Budget Car Rental, Syracuse NY

I have been renting from the Genesee location for several months and I wanted to acknowledge Katrice.

Katrice always goes above and beyond to assist with any questions, or concerns that I have had. Shes always polite and detailed about my rental. She great at multitasking due to staffing and never complains. Kudos Katrice and because of your superior service, you are the reason that I completed this survey.

Absolutely awful experience.
My car smelled DISGUSTING. Clearly someone smoked in the car and they tried to cover it up with air freshener, which just made it smell even worse.
The minute I turned on the car the maintenance light came on (I was running late for a meeting otherwise I would’ve exchanged for a different vehicle).
Also, what car rental in upstate NY doesn’t have a snow scraper? ! I nearly got in an accident driving through a snowstrom to a gas station to buy one.
AWFUL!

Three straight quick one way rentals at bargain prices and upgraded cars. Counter professionals get me in and out quick! I will continue to use their vehicles rather than flights which keep getting delayed or cancelled.

This place deserves zero stars but the minimum I am allowed to select is one. I made my reservation weeks in advance with a credit card, and the day of pickup when I arrived they swiped my card again for a separate deposit or hold which got flagged as fraud. After communicating with my credit card, they said I should be good to go Budget said they could only swipe the card one time, and were unable to rent me the car they had charged me for. They also said that my credit score wasn’t high enough but in fact my credit score is an 850, being the highest possible score. Someone suggested maybe they over booked and ran out of cars. Being a Saturday, the store was closing in 20 minutes and so was every other car rental place, causing me to miss a relatives wedding.

The owner and staff are amazing. Had several issues at the airport. Tried to get the right size vehicle for me since I’m 6’3” and 250. Sherri made some moves and got me in something that’s much much better. I wish more people would try and make the process less frustrating like she did. Every one else at Budgets call center probably shaved 2 years off my life.

Staff is very professional & friendly they had me in my rental in minutes. Car was clean.

Pricing depends on the availability of vehicles and demand. Supply of vehicles at this location is typically limited. The customer reps are knowledgeable about the vehicles they have to offer. Vehicles I have rented have been all cleaned and come with full tank of gas.

Of all the airport rentals I have been at, the Syracuse one's are always a step above. All the cars I have rented were nice and the staff at the service counters are helpful.

Awful experience at Tucson airport on April 2. Dropped pre-paid car off timely with full tank of gas. None of the three employees looked at the vehicle. They just pointed and said leave it there. Did not look at e-receipt they sent after drop off. I learned from next credit card statement that I was billed $20.18 extra, no reason identified. I called Budget. I was immediately asked if I filled car with gas. I said yes and was asked where I bought it and how much I spent. Provided that info from my credit card statement. The customer service rep agreed to eliminate the charge; I have received the credit. This is a total rip off attempt. I suspect that someone in the car return area gets a bonus based on billings that they come up with. Lesson for me is to take picture of gas tank data on car at time of drop off and don't pay cash for gas. Also got a very hard sell at time of pick up to pay for "loss of use" insurance in case of accident. I had confirmed that my own insurance provided this coverage. I was told I could be ticketed and fined if I was found to be operating a vehicle in Arizona without my auto insurance policy information with me. I told them I would risk it. They relented. Not a pleasant experience experience.

Sherry the manager here is unbearable. Absolutely miserable. The rest of the staff here is great but I would never return because of her and how she treats customers.

Car was incredibly clean and the rental agents were kind! Made my rental experience awesome as always

We needed a vehicle for my mother in law to drive while we waited for our twins to be born. They were able to hook us up last minute, despite scarcity of cars, thanks to our currently idiotic political landscape. Our Sienna van allowed her to see her mom and have some freedom during her visit. It was clean and in great condition. It was even big enough to use to bring home our new twins. Thank you!

Booked an SUV, paid ahead, and then given a huge truck. No apologies or exchanges, nor an explanation or heads up by the front desk staff. I’m never coming to this location again, only the airport.
