I’ve been going to Danielle for years. Her space here is so amazing. Clean, adorable, and welcoming. Danielle is a pro at what she does and I can’t imagine anyone else doing my hair.

Roe Casano and the team at Bubu are by far the most talented and engaging hairstylists around. I've gone to Bubu several times over the last two years and always leave feeling lighter and like a million bucks. Roe strikes a perfect balance of technical skills, friendly demeanor and thoughtful intention. Bubu is well kept, stylish and a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of NYC.

If you are looking for someone that is detail oriented, kind, & listens, Roe is your person! I’ve been coming to Roe for over a year now, and I have left so happy with my hair each time! Whether it’s a routine hair cut, blow out, or curls for an event, Roe listens to what I am looking for and fully executes on it. She always makes sure I leave with perfect hair, and I fully trust her with my hair. From start to finish, the experience is great. Bubu is super clean and welcoming, offering great coffee while you get your hair done. Super happy I made the switch to Roe & Bubu.

This review is well overdue! I began going to Danielle Chiz in July 2022 after seeing someone with the exact hair color I wanted. She said to go to see Danielle, the owner at Bubu. Danielle gave my hair life again! I walked out feeling so good and beautifully blonde I told her exactly what I wanted and she went above and beyond. I had been to two other high end salons in NYC and nearly left in tears because it looked exactly the same as it did when I walked in? No one even noticed my hair was done? After I saw Danielle, everyone noticed and everyone loved it? Not only is she an amazing hair colorist/stylist, she is so sweet and very easy to talk to. She made me feel comfortable right away. She’s calm, kind, honest and listens to her client’s needs and wants. This is hard to find in NYC. I adore her and her salon. The salon itself is the perfect size and I love the decor. The other stylists were friendly and quite funny too, so it’s an overall great experience going there. The time flies and boom…you’re looking great and feeling so good. I am so grateful to have found Danielle. I am with her for the long haul. ‍️ ️

Roe is the best. Actually the whole salon is great! Everyone is super friendly, really well skilled, and they always have a good selection of waters/coffees for a fun bonus.

When I moved to New York from Chicago, the thing I was most nervous about was finding a new hair stylist. I had been going to my previous salon for years and was terrified to let someone else touch my hair. Luckily for me, Danielle was incredible. I love to change my hair cut and color a TON and not only has she done an amazing job every time, she also explains the process so I know exactly what to expect. She is so kind, and knows so much about what she’s doing. She’s taken me from platinum (with inches of root, my bad) to copper/orange, to the most beautiful kardashian brown. She’s given me bangs and chopped all my hair into a perfect bob. And every time has been exactly what I wanted! The salon is a wonderful environment and everyone is super nice. Cannot recommend enough!

Danielle is incredible at what she does! I went from dark brunette to a blonde balayage and it looks absolutely amazing and my hair still feels and looks healthy! She’s my go to for regular hair cuts and now will be my go to for any hair coloring too! Plus, she’s fun to talk to and I always look forward to visiting the salon.

It took me two agonizing years to find hands I could trust with my hair in NYC. Danielle and bubu are the real deal. Bright, super cool, welcoming atmosphere, kind and TALENTED artists, fair pricing, and the best hair care you could ask for. Amazing salon, super fair prices for NYC, Danielle does an excellent job and it's a fun and welcoming environment. Can't recommend it enough!

I was really hesitant to post this because I don’t usually leave bad reviews for small businesses, and I was given a refund, but the experience I had here was awful and will take more than a year to grow out and hundreds of dollars to have corrected. The stylist didn’t listen to anything I asked for and completely ignored the reference photo I showed him. I asked for two inches off the bottom with some framing layers around my face and I received a mullet with 5-6 inches cut off in some places. It’s choppy, has no direction, and is objectively a hot mess. On top of everything, he was 45 minutes late and no one said anything to me to let me know he was running late the entire time I was waiting. Overall this was a really negative experience in several ways and I wouldn’t recommend getting a cut here if you fine straight hair.

Danielle is absolutely AMAZING - and so talented. As blonde coming from the south I was so nervous to trust someone new with my hair, and Danielle made it so easy! After my first appointment with her I knew I had found my forever New York hairdresser. Everything about my experience with Bubu salon and Danielle has been incredible, I cannot say enough good things and I always look forward to my appointments here. Thank you Danielle!

Danielle is amazing! I originally booked a shorter appointment only to realize it needed to be longer upon arrival to the salon. Danielle stayed late to accommodate the longer time and did a great job lightening my roots. Also, the salon is super clean and chic. Will be back!

Bubu is aight. Music is wack but Sam Bullen gave me a changed-my-life level haircut. Got compliments for months. 5 stars for Sam

Bubu is a fantastic new addition to the Lower East Side! The salon is welcoming, clean, chic, and the staff is extremely knowledgeable. I booked with Danielle and she did an absolutely incredible job - making sure every detail of my hair transformation was perfect. Can't wait to go back!

I don’t usually trust just anyone with my hair but was pleasantly surprised! Robi did an amazing job getting my curls back in shape and provided an awesome experience. He was very thorough and made sure I got exactly what I wanted. Bubu as a salon is super cute and has a great vibe not to mention that they made me feel totally safe given COVID.

I just got my first cut of the year here, at BuBu. Robi Gonzalez cut my hair. He knew what I was describing to him and did it quick and efficient. Super friendly knowledgeable guy. Would definitely recommend!

Bubu is a beautiful salon and Danielle is so knowledgeable. I don't trust many people with my blonde highlights and she did a phenomenal job. She walked me through what she was going to do and why and my results came out gorgeous. I highly recommend booking her for your next appointment!
