Just moved here a little bit ago. Time will tell, so I will update my review. Things have been great, and everything was up to standard! The office manager, Patty, is great, and is very helpful.

A/C was not working efficiently. Response from management was immediate and maintenance showed up to rectify within half hour. So impressed! Thank you!

426 #3 Tries to rent a bedroom for 500 / month. He asks for 1st last and Deposit or 1500$
Takes all or part then says see manager.to fill out application. And sets time to help you move in.
He shows up start loading truck and says he has gotten in touch with office (on holiday when they are closed and pets are not allowed.
1 hecknew that I had small dog.from the start.sent picture.before Deposit
2 he originally said bldg 326 when it was 426
3 as a roomate I agreed to pay him100 to help move to avoid storage.
4 he waited till truck was loaded to change his story forcing me to lose 45 minutes on 2 guys working.
And 179 to store my things with nowhere to go and loaded truck
5 he did not return all my money and took 65 more dollars than agreed
I have yet to actually get the money.
He did this to another person before me. Atheist one by his own admission.
He is Turkish American and travels there 1 month of year cost me 400 plus dollars added on to move and does not see remorse Or seem to care what a spot he put me in. Or care beware.
I am contacting management to inform them but the owner is also his countryman.

Long (ish) Review/Response to some negative reviews.

I have lived within these buildings for a couple of years now, and have quite the positive experience. Whenever I put a "work order" in, it is responded to within the day of the request or the following day. I put quotations around "work order" because in reality, it's a super simple email sent to the property manager's office. If there are questions or clarifications needed, there will be a reply to my initial request and usually a follow up with either a written note, or email, when repair/adjustment is done. These are old (ish) buildings, and there will be your usual wear and tear. Toilet pipe needs a tightening, a screen in your window ripped from a wind storm, etc. Even with that in mind, the maintenance crew also does yearly tasks: AC install/uninstall, heater filter cleaning/replacements, smoke/CO2 sensors. There are probably more, but I am not aware or sure of most repairs.

On the new washers, yes at first I was not too excited. The rate of laundry increased. However, with good reason. They are digitally run with your smart phones now and have notifications when cycles are completed. No longer do I have to go find quarters or go to a super market and ask for a roll of quarters at the customer service. I no longer have to guesstimate when each cycle is done, and hope my neighbors figured it out too. The timer is right on your phone, plus tells you when a machine is being used by someone else, so you don't walk in there with a couple of loads of clothes and see their baskets ready to go, defeated.

Also, that does bring me to the "concern" of neighbors and as a previous review put it "clientele. " I have had a couple of neighbors cycle in and out. All completely different personalities, age ranges, and lifestyles really. However, to judge an establishment such as Browncroft Apartments based on paying customers rubs me the wrong way. Whether intentional or not, it feels like a bit of classism. I, for one, take comfort in the fact that EastWood Management, and Browncroft Apartments welcome all walks of life. (This again, coming only from my experiences and my perspective - no invalidation of others)

If one's apartment set up or style doesn't fit visual preferences, simple solution; don't look in their windows. I get it, I'm curious by nature and walk by windows and I take a quick look as I pass by. Not to spy, but just casually looking around. No need for me to base how I feel about my place, off of what others do with their dwellings. (Which reminds me, I should decorate more) Anytime I have had an "issue" or concern with my neighbors, I have just written a note and placed it near the mailboxes or in the laundry room. We have communicated back and forth on multiple occasions (Some of us work different hours and can't necessarily have in person conversations). These usually are resolved without any dilemma. Even requested help in removing laundry for me once when I knew I wouldn't be back in time. Communication works.

Anytime there seems to be a rule broken according to the lease agreements or a concern, and one requests support from property management, there is swift action. Signage posted, phone calls (that are friendly and focused on solutions), and mailing. Which does remind me, anytime there are maintenance projects to be done, there are always signs posted well in advance for reminders and planning.

Overall, can I say living here has been perfect? No, but, where is perfect living? I can say I have lived peacefully, enjoyably, and comfortably. What more is there to ask in days like these?

This is a long review. I just moved out of the complex a few months ago after being there for 5+ years. When I first moved in I loved it. Nice area. Nice complex. Well maintained grounds and buildings. Nice neighbors and neighborhood. They cared what it looked like up front and made sure your blinds weren’t trashed. As time went on the clientele and upkeep diminished. There are several people that smoke weed and cigarettes in the apartments and it spreads to other apartments via stairwell. Even after stating concerns to the office nothing was done and was told to essentially deal with it. There were several apartments that just looked rough from the windows. It was something we had to keep neat years before. I had an issue once where I somehow paid rent twice on the same day and it overdrafted my account. The office then charged me an overdraft fee on the rogue second payment. Instead of figuring out how to cancel the second payment and reverse the fee they told me some other place handles the payments and there was nothing they could do. The smoke and CO alarms were expired and malfunctioning. I asked for replacements. Maintenance told me that wasn’t necessary and they work fine. They expired years ago. I continued to request they be replaced. They gave me the run around and wouldn’t do it. They replaced them after I had to play the “I work for the fire department” card and they realized I knew what I was talking about. They replaced the washer and dryer in the basement with “upgraded” units then increased the price for use. The “new” washers and dryers were dirty and used previously. The parking lot could use some TLC. A seal coat or paving. At the least some lines repainted because parking can turn into a free-for-all. I, surprisingly because I heard they rarely if ever give them back, got some of my security deposit. I did have cats and there was some damage so I understood the need for repairs even after paying the pet fee every month for years. The issue I had is they charged an extra $150 for painting because we painted two rooms a different color. I put on primer coats in both of those rooms prior to moving out. Some of the repairs that are done are quick and cheap. I had to resort the tile in the bathroom window because the way they did it doesn’t work and was never properly sealed in the joints. I’m thankful for the residence over the last few years however it’s not what it used to be. Could be a great place to live again but the current trend isn’t promising.

While these apartments used to be good, they're going downhill fast. It's not the apartments per se, it's the people. Everyone either smokes or smokes pot; when you rely on having your windows open but get a face full of smoke instead, it's not the most pleasant experience day after day.
