Brookside Campgrounds reviews
17My parents have a new vacation RV and they are new to the experience. This was their first time camping out of their RV. They traveled down from Toronto to visit me in Woodstock and we wanted to go camping out of it for a night. We chose this campground because it was one of the few accepting guests into late October, and it’s close to Kaaterskill falls. The woman on the phone was really friendly. The site was super quiet, we hardly saw anyone. They have a great area for kids with stuff like a basketball court, a horseshoe pit, and a game room with a pool table. It was really ugly weather unfortunately but the campsite itself was clean and there’s tons of grills for cooking EVERYWHERE.overall really fair prices for full hookups and a quiet space.
It was a peaceful and nature experience weekend. The campsite was big, it had water access and electric plugs, many trees to cover from the rain, pool and playgrounds and activities for kids, expectations 10/10
The bathrooms need a little cleaning and the pool will best if it had light arround the area.
I can only give one star to this Campground as they discriminate against the Terrier Dog Breeds. So much for all inclusion NY state I will take my vacation dollars elsewhere. I was also told by a few people they would not recommend this campground.
Misleading prices.
The place is good and you can have fun. It is close to good hiking and swimming places, however, the prices shown on the rates page are way off.
They will charge extra for every person per night.
Great place owners are wonderful and welcoming upon arrival and quick to help with anything you made need
I feel a lot of reviews here are overly critical. It's a campground. There's going to be dirt, grass, trees and bugs. The bathrooms were impeccable. The scenery was beautiful. At night it was very peaceful. The owners were gracious and more than accommodating. We genuinely enjoyed our time here.
Stayed at this campground with bunch of friends in the beginning of the Summer. It was a great experience- clean camping area and clean bathrooms, water and electrical hookups at every campground site. Fun activities for kids and even a pool! Our whole gang is going back in early September again. Highly recommend!
Perfect campground! We camped in August and it was cozy, safe, large lots for tents. They also have awesome tent sites for large companies/families. Bathrooms clean. Pool, arcades, basketball, volleyball, soccer. Movie on Saturdays outdoors. The mountain view is awesome! The owner Jerry was very welcoming and helpful, the staff worked hard to keep place clean! I loved the safety of the campground, no bears or crazy wildlife as in the state campgrounds. Safe for kids to go play to the playground and come back to the site on their own. One request to the owner to make the wifi available to the tentsites please! Xtra router after the bathrooms. And please run the recycling bin. Many visitors would separate recycables because we love nature and camping!
We had a blast here over a 4 day weekend. Bonnie was an absolute delight. She was extremely helpful, she brought our toddlers to see her goats and chickens and she even gave us a new ice cream when my son's melted before he could eat it. The events were fun too. Movie night, pool party, bouncy house, etc. If you have kids, it's a lot of fun.
Joe was great. He helped us with literally anything we needed, hung out with us at the pool and he and his children were pleasant company for the weekend. He mostly helped with the event schedule and was our inside source on national parks, lakes and swim holes.
The pool was literally spotless. I talked with the owner for a good 20 minutes about pool chemicals and the secret to low chlorine, super clean pools. I wish it was open later, but the pool party was super fun, so make sure if you have kids you're there for a Friday night.
The views are INSANE. From our site, we just had mountains.
The sites are HUGE. We have a pop-up and could have fit 4 more on our site. There was a nice set of trees for our hammock as well.
The arcade was small, but it has actual awesome games and the prices are good. 0.25 for old games, 0.75 for newer ones.
Overall we had a great time, the people were great (including the full timers), and we couldn't have asked for more. The partying was real, but not bothersome. It's not a KOA, it's a family run business and that's very much the atmosphere of the place.
We stayed at Brookside Campground for 3 nights in a class a. The campground portion of the park, in the back, looks good for campers and tent camping. We chose to have a Deluxe Pullthrough up front. There was nothing “deluxe” about it. Yes we had 50amp and sewer but the area around us looked like a trailer park. Our front window view was a shed or something with basically stuff (junk) all around. Normally this wouldn’t be to bad but not at the price they were charging. I think 3 stars is probably the best I could give them for the spot we were in. The roads are very dusty and rough. The utilities at our site did work well, minus the water pressure. We couldn’t shower with so low of pressure. Filled our tank each night to use. The location of the utilities was far to the front of our site. Just barely reached our power cord. Just set your expectations if you are staying in a FHU site. Not worth the price charged. Sorry guys, just being honest.
Very poor management.
Do not stay in this place
You will be very.very disappointed
The views whether winter or summer are beautiful around Brookside Campgrounds. Playground for children. Clean. Reasonable prices. The owners are very nice, highly recommend Brookside Campgrounds!
I stayed here for two months and had a great time. I was here during the winter and spring months so most of the facilities were closed but the staff was just a phone call away if I needed help
A very nice RV park. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The office girl we spoke to kept us out of traffic and small roads. She was very knowledgeable about the direction we we were coming and steered us in the best way for our RV. We’re only staying one night, but all in all they had everything we needed. It was a little muddy because of the warming temps. But glad to have stopped in.
Been camping every summer for 2 years here.plan on going back in July.they are very friendly and wonderful owners I will be going back every year
Stayed over a year and was very happy with the campground bonnie and jerry where fabulous hosts the park was well maintained and clean will definatly stay again cant say enough about the hospitality and efforts of the owners and staff
We went at the beginning of the off season. The general store was closed both days we stayed. The site we reserved was very muddy, I had to use 4WD to get the trailer out. Overall it got the job done and was located close to the kaaterskill falls which we liked.
