Buttermilk Falls State Park reviews
25If you're seventy-five years old like me, pace yourself, it's quite a climb. Beautiful views along the shady gorge trail, so you will want to bring your camera or smartphone to take pictures. Near the top, there's a knee-deep splash pool where you can rest your tired feet in the cool clear water.
What's not to love? No swimming yesterday, but great space to relax, hike, explore, find nature come alive in front of you, and it's so bezutiful!
Great place for a good hike. Then can swim next to waterfall. Also has a seperate dog area for the four legged freinds to cool off
We just absolutely loved it! What a spectacular place to view a wonderful waterfall. Even with the lower water volume, the falls are still beautiful. Can't wait to go back in the spring and view the falls with a full belly of water! Well worth the journey
On August 3rd I became lost on the rim trail with my 2 dog's for 2 hour's. When I finally emerged in the park on top 2 maintenance men-Andrew & Joshua assisted me. Andrew let me use his phone to call my family at the campground to come get me. I started to become panicky the last stretch of the trail, thirsty & tired so when these kind men came to my rescue it was a relief. Thank you sooo much guys-your mother's raised good men! I hope Buttermilk Falls realize what good employees they have & appreciate you!
We had fun. The falls aren't that big but they're is a couple of swimming areas. There's a 10 foot Cliff that you jump off of. The hiking is beautiful and not challenging.
Very crowded. The hike along the stream is nice but not very "natural" feeling. It does not feel like an escape from the city and you'll be walking around other people the entire time.
Pretty nice scenery, but they had a natural pool that was closed.because they had no life guard. Seriously are we all 5 years old.
Very beautiful! Very steep climbs! Great workout! Rim trail coming from gorge trail poorly marked. We will definitely go back again!
Oh my god is this place beautiful, don't be fooled by the overly protective life guards down below the falls by the swimming holes. If you walk up the hill a ways u can find your own swimming holes, some have great jumping access for cliff jumpers. Just don't let the life guards know lol!
There has been lots of rain so the Falls were spectacular and it just seemed like they went on and on forever.
This is a beautiful park. If you just want to see the waterfall you have to pay an entrance fee. There is no parking outside of that and you will get a ticket. We were with someone who was unable to get around very well so we had to leave without seeing the Falls… I’m sure this is a very lovely place and if you pay the state Park entrance fee you can get into other state parks for that day.
Very dirty. Looks like it hasn't been kept up by staff. There was no swimming. Water was filthy green.
Excellent for all ages and family! Great swimming area. Small space for sunbathing. Hiking and camping! Can't wait to go back!
Man this place has a lot of hype on the internet so I went and, well it's small and just what you see in the photos as far as the swimming area goes.one time deal for me but it was alright at the moment
Great place for a hike or camping. The trails on either side of the gorge give great views of the falls. Swimming at bottom of falls. Parking lot is rather chaotic on a busy day. Dog friendly.
Great place for family and fun. Beautiful sights and sounds as the water rolls down the stones of the falls. Scenic levels as you walk up along the side of the falls to the top where you can look down and appreciate what nature has created here. Picnic grounds play grounds and all around great time to be had by young and old.
There's an upper and a lower to this park. The lower is beautiful as you can walk up a long trail, adjacent to the falls; pet friendly; child friendly; swimming.
The upper is quite nice, too. Has an actual pavilion to eat and stuff; my job recently rented it out for an evening to host a "great job so far this year! " dinner.
Highly suggested for locals AND tourist attractions.
It's an ok place to have a family day like swimming, hiking, picnic, and a playground for the kids plus a dog wadding area.
