My son attended BPOS for 2 years and they were truly magical years for him and our family. We were so lucky with the amazing teachers he had, the friends he made (some we are still very close with) and the positive experiences he had daily. We are now, very happily, at PS 261 where the science room is reminiscent of BPOS because Carmelo helped build/design it himself when he taught there years ago!

We were in the Amity location and the school/classrooms are so beautifully designed to ignite imaginations as soon as you enter the doors. Everything is managed very efficiently and, importantly, with the kids safety and health in mind!

We started BPOS right after we came out of the pandemic and the daily lessons on hygiene and covid protocols were amazing. My son, to this day, is excellent about washing his hands, taking off his outdoor shoes and I credit a lot of that to his BPOS teachers.

Thank you BPOS for a great 2 years!

Our children had a great experience. They learned a lot and had lovely classmates. The staff and teachers were responsive.

My daughter attended school here in summer 2023, just before she turned three. After transitioning following a school closure due to a safety issue at another school, we were so relieved to land at the Preschool of Science in Cobble Hill.

In terms of safety, it's a non-issue: Carmelo and his team have thought of everything: a safe pick up/drop off procedure, locked door during the day, and a parent handbook that clearly outlines all policies to get families on the same page up front to navigate various circumstances as they arise. The handbook also articulates disciplinary policies and the like, which is so important so that parents can actually understand the school's approach and philosophy up front.

Most importantly, my daughter transitioned in easily and looks forward to school everyday. She says she loves school, her teachers and she's making friends. They have 3-4 different classes, separated by age/developmental level and do cool projects everyday, go outside daily to one of two local neighborhood parks and bring in activities each week like music class or gym class.

The team of staff has been absolutely great, from the teachers in the classroom to the people who run the school and handle the administrative elements. This is big for me - I feel like there's someone I can talk to should I ever have an issue I need to speak to someone about.

Each classroom is a beautiful setting and feels clean. Having toured a lot of Brooklyn schools, I hated the feeling of leaving my kid in an environment that felt like a windowless basement room, as is very common at many schools. Preschool of Science has solved this with skylights and a plant wall in the basement classrooms to give it a natural feeling and each space has its own special features to make it special. They also have animals in each classroom-my daughter's class has frogs, a bunny and a bearded dragon.

The hours and schedule is great for working parents. They offer early drop and late pick up for a 8-6 pm day and an almost year-round (they are closed for the month of August and around major holidays).

Literally my only complaint: Because they do cool projects just about every day, my daughter comes home with a new little trinket most days-which is very cool for the kids, but at times feels wasteful since most are yet another new small plastic toy. I'll get over it.

We feel fortunate to have attended the Preschool of Science and would recommend the school to other families.
