her teachers and is excited to socialize with anyone she meets. Her teachers and staff are great and make class fun for the kids. They are true professionals.

Despite the caring instructors at this school, I wouldn't recommend coming here if you are interested in becoming a very skilled and diverse kick boxer or practitioner. Most adult classes in the kick boxing classes are cardio-based and unless you are in the advanced classes you won't be able spar. In the adult classes 85% of the class is based on perfecting technique that you won't be able to utilize in the actual dojo. Although, in the past head pads were allowed they are now reluctant on using them because head hits aren't allowed during sparring nor is heavy hits to any part of the anatomy. Members are supposed to be gentle during the classes to try and not injure anybody despite it being a combat initiated school. The Jiu-jitsu on the other hand is a bit better as most advanced classes are very helpful and technique based, and the basic level classes will automatically prepare you for a somewhat beginner level basis of self defense. Overall great school for new members looking to give martial arts a shot, however, people looking to actually learn how to fight more combatively will find themselves disappointed. Also the dress codes, you are required to wear a black long sleeve shirt for kickboxing or a school-given rash guard but nothing else with few exceptions. You cannot purchase your own gear such as gloves, shin guards regardless of the overpriced gear sold in the school. You can find way better gear online for the same price tag as some of the purchased in the dojo tend to not be durable.

What can I say about Brooklyn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, that its an awsome place to be at. My son and I attend every week. The classes for the kids are great. The Sensei makes fun and the kids love it. I highly recommend it. Adult Classes are just as great. The staff treat you like family. Hard work tho, but its worth it. Great enegry from the Sensei and all the instructors. If you are looking for a place that makes you work hard, but makes you feel great after you are done, well this is the place to be. Bring your kids, your friends, family anyone thats wants to transform themselves.

My son attends the Junior Karate program here and he loves it. LOVES IT! I am so happy we found a new exercise regimen for him that teaches him how to better focus, have self-discipline and how to take care of his growing body. When he puts on his gi he transforms into a different person. More focused, not playing around and serious about what his is about to do. He pushes himself and tries hard to master every combination. The staff is very welcoming and it really feels like a family atmosphere.

The staff and students here, which range from 4 year olds to 55+, have created an open, welcoming, learning, and training environment. It is really an exceptional school.
